If you want a tranquil place to relax on a beautiful lake this is the place. We fully enjoyed our two day stay there and will be booking this property again
This cabin has the perfect location for us. Gradual sandy entry into the lake was great for the dog and also us to swim. Cabin had everything we needed and more. No problems, great trip.
Absolutely loved our stay! The house was small and cozy and stocked with everything you might need. Beds were comfortable, nice size TV with great streaming capabilities, and steps from the water. We enjoyed having a fire and sitting on the swing while watching the boats go by. Super quiet area of Spider Lake. This is a great find!
We loved our stay at the Spider Lake cottage. It was everything we hoped for. We wanted a cozy winter retreat to teach our kids how to ice fish and this fit the bill. The location was great!
The property was small & cute, but very functional, clean & located in a peacefully quiet location. The host was super easy to contact & communicate with. My husband LOVED having the garage to pull the car into & he LOVED the coffee bar. Our 18 year old son loved the kayaks. The lake is super pretty. We found a local butcher & grill most evenings & ate out on the deck, absolutely loved it.The property is close enough to venture out for day adventures but far enough away from everything to escape the busy grind of life & soak up the peaceful beauty of the calmness of the lake. We give it a 10/10 would stay here again, maybe next time we would rent the pontoon to explore the lake a bit more. Thanks again for a wonderful experience & stay
The house is beautiful with wonderful updates. The bathrooms are great, the kitchen is very nice. The outdoor space is wonderful with beautiful lake views. The host was readily available to us to answer questions. The house is a nice distance from Traverse City. Plenty of towels, blankets, throws...everything we needed. We really enjoyed our visit and will return with our son next time.
We absolutely loved the house and the area! This is a beautiful spot for Christmas . The house is everything it says in the description. Beautiful and comfortable rooms. Would like to come back when it's warmer.
Great location and prefect for our New Years getaway. The home was clean and cozy. Good location to Traverse City and surrounding areas. Would definitely rent again.
Loved our stay, so clean, updated everything on a beautiful lake. Would love to take advantage of kayaks etc in the summer months but as you can see from the picture it was leaf peeping at its finest. So glad to be able to come up for a two day weekend trip to recharge before going back to the grind down to city living.
Loved our stay! Used to kayaks and pontoon boat, lots of golf short drive away. Communication with host was easy, prompt and pleasant. Would definitely stay here again, super relaxing. Michigan in September is unbelievable.
This was a quiet weekend getaway. The property is very nice and cozy with a great view of the lake. We would come back again.

About the host
Hosted by Tom A Kingsford
I grew up in Traverse City and frequently visited Spider Lake as a kid. When I was able to find a property on the lake that needed some TLC for the right price I purchased this place and spent six months transforming a summer cabin into a year round home. I continue to make improvements as time and money allow. I am an electrician, my wife Casey works in the pharmacy at the hospital. We live about 15 minutes away.
Why they chose this property
This property is peaceful and beautiful. It's on a private drive off a dead-end road. This part of the lake is low-wake no waves, jet ski's or motor boats going by above an idle. The neighbors Art and Bonnie are great. It's a private escape 15 minutes out of town.
What makes this property unique
The view alone of the lake whether you ever intend touch the water is worth it. Even when it's raining you can find yourself mesmerized watching the rain hit the water. If your feeling more adventurous hop in the complimentary kayaks to explore the lake. It has many coves, a sand bar and a couple islands.
