About the host
Hosted by Kendra Rickert
I was born and raised here in the North Valley then left New Mexico after college to live in Los Angeles, New York, and Arizona. My husband and I returned home to be near family and to start one of our own. My father built this casita and the house next door some 20 years ago. My husband and I lived in this casita with our baby son and my father lived in the bigger house next door. We soon grew out of the little casita and now live a few miles away. It is our pleasure to welcome you to our families home! We now own a yoga studio in town. We are here to help you have a wonderful experience in Albuquerque
Why they chose this property
The North Valley is my favorite neighborhood in ABQ. There are many hidden gems that we are happy to help you find. The Rio Grande Nature Center is just about a mile away. Once there you can take a walk down by the river sit in their meditation area and watch the turtles. The acequias (ditches) are where the locals take their morning and evening walks. We are happy to tell you how to get there! There are so many great restaurants and attractions near by! If you want to try authentic New Mexican food then you are a hop, skip, and a jump near by some of the best restaurants in town!
What makes this property unique
Our little casita is an authentic New Mexican adobe house. The walls are thick which provides a quiet space for our guests. The walls keep the home cool in the summer months and warm in the winter months. The back yard is newly landscaped and the back porch is perfect for dinners or for sitting with your morning coffee. We know and love all of our neighbors. Some have lived there for over sixty years. We are a tight little community who still brings each other tamales on Christmas Eve and who take care of each other. They are happy to welcome you to the neighborhood!
