About this property

Unique, Silver Lake Tree House in popular beach town. It's one of a kind.

After a day on the water or adventuring in the dunes enjoying all the activities Silver lake has to offer, you may just need a little escape.

Right off the main road, your wooded retreat awaits at these two adjoining octagon houses in the trees. The Silver Lake Tree House is accessed by stairs from three decks. On the main floor are two bedrooms and two showers/ bathrooms.

Upon entry of the main unit, is the kitchen, dining, sunken conversation fireplace area. The living areas all radiate from the central hub of the fireplace, so you’re always in “Circulation” with an open floor plan plus one of the bathroom/showers.

Down a short hall, in the adjoining unit, Bedroom # 1 has two queen beds, one of which has a full size loft bed overhead. The second bedroom, is through the second bathroom,, at the end of the hall with one queen bed.

For the more adventurous, the third bedroom with queen size bed, is up the spiral staircase where the view of Silver Lake dunes is over the Tree Tops!

Whether you're looking to relax on the decks, one faces the main road where you can watch the dune buggies go by. The other overlooks the new hot tub, fire pit facing the wooded back lot and full size Tennis/PickleBall Court, or sit in the sunken fireplace nook with a book, the living is easy. A short walk a few cottages down is our Happy Acres HOA private beach to work on your tan or launch one of five kayaks and paddle board into beautiful Silver Lake. Don't forget you sun tan lotion and life jackets.

Afterwards explore the Silver Lake area, Mac Woods Dune Rides, Craig's Cruisers, Putt Putt golf or Golf at Golden Sands, or Frisbee Golf. Be sure to visit The Fox Barn, a unique destination with a wine bar, outdoor patio, and farm market featuring locally grown produce. Return to rehearse the days events by the campfire. The landmark, Silver Lake Tree House has everything you need for a memorable stay.

A really unique and cozy stay close to attractions, the dunes, and a small beach. The fireplace was a big draw for me in the listing so I was disappointed to read it wasn't functional but everything else was great. The stove didn't work but the owner offered to have it serviced while we were there or to bring over a toaster oven. She was very responsive and I'd stay there again for sure! The outdoor areas are superb and the beds were super comfy.

Great Find!

What a delightful find! A last-minute trip for myself, my son, and my grandson led us to The Treehouse — and it couldn’t have been a better choice. The hosts were absolutely amazing, and the bedrooms were cozy with portable AC units to keep us comfortable. The fire pit and decks were perfectly designed for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors, and the property even offers tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts. Its location is ideal — just minutes from great restaurants, charming shops, the dunes, and beautiful Lake Michigan. Highly recommend you check it out and book your stay!

We had an excellent stay at the Tree House. We were there right after Christmas and the house was decorated beautifully for the holiday! It was like walking into Hallmark movie! The host also left us a welcome bottle of wine, sugar cookies to bake if we wanted to and a tray of hot cocoa fixings! Made for a dream holiday trip! Communication was 5 star! We were traveling during the winter which is always a risk in Michigan, but our host sent us weather updates and checked on us before we left since a storm came in. She offered to give us extra time if needed to wait out the storm! I felt very cared for and pampered! Our host also gave us some great ideas for things to do in the area. We took her advice and had an excellent time! We visited the dunes and nearby indoor water park. It was such a great trip, we’re hoping to visit again in the summer!

First time the Tree House has been open in winter in the popular beach town of Silver Lake, Michigan. Amy was able to take advantage of some of those winter activities plus the indoor waterpark at Double JJ resort nearby. We are gratified that she and her guests found the Christmas lights,decor and fireplace inside, "delightful, even though the weather outside was frightful"

The Treehouse is Tops

The Treehouse is a unique rental property. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The host has made this house cozy and comfortable. The living room is large enough for multiple activities to occur at the same time. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable.There are multiple decks to relax on and enjoy different views. The host supplied kayaks, life jackets, pickle ball paddles and tennis rackets for the on site court. Silver Lake is across the street. Lake Michigan is just down the road. Lots of parking. And, the hosts were wonderful.

Rob and I are from West Michigan . We loved camping on the beautiful Lake Michigan lakeshore for many years with our nine children and eighteen grandchildren. For the last nine years we owned and managed a large rental chalet on an inland lake. As much as we loved it there, we were compelled back to the Lake shore. The landmark Silver Lake Tree House seemed a perfect fit with woods and the beautiful waters and sand dunes of Silver Lake Michigan.
To find meaning in life; devote yourselves to God , your family , your commmunity , and find something meaningful to do.
We
Enjoy providing a special place for our family to reconnect with nature, nature’s God, and each other. Sharing it with others who find value in the Tree House is our pleasure, too.

Why they chose this property

From the seclusion of our wooded lot and shade of our many trees you can enjoy the action from afar off the Main Street through town and all the passerby’s. Sit above the crowd and see the dunes over the rooftops. Park your RV or rent one to have delivered, set up and ready for you, pitch a tent on the lot that adjoins the Tree House(s) Eight is our maximum overnight on site at this time.

What makes this property unique

Silver Lake Tree House is a landmark, it stands out and over the rest. As one of The Happy Acres group, it shares access to a small private beach four cottages down. The tree house was designed in 1979 by two art grads from Michigan State University as two octagons connected by a hallway. The main unit has a sunken fireplace seating area as the hub of social activity with the living areas radiating outward around it , you’re always connecting and in circulation. Unless you ascend the spiral staircase to the solitude of the tree tops eagles nest bedroom with view of the dunes or retreat to one of the three multi level decks. There’s always a place for you here.
