Your stay in Villa Kristina is self- catered; you will find that the house is equipped with a everything that it is needed to make your stay comfortable!

The villa has been thoughtfully designed and planned. All principal rooms both on the ground floor and first floor bedrooms have double doors opening into balconies/terraces, all with sea views. There are magnificent views across to Almyros Bay (70 km) and mountain views.

Outside are 3 pergolas areas (all with lights and electric sockets) with numerous seating options for those relaxing al fresco meals, all overlooking the pool, and with panoramic sea views. Outdoor kitchen and living area (couch, table, chairs, dining table), wood oven and large stone built BBQ and most of these areas receive the villa wi fi signal.

The tiled pool is an integral part of the villa, and is on the same level as the villa. The pool has tiled steps leading into the pool. The pool is the same level throughout of 1.5m

The village is within easy reach where there are a choice of supermarkets, kafeneons and restaurants.

The owners employ a maintenance company who are based in the village who look after the cleaning and smooth running of the villa.
The owners provide a WiFi Internet connection (provided free of charge) TV Satellite, Smart TV.

The owners provide liquid soap, shower gel, shampoo and laundry soap.
The owner provide sugar, salt, oil and vinegar, kitchen and toilet roll.
The owner provide a welcome guests with a small "Welcome Pack".
From 1/1/2025 the Greek Government has increased the "climate resilience tax" to € 15 per night for the period 1/4-31/10/2025. The tax is € 4 per night for the remaining months. The owner will remit this tax to the Greek Tax Authorities.

An excellent stay

Villa Kristina has a wonderful pool and outside area, located in a very rural location which is peaceful with stunning views out to sea to the North. The interior offered everything we needed, it is dated and the bathrooms are quite small but all that we needed for a family stay. Stella was an excellent host where nothing was too much trouble and excellent communication and recommendations. Thank you.

Lovely home!

Villa Kristina was a wonderful base for our first trip to Crete, we could have stayed for much longer! We loved the views of the sea, the stars at night, the pool, and exploring the nearby beaches and towns. Stella was very helpful with many recommendations that made for a great stay!

Great stay at Villa Kristina

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Kristina for a week as a group of friends along with our small toddler. The pool and view beyond it are fantastic, Stella is a very helpful and kind host and it's in good striking distance of many nice beaches / swimming spots, as well as a both Rethymno and Chania. Wouldn't hestitate to recommend!

You couldn’t ask for anything more. The villa was stunning. We didn’t won’t for anything. It had everything you need and more. August 2022 family holiday

We had a fantastic stay at Villa Katrina. Stella provided so much useful information about the villa, car hire, local area and things to do, both upfront and during our stay - nothing was too much trouble and any queries/issues were all sorted very promptly. The villa itself was fantastic - very comfy beds and sun beds, fantastic views and great pool and outdoor areas. The pizza oven was a big hit! The village is also lovely - all the locals very friendly and two great restaurants. Overall just what we all needed for our first holiday abroad in three years - thank you. Hopefully we will be back!!

Don't Freeze in Greece

Everything Stella wrote in the ad is true. It is a wonderful, clean and comfortable house with plenty of nice places to stay inside and expecially outside. The view from the balcony, the pool and the terraces to the sea is unforgettable. Stella, the landlady, is only as far away as your mobile phone is. She knows perfecty well all you can imagine about places to go and things to see. Couldn't be more helpful from the distance. Just in time via WhatsApp. Thank you for everything! Kefalas Villa

Beautiful villa with stunning views. After an early hours arrival it was fab to wake up to Greek sunshine, a cooling breeze and essentials in the fridge. The villa was immaculate and the many outdoor seating areas allowed family members shade throughout the day. The village of Kefalas was a pleasant 10 minute stroll and contained two small supermarkets and an amazing Taverna- Metepizi. We ate there on several occasions and could not fault the food and helpful owners. Nearest beaches were Almyrida- thin sandy beach but lovely shallow calm water. We ate there a couple of evenings on the shore which was most pleasant. Georgioupolis is bigger and busier and the water is more choppy. Overall we loved the villa and its location but the roads up to Kefalas are quite winding in places - which you need to get use to. Thank you to Frank and Christine for their help and advice .

