About this property

Spacious and bright mountain house near Hunter and Windham

Relax and unwind in this light-filled 4-bedroom house, complete with wraparound deck and huge yard.

The newly renovated main house features two rooms with king beds, one with an en-suite bathroom and one adjacent to a room with bunk beds and a desk. The fourth bedroom has a double bed. The high-ceiling great room has a woodburning fireplace stove inside, and a large wraparound deck and fire pit outside.

The kitchen is stocked for a chef, or eat out at any of the highly rated restaurants of Tannersville, just down the road. Hunter Mountain is 10 minutes away; Windham is 15. In the summer there are hiking trails galore, including one a short walk down the hill that takes you along Rip Van Winkle Lake to the Boathouse restaurant, a playground, and pickleball courts.

Please note that the house is adjacent to a studio apartment, which is not for rent. While the main house and the studio share a foyer and a driveway, the properties are completely separate and private.

In any season, this house is the perfect place for a tranquil getaway!

Load and start the dishwasher

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Turn off the lights and lock the doors

All garbage and recycling goes in the outdoor shed to the left of the garage (if you’re facing the house). Please put garbage into the bins and leave recycling on the floor.

PLEASE be sure the bins are closed and the shed doors securely latched; the wildlife would love to get into the garbage if they can! I will charge for cleanup if the garbage is not dealt with properly

Hang used towels on hooks or doorknobs in the bathrooms. For any beds that were slept in, please leave the blankets down to indicate that the sheets are dirty (no need to remove sheets). Thank you!

This house was Catskills perfection! High ceilings, lovely light, great deck. Host was great, house was super clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. The location is ideal too: You can easily drive into Tannersville, which has great restaurants, and skiing is so close! Would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our stay at this Catskills ski house! The home was clean, cozy, perfectly located, and the host was wonderful! Fellow dog lovers should know there's a separate studio apartment on the property with a very sweet, playful beagle who was clearly excited by our dogs and eager to say hello - we'd happily come back!

Incredible property! Beautiful outdoor spaces and the cleanest, most comfortable rental that we can recall. The home is well stocked with everything you could possibly need for a cozy, quiet stay, and is literal minutes from a delicious diner and lots of shopping and eating options. Perfect hiking options for all levels were a short drive. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful. Would love to stay at this property again sometime!

I am a research director at a small nonprofit in New York City, and I live just outside the city in New Jersey. My family and I love coming upstate anytime we can to enjoy the mountains and being together away from the craziness of daily life.

Why they chose this property

The town of Tannersville, in Hunter NY, has everything one could want for an upstate getaway: hikes down to swimming holes and waterfalls in the summer, skiing in the winter, top-tier restaurants, and all of the amenities that modern life demands, like convenience stores and lighting-speed wifi.

If you need a gallon of milk or firewood, there is a Stewart's on 23A less than five minutes from the house, and a quality diner that does takeout pizza around the corner the other direction.
