The house is just as it is pictured, very clean and centrally located. Contacted our host several times. She was quick to respond and very helpful. She also called the day before our arrival to make sure we would receive the entry number. I, and my friends, highly recommend this place.

Such a great place to stay!

Gina saw to everything and was patient with me when I forgot to fill in some paperwork. Our whole women's hockey team stayed there and all 14 of us give the property and the management a big thumbs up.

Wonderful place to stay in Duluth for a large group

13 of us High School Friends from all over the US came to Duluth and Stayed at this ACharles Weiss Historic Home for 3 nights! The price was great as was the location. Very clean and accommodated our large group! The weather was great so we took advantage of the large front porch! Needless to say, we were all very happy with the Weiss house!

Wonderful Place!

My whole family and mother-in-law were delighted with this home. It was huge and beautiful! There was room for everyone to feel more than comfortable and relaxed. It was a great location and nice to have parking off street. The pool table and piano were great additions. It was like having a whole bed and breakfast to yourself! Thank you!

Great Place for Family

The property was great. However, when they say they provide shampoo and condition, it is little packets, so make sure to bring your own. We also ended up purchasing hand soap for all the bathrooms since the little bars they left us were too small. We loved everything else and had a great time. I definitely recommend this if you are looking for a family get together.

Family Christmas-2019

We came from North Dakota, Iowa and Indiana to gather together in this remarkable old home. The warmth and coziness filled every room. We enjoyed ourselves so very much. The owner met us the day we arrived and was available and so accommodating. I had done some cooking ahead of time. The kitchen in the house was small and dated, but useable certainly. We would recommend this beautiful to anyone that enjoys making memories.

Family trip to Duluth

We had a great stay in Duluth and were blessed with excellent weather. The house is clean and well equipped. The owners continue to update the house which was built in 1895. The dining room easily had enough room for all 12 of us at once which was very nice. The house is well located with a big grocery store just a 2 minute drive. We took day trips to Gooseberry Falls, the Split Rock Lighthouse, the Canal area, Engel Tower, and the aquarium all of which were delightful for our multigenerational family. The owners of the property were easy to reach and responded quickly. If I might make a suggestion, I would have a pack and play in the house available for infants and toddlers. We brought one along. However, I would highly recommend this property to others.

Just As Expected

We found the A. Charles Weiss home just as described--historic and beautiful, as well as in a nice neighborhood. It is a step back in time to be appreciated! We were a group of 10 adults, all senior citizens, who had traveled a great distance from other parts of MN and other states. Street out front of the house is kind of busy so you will hear the traffic. Be sure to check out the Duluth parking rules as it affects the amount of vehicles you have to park there--especially if you need to park on the street. The parking spaces behind the house are cozy. The house is close to many Duluth attractions which helped make our stay very enjoyable. House is well supplied with everything you may need. Beds were comfortable --and even the pillows! We would have appreciated an earlier check-in time and hope that may be considered for future renters. We knew the check-in time prior to arrival so ended up with a very late dinner our first evening after all were settled in. The owners are good to communicate with and checked in with us via text during our stay to make sure all was well. Gina is a great host.

Very clean. Check in easy. Host communicates well, responds quickly, and is accommodating . Safe, convenient location. Perfect for 11 of us. Comfy beds and visiting spaces. The outside porch was especially wonderful for morning coffee and lovely visits. Plenty of sitting space.

Excellent accommodations with comfy beds, plenty of space for 7 adults to gather or have their own spaces. The pool table was a real winner and provided loads of fun and entertainment! We were impressed with the cleanliness, excellent condition of the vintage house, and all it had to offer. The home provided an added bonus to our overall experience! Highly recommended. The hosts were great communicators as well. Bravo!

Family 4th of July Weekend

My wife and I were able to host all 5 of our adult children and 2 spouses for a family gathering. Awesome house. Massive dining room table seemed to always have someone at it eating or playing games. The billiard room was a big hit as well. We even played a murder mystery game set in a mansion. Excellent host and property was very clean.

Perfect pairing of history and fun!

This 1895 historic inn blended vintage with modern convenience perfectly! Everything was well maintained, clean and inviting. Location was perfect for those that wanted to explore downtown and Canal Park without being right in the thick of it, as well as for those that wanted quick access to travel farther up the north shore. With 5 bedrooms and 5 baths it accommodated the four couples in our group easily, and having the rest of the house to ourselves was so much more intimate than staying in a hotel. Our hosts were welcoming, accommodating and responsive. We would highly recommend the Inn to anyone looking for a fun place to gather with a larger group.

Perfect family escape

We enjoyed our stay and spent time out on the front porch just catching up as we sipped our coffee and planed our days. The location is very convenient for heading out to the north shore and when heading down to the downtown area. Good restaurants and coffee shops are nearby. We had an enjoyable stay. The kids loved the house.

Fun at the haunted mansion

Why they chose this property

We began making regular visits to Duluth years ago and fell in love with the landscape, city and all there is to do here - from hiking, sailing, camping and skiing to simply enjoying the sounds of the waves and ships. Our kids fell in love with Duluth on our many adventures here over the years as well and now attend UMD. We knew that someday we would have to eventually call this place home. While maintaining our current home and this home in Duluth we are finally making it happen.