Cretan Gem

We chose this property as we had stayed in a neighbouring property the previous year and enjoyed the village and surrounding area, and wanted to return. Villa Kristina did not disappoint! It is in a quiet, private area with views out over the sea and down the coast towards Rethymno, but within easy walking distance of the village centre, with landscaped garden and welcoming pool. The house itself is very tastefully decorated and is equipped for a family stay. The owner has been incredibly easy to contact and has been welcoming and helpful throughout the process and stay. The surrounding towns and villages of the Apokorokos area are charming, welcoming, and with tavernas almost everywhere you go. The property is also well situated for trips to the bigger towns of Chania and Rethymno, and also, for the active/adventurous, the many amazing natural activities on offer in western Crete, including the Samaria and Imbros gorges, many watersports, etc. My only reservation in recommending this property so highly is my selfish desire to return there, and be able to keep it all to myself when booking!

V. Kristina - where better to unwind & reconnect?

We refilled our empty nest at Villa Kristina for a 10 day vacation with our 3 'kids' (25, 23, 19). The villa is very well appointed and more than adequate for a family of 5 adults. We were especially grateful for its peaceful location to come back to after the hustle and bustle of the surrounding attractions. The various outdoor seating/eating areas around the villa are a great idea as is the outdoor BBQ/oven. The facilities in the village are limited but adequate, and one couldn't wish for a better family-run taverna than Meterizi. The small taverna at Ombrogialos some 10 minutes from the villa by car is also a must-visit - the best fresh seafood we had during the trip. We also greatly enjoyed the beach near Pirgos that was recommended by Frank and Christine in their villa file. In addition to the local interests in Chania, Kalyves and Giorgioupoli we took full day trips to Knossos and the Samaria Gorge that were well worth the effort. The latter is not for the faint-hearted when its pushing 35C in the shade! Christine and Frank couldn't do enough to ensure the booking process and vacation itself went as smoothly as possible with all questions being answered very promptly. We would have no hesitation in recommending Villa Kristina to family and friends if looking for a quality property in a peaceful location in a wonderful part of the world. Claire & Allan S.

Traumhafte Villa in ruhiger Lage

Die Villa Kristina liegt in ruhiger Lage am Berg mit einem schönen Blick aufs Meer und den Sonnenaufgang. Der Ort Kefalas ist klein, verfügt über gemütliche Tavernen und zwei Minimärkte und ist in ca 15 Gehminuten zu erreichen. Die Villa ist komfortabel ausgestattet. Waschmaschine, Spülmaschine etc. und auch Geschirr ist reichlich vorhanden. In den drei Schlafzimmern gibt es große Schränke, um alles gut zu verstauen und auch die Betten sind äußerst bequem. Der Außenbereich ist abwechslungsreich gestaltet. Es gibt einen großen Pool mit Sonnenliegen und Schirmen sowie mehrere überdachte und sonnengeschützte Sitzplätze. Die Outdoorküche mit Grill, Pizzaofen. Spülbecken und großem Sitzbereich ist perfekt für ein gemütliches Abendessen. Zur Einstimmung auf unseren Urlaub erhielten wir von Gastgeberin Stella vorab sehr viele Informationen (empfehlenswerte Tavernen, Ausflugstips, nützliche Allgemeinfos). Auch während unseres Aufenthaltes war sie jederzeit ansprechbar und sehr bemüht, uns einen perfekten Aufenthalt zu bieten. Wir haben uns in der Villa Kristina sehr wohl gefühlt und einen wundervollen Irlaub verbracht. Herzlichen Dank :-)

Traumhaft schöne Villa

Wir verbrachten gemeinsam mit unseren 18 + 21 Jahre alten Töchtern 2 herrliche Wochen in dieser schönen Villa. Alles entspricht genau der Beschreibung. Ein sehr schöner Pool mit einem traumhaften Blick aufs Meer. Wie beschrieben, sind fußläufig einige Tavernen und kleine Lebensmittelgeschäfte erreichbar. Gastgeberin Stella hat uns mit unzähligen Tipps für Restaurants und Ausflüge versorgt und war bei Fragen jederzeit erreichbar. Wir können diese schöne Villa absolut weiter empfehlen.

