Tangerine Eugene Guesthouse - central Eugene, Pet yes, bikes, near UO & downtown
Tangerine Eugene is in the heart of the bustling Whitaker neighborhood, blocks from downtown, 1.5 mi to Univ. of Oregon. This fully renovated 1915 guest house is less than a block from eateries, vibrant nightlife, cafes, and is a few blocks to breweries like Ninkasi Brewing, Hop Valley Brewing & Oakshire Brewing yet is nestled in a unique neighborhood. It has a fully fenced and private yard, kitchenette, Wi-Fi , TV and two bikes (the Willamette River Trail is a few blocks away!). Tangerine was built in 1915. In 2023, the house was in terrible shape; the floors were partially dirt and the roof had a tarp on it. In 2024 and the beginning of 2025 we worked on the house with the help of several Eugene carpenters, plumbers, and electricians (we still had full time jobs ourselves). This house is our only Vrbo and we love it.

Great stay, would stay there again. Owner was wonderful
Clean, excellent location, and communication. The park with bike path is near and the bikes were provided. Good night life and walkability was a 10. We will definitely be back!
My wife and I had a great weekend in the Tangerine! It was exactly what we needed for going to a football game. Clean, easy access, and great communication! Location is great for going to Oregon athletic events. I highly recommend!

About the host
Hosted by Shell
This is my only VRBO and I love hearing the stories of the people coming to stay. I love Eugene! Two of my kids who live in Eugene (one is a current Duck and the other was a Duck 8 years ago). I still live in Portland but I hope to retire in Eugene and I try to come down two or three times a month.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with the neighborhood because it is in the middle of everything (!) and I can walk to listen to live music, play pinball and get a cafe but it is also safe because it is in a neighborhood. There is nothing like this in Portland at all. I think Eugene is just the right size to have this special balance of safety yet in the middle of it all.
What makes this property unique
It was built in 1915 and it is bright orange. It is quite bright inside as well. I think it is fun. Also, you'll love having a 6 foot fence all around you.... total privacy.
