We stayed here for the Sun n Fun airshow and it couldn’t have been more perfect! The house was clean and so easy to find. We will definitely book here again next year!
I stayed here for the birth of my first grandbaby. I was pleased with absolutely everything. I don’t have a single complaint about my stay, would love to come again sometime

Lots of bugs! Bad business.
Cute if you’re only staying a couple days. I was there almost 3 weeks and ran into several issues. The AC unit had a hard time keeping up with the Florida heat, so it was hot, there was mold on the shower curtain (I’m allergic), the old floors are uneven, I kept getting bit by mosquitoes and other bugs! You can tell this century old house had minimal repairs/ updates before putting on VRBO, but nicely decorated inside. Several days after I arrived I came back to find thousands of flies swarming the front and back doors, so I could not even enter the house without flies getting in. Then the foul stench! It permeated the interior of the entire little house. It was a couple of days before the owner got someone to remove what turned out to be a large dead possum under the house, and he was going to wait 3 days for his regular maintenance person, even after he came out and saw and smelled the situation! He finally sent someone and I could hear the poor exterminator outside heaving & upchucking. It was pretty gross and must have been really bad. I was not offered any discount or other compensation or even an apology for the trouble. Instead, Drew, decided to contact me a week AFTER I checked out, to tell me the house required a deep cleaning, for which he’s planning to charge me, which is not true at all. I stayed there almost 3 weeks, and paid for cleaning. I wasn’t going to leave this review, until Drew tried to overcharge me, after all the issues I experienced. Bad business

Gail, we’re sorry this was your experience. While the possum was out of our control we worked as fast as we could to right the situation once we were made aware about it. You alerted about the flies on Tuesday, and the problem was fixed the next day. We did not offer a discount as your entire stay was already discounted to make it possible for you to book. A courtesy we have not offered before. Unfortunately, you did not initially disclose your pet during booking. The additional fee we charged is the pet fee that should have been paid for at the time of booking. The pet fee would have covered the additional cleaning of messes left behind on the floors and carpets. We charged this fee as soon as our cleaning team made us aware that you in fact had an animal in the house, and had left uncleaned messes behind. As for the AC, you alerted it was not working properly one time, and when we offered to have it looked at you said it was working well. We hope you enjoyed stay in Lakeland otherwise.