Sehr schöne Villa in traumhafter Lage

Wir sind als 5-köpfige Familie mit 3 Kindern im Alter von 16-20 Jahren hier im August 2021 gewesen. Die Villa liegt in dem kleinen Ort Kefalas, in dem es einige Ferienhäuser gibt und der am oberen Ende und Hang der Steilküste westlich von Georgioupolis liegt. Daher hat das Ferienhaus, das in erster Reihe am Hang liegt, einen traumhaften Blick über das Meer bis nach Rethymnon mit einem ebenso traumhaften Sonnenaufgang über dem Meer. Die Villa ist mit 3 Schlafzimmern, zwei Bädern und einem Wohnesszimmerbereich mit Küche ausgestattet. Die Räumlichkeiten sind eher eng aber völlig ausreichend und in der Ausstattung einschließlich Klimaanlagen in den Zimmern fehlt es an nichts. Für ein besseres Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis wären unsere Wünsche noch eine zeitgemäßere Kaffeeautomatvariante als die vorhandene klassische Filtermaschine und in den Schlafzimmern wären Moskitonetze an den Fenstern / Türen noch praktisch gewesen. Das WLAN ist nicht super schnell aber an einigen Stellen im 1. Stock gibt es auch gutes 4G/LTE. Im Freien befinden sich mehrere Esstische mit Überdachung oder natürlicher Beschattung, was sehr schön ist und einen wunderbaren, großen Pool mit Blick auf das Meer. Die Villa wird von einer englischen Kommunity regelmäßig betreut, der Pool regelmäßig gepflegt und nach einer Woche erfolgte eine Zwischenreinigung. In Kefalas befinden sich in Laufweite ein paar typische, urtümliche Restaurants und zwei kleine Supermärkte. Die Fahrt nach Georgioupolis dauert ca. 15min. Nach Chania oder Rethymnon sind es etwas weniger als 1 Stunde, so dass die Sehenswürdigkeiten im Westen und Südwesten Kretas alle gut erreicht werden können. Insgesamt waren wir sehr zufrieden und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen.

Wunderbare Villa auf Kreta

Wir haben eine wunderbare Woche in der Villa Kristina verbracht. Das Haus ist hervorragend ausgestattet, mit Spülmaschine und Waschmaschine, zwei Bädern und Schlafzimmern mit sehr guten Matrazen. Der wunderschöne Pool war der Hit bei unseren Kindern und uns, da er gross genug zum Schwimmen war. Der gesamte Aussenbereich ist wunderschön angelegt und bietet jede Menge Rückzugsmöglichkeiten und ausreichend Schatten zu jeder Tageszeit. Wer dem Trubel der Touristenhotels entkommen möchte is hier genau richtig. Das morgendliche Schwimmen in der nahegelegenen Bucht war unser tägliches Highlight. Die Kommunikation mit Stella, der Vermieterin war vorbildlich.

Der perfekte Urlaub

Alles war fantastisch. Das Haus liegt fernab vom Massentourismus in einem malerischen kleinen Dorf. Es hat an nichts gemangelt. Perfekt ausgestattet, super bequeme Betten und ein unvergleichlicher Ausblick. Wer Ruhe sucht, ist hier richtig! Stella hat uns von der ersten Minute an supported und mit Tipps unterstützt. Wenn es ein Problem gab, wurde dieses sofort gelöst. Ich kann gar nicht in Worte fassen, wie wunderbar dieser Urlaub war. Ein großes Danke! Wir kommen wieder!

Why they chose this property

This property has fantastic views across the bay with 70km sea and mountains. The villa is on the edge of an old traditional village and has 2 supermarkets and a good traditional restaurant. It is in a quiet tranquil location but with easy access to all facilities. There is also a walk-in Health centre in the village of Vamos which is nearby and is open 24/7. Nearest beach 11mins away by car. The pool is on the same level as the house and outdoor living area and kitchen making it easy for access and to monitor if needed. The pool water is the same level as the paving around with steps leading in making access very easy for all members of the family.
The Villa is carefully cleaned and disinfected in every part at each check-out and subsequent check-in with water and suitable detergent (WHO).

The Owner provides Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) typically includes: disposable single-use gloves and masks.

What makes this property unique

When the house was being built we it was an important requirement for us to have a tiled concrete pool with easy access from the villa and for it be built at the same level of the house. We have recently had work done installing an outdoor kitchen and dining/lounge area which comprises a wood fired oven and a large stone BBQ. This area is attached to the house and close to the kitchen so it makes cooking and living outside very convenient. The wi fi can pick up the internet outside living area so that you can to listen to your favourite radio station.
We also extended the upstairs balcony and now it can seat 6+ people around the table and has fantastic views and is shaded in the afternoon when the sun is it its hottest.
The oven is suitable for pizzas (as well Greek style Sunday roast dinners) and we make them as a family and all join in adding our favourite topppings to them. The children love getting involved with the cooking and we as parents have the time to devote to them during this relaxing holiday time which makes for a very enjoyable and unique experience for us and our children. We can leave instructions on how to fire up the oven and BBQ as well some of our favourite recipes. Children can easily make the pizza dough and they can add their own favourite toppings and share their pizzas they have made with the rest of their family (please request the information pack so we can make sure you understand how it all works.

The gardens are now mature with pomegranate, orange, and lemon trees so these can be picked and eaten or used in your drinks!
