Tucked away on a quiet side street between Granite St. and the ocean, this retreat offers the perfect balance of peaceful coastal living and festive charm.
Embrace the brisk New England winter air with a quick 6-minute stroll to Front Beach (be sure to ask us about the secret shortcut!). While the private pool takes its winter slumber, everything that makes Rockport magical in the winter is right at your fingertips. Walk just a couple of minutes further into the heart of town to enjoy a hot coffee & baked goods at Brothers Brew or an incredible warm meal at Feather & Wedge before wandering through the iconic, holiday-lit streets of Bearskin Neck. Explore local artisan boutiques, art galleries, and the famous Motif #1, or catch a world-class winter performance at the Shalin Liu Performance Center.
You can completely leave your car behind. A 7-minute walk up the street brings you to the Whistlestop Mall plaza—your one-stop shop for winter groceries, local beer and wine, pharmacy needs, a local brewery, and a cozy cinema. We loved our stay in Rockport! The home was beautiful and perfect for our family of four. We loved the pool and walking to Mill Pond and Front Beach and enjoying dinner outside in the backyard. Christine and Michael were wonderful hosts and very responsive too - thank you for a lovely week!

The property is comfortable and beautifully decorated. The main attractions within Rockport are all within walking distance and nothing on the entirety of Cape Ann felt more than a 15 min drive away. Great rental and great place to visit.

We loved our stay at this stylish, cozy property! The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. My daughter loved the pool. We appreciated use of the beach chairs and wagon. The proximity to the beach and the train can’t be beat! We needed to contact the owners and they were very responsive. We would love to stay again!

The home was beautiful, well laid out with excellent amenities. My family of four enjoyed the pool, outdoor patio, comfy living area, open kitchen and nice bedrooms. It immediately felt like a home away from home, equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip.The location is unbeatable. It’s convenient enough to pop into downtown Rockport, explore Bearskin Neck, or head down to Front Beach within minutes.Visiting right after Labor Day turned out to be the absolute sweet spot. The summer crowds had thinned out, parking and getting into local restaurants was effortless, and the September weather was crisp and warm. This is the PERFECT house for your vacation! Exactly as described, but even more stunning in person. Our family enjoyed the pool so much, and that is a rare find in Rockport. The hosts definitely went above and beyond with their extra touches like a snack basket when we arrived, a personalized note, and all of their well-appointed details (napkins, beach towels, lots of nice beach gear). The beach truly is only a 5 minute walk, and the town in quintessential New England - fabulous seafood, littles hopes, amazing views. The furniture and decor is beautiful and top quality - everything was super comfortable. Book before it’s gone!

We’ve been coming to the Cape Ann area for 30 years and this home was such a special find for us. A beautiful bungalow with a pool and the ability to walk to the beach and Bearskin Neck is practically unheard of in this area - we couldn’t believe we found all of it in one place.The home itself is absolutely beautiful and incredibly well designed. The layout, style, and thoughtful details throughout made it feel both elevated and comfortable. Being able to walk into Bearskin Neck for shops, restaurants, ice cream, and everything we love about Rockport, then come home and relax by the pool, was pretty hard to beat. One afternoon, our 8 month old needed a nap, so we grabbed lobster rolls and brought them back to enjoy poolside - honestly, it doesn’t get much better than that!Traveling with a baby was also made so much easier by some of the thoughtful extras provided. Having a high chair at the house, along with a beach wagon and chairs for our beach days, was so appreciated and meant less for us to pack.We fell in love with the place so quickly that we knew we wouldn’t want to leave and asked to extend our stay by two nights. Michael and Christine were so accommodating and made it easy. After all these years of coming to Rockport, this place was a rare find. We made wonderful memories here and would stay again in a heartbeat!

We loved our stay here. It's a perfect spot! Close to all the restaurants, galleries and shops in Bear Skin Neck but tucked away in a private setting. The hosts are amazing. We had everything we needed, and they made us feel completely welcome and at home. We will definitely stay again in the future.

Charming is a great description of this bungalow! This house is a bibliophile's dream - a library with a vast and varied collection of books, and a delightful overstuffed recliner that is the perfect place to sit and read. If you can tear yourself away from the books, there is a lovely pool in the back yard waiting for you! The house looks is actually very roomy inside, nicely decorated, comfy beds, a well stocked kitchen, convenient location, and a short walk to the beach. We LOVED it!!

The owners have done a wonderful job of furnishing this property. The swimming pool is amazing! It's an easy walk to downtown Rockport and all the attractions there, as well as to the town beach. Plus a whole room full of books.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. The kids were in the pool constantly…and had plenty of floaty’s to keep them occupied. The house was lovely and had everything you could need like beach towels, bath towels, snacks, laundry detergent, beach chairs, etc. We would definitely stay again.

This was the most beautiful, easy, well stocked and comfortable VRBO we’ve ever stayed. We wanted to just move in!! We swam, BBQ’d, cooked & baked, read in the library, read outside of the library, watched a little TV, listened to and watched the morning range of birds, slept, stretched, sun bathed, relaxed and simply enjoyed every moment there. This place is SO lovely.We did also get to walk to the beach and around the neighborhood (& to the local ice cream!!), but mostly we were spending time out with family which meant leaving the house each day. (We enjoyed various aspects of Rockport & Gloucester, including some delicious restaurants). We want to come back just to spend more time lounging at “home”. Every detail of this bungalow is designed for ease, comfort and beauty. A perfect synergy. Thank you!

We both grew up and still live just outside of Boston. We met when we were in highschool and married in Gloucester in 2017 by Niles Beach on Eastern Point Blvd. Mike is a firefighter and carpenter, Christine is a dental assistant and personal trainer. We both love working out, walking our dog Arnold, trying new restaurants, traveling and home design. We bought and renovated our first rental in Gloucester in 2021 and are looking forward to showing guests our new project! We love wowing our guests and giving them the best experience possible. Positive feedback is the greatest gift!

Why they chose this property

What we love about this property and this neighborhood is that it’s quiet, off the main street-but yet so close to all that Rockport has to offer! The beach, Bearskin Neck, the park & the train are all within walking distance! There is a cut through at the end of what seems like a dead end street to get you to the beach quicker.

What makes this property unique

The property is more than meets the eye! Past guests have loved the library and the large in-ground pool in the sunny backyard! To be able to choose between Front Beach and your own private pool is rare in Rockport. We also added a beautiful gas fireplace to the living room which makes for a lovely & cozy fall and winter visit.
