Beautiful private home on the Boardman River with large yard, deck and hot tub.

This beautifully updated home has an open floor plan and vaulted ceiling. The entire back of the house has sliders that open to a large deck with beautiful views and access to the Boardman River. The primary bedroom has a king size bed and attached bathroom with tub and shower. There is also sliding door from the bedroom leading to the deck and 8 person hot tub. 2nd bedroom has queen bed with slider to the deck. 3rd bedroom has 2 twin beds. 2nd bath has a shower. Large combination living room/dining room with gas fireplace. Complete kitchen and laundry. Enjoy the beauty and serenity of the pond on the front of the house, and large lawn with fire pit in the back leading to the deck/dock on the river.

Beautiful Boardman River House

We spent a few days here while our kids played in the Cherry Cup. House is exactly as pictured. The property is awesome - secluded and quiet. We fished, swam in the river, and took advantage of the hot tub on cool nights. Bring bug spray - during the warmer days the mosquitoes were out. Definitely recommend this place!

Perfect place

We had a great stay! Such a great location, secluded but not far from Traverse City. We loved being able to kayak the Boardman River! Kitchen is well stocked, everything was clean and just plain perfect.

Traverse City Summer Getaway

The River House is beautiful. Peaceful setting on the river away from town. Plenty of room to be outside. Minor issues were handled by Alex immediately. Alex was just a text away. I loved their story.

Great river house

Had a great time at the river house. The weather was a little rainy and cold, so the hot tub really helped save the trip! Check in and out was super easy and Alex was quick when I needed to communicate. The house was beautiful. Would for sure stay again. :)

Solitude in Northern Michigan

The property was a great place to meet up with my daughter and her husband. We traveled from Arizona and thoroughly enjoyed staying at the River House. It had all the amenities you would need and was very clean. The setting next to the river was perfect. Close to town but far enough away. Thank you Alex and Paul.

Great Getaway

Wonderful jumping off place for visiting the area. This home is a peaceful retreat with all the amenities. Large glass doors give a view from every room. We watched a deer eating apples from the tree in the yard. It was too cold to enjoy the beautiful outdoor decks, but the cozy fireplace kept us warm and comfortable. We would love to visit again in the summer.

Awesome vacation home!

What a great vacation. The river house was absolutely beautiful and there was nothing that we could have needed that Dawn and Jeff did not provide. From kayaks, games, kitchen essentials, toiletries, even water shoes!! Such gracious hosts and such an easy experience when booking. They were always so quick to respond to any questions. Highly recommend this home! Our family made so many great memories and will definitely be returning in the future! ❤️

Beautiful peaceful home

We really enjoyed our stay at the Boardman River House. The hosts were very responsive and connected us with a local gentleman to help transport us and the kayaks to a drop off point. The house is well appointed and it’s minutes to a grocery store to get your provisions. We did communicate with the hosts about some minor issues, dirty dishes left in the cupboard and a some screens that had small holes which allowed some pesky mosquitoes in but it was generally it was spotless. Would highly recommend!

Amazing riverfront home!

From the second we walked it we were amazed! It was very clean, beautiful, peaceful & secluded yet only 15 minutes from most everything. The home felt like we were truely staying at someone’s personal home vs a rental. High end finishings had absolutely anything you needed including kayaks to use & take off right from the house. Very roomy and comfortable. I communicated with the owner a few times and she was quick to respond and very helpful. We had no issues at all. You can see that they’re reinvesting and updating. We travel quite a bit and by far this has been the best property that we’ve stayed at. It was nice to wake up and have a cup of coffee looking at the river and watching deer and rabbits play. I would highly recommend this home to anyone that wants to stay in the traverse city area.

The Great Outdoors!

Wonderful house with mid century modern flavor. All the interior amenities you could need. The house is well kept with comfortable beds. Exterior has a nice grill in good working order with plenty of propane tanks, a gas fire table plus a fire pit for burning logs. The property is situated right on the Boardman River. The river is shallow and moves at a swift rate so it is great for kayaking, tubing and fly fishing. Or general splashing around and swimming. There is a really nice and well maintained hot tub to relax in outside. A short 10 min drive or less to grocery stores and restaurants. 20 min to Downtown TC. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Torch Lake (and many others), vineyards, fruit orchards, great beaches all very close by. Overall a great house in a great location.

Beautiful House on River

From the minute we stepped onto the property we were delighted with the bountiful features and amenities of this rental house. We rented this house and the cute cottage right next door for a family reunion. It was a perfect setting for all of us—from the grandparents down to the teens. We were able to spread out across the property and enjoy everything from finding frogs in the front pond, swinging under the giant willow tree, relaxing in the hot tub, to chatting around the traditional bonfire pit as well as the beautiful gas bonfire bowl on the deck. We traipsed up and down the river frontage and jumped on tubes to ride the swift current. The house was beautifully updated and decorated. It was well supplied with those “extra” things you don’t pack—like towels for the hot tub, large toys and floats for the kids, paper products, coffee and sugar, bug spray, games, and so much more. We were pleasantly pleased to open drawers, cabinets, and closets to find just what we needed. I would highly recommend this property to all.

A Hidden Gem

By far one of the best vacation rental properties that we have ever stayed at. Our family throughly enjoyed staying at this house on the river. We were able to meet the owners Dawn and Jeff. We now understand why this is such a great place. Their love for this property and the river is so apparent. The attention to detail is second to none. They make sure your family is so comfortable in their home. We loved the fact that we were just minutes away from Traverse City and all that it has to offer. This property is an oasis. You feel as though you have fallen off the face of the earth. After spending our days exploring the beauty of Michigan, we returned to the house to relax and enjoy this property. Our evenings were filled with sitting by the river while our kids enjoyed hanging out in the water. The deck that runs the entire back of the home has so many places to sit and just relax. Our evening meals were prepared on the the large gas grill then enjoyed around one of the two deck tables. Our nights ended with a soak in the hot tub looking at the stars before crawling into some incredibly comfortable beds for an amazing nights sleep. Every aspect of this home has been considered for the comfort of the guests that choose to stay there. Give it a try, you will love it! Our family is already talking about our next visit to the house on the river.

Perfect for kids!

This was everything the listing said it was! We weren’t sure if we wanted to stay in Traverse City or a bit outside, and we are so glad we chose this route. It’s easy access to Traverse City but tucked away with lots of fun things to do right at the house. We loved being right on the river to fish and the house was stacked with all the kids toys, games and books. The kids kept busy while we relaxed on the beautiful back deck and enjoyed the peace and quiet! The hot tub was clean and the perfect size for our family. We’ve already recommended this place to several friends and would definitely be back if we come back to this area!

What a magical little place

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at the River House. Everything was exactly as pictured and described. The setting right on the river is magical. It is private and secluded but still close enough to downtown to easily go in for shopping, dinner, etc. Grocery store, gas and amenities are 5 minutes away. This southern family loved our time in Traverse City and would highly recommend the river house for a great getaway. We hope to go back.

Perfect!

Our stay at the property was absolutely perfect. The house was clean and spacious enough for 6 adults and our 3 year old granddaughter. Beautiful well stocked kitchen and open living space. The beds are so comfortable. I didn't use the outside shower, but my husband, adult son and father in law did and raved about it. The deck is amazing. We spent lots of time out in the yard and sitting by the river. So peaceful. There is a little town close by with a family fare, walgreens and a jets pizza. The property is also close to Traverse City and all the other fun things to do in the area. Thank you to our hosts! We loved our stay.

Wonderful, private, rural, fully stocked riverside home, yet close to many outdoor activities and still just 15 minutes from Traverse City restaurants and shopping. Great, high-speed internet.

My parents bought this house in 1999 when I was in middle school. I grew up spending my entire summers at this house making so many memories! This house has become the landscape for many family gatherings, baby and wedding showers, and even my sisters wedding. I can't even express how much this property means to us! When the opportunity came for my husband and I to purchase the property from my parents we had to take it, and now we're so happy this house is still in our family!

Why they chose this property

This house was in my family for over 20 years when my husband and I bought it. We have spent countless hours kayaking, tubing, roasting marshmallows and making great memories on this beautiful river.

What makes this property unique

We love the peace and quiet of this location. We are at the end of a two track road so there is no traffic to worry about. We enjoy sitting on our deck watching the ducks, herons, deer, rabbits and many other kinds of wildlife. The river is very easily accessed off of our lawn for kayaking, tubing, fishing or swimming.
