This place was a great find for me and my dogs. We were in a bind and needed a place to stay while our home was being renovated. The yard was the selling point, which was lovely. The unit, itself, was well equipped with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. The only downside is that it's in a neighborhood with very few sidewalks, so it's hard to walk dogs safely, No real complaints, but as a former Superhost on Airbnb, here are some suggestions to make the place even better:1) get carpets cleaned or replaced; if you replace it, don't get beige carpet (hard to keep clean)2) have shampoo, conditioner, lotion for short-term guests, which is standard at most hotels3) have more than 3 pillows for the bed4) have more than one set of towels5) since you have a dishwasher, have dishwasher detergent available 6) since you have a coffee maker, have coffee supplies available Thanks again for a great stay! We really appreciated your help during a difficult transition time. Would strongly recommend to others.

On December 20, a tree fell and crushed the front of our motorhome. We needed another plan for our annual January 1 State of Our Union trip. We knew nothing about Martinez, except that John Muir had lived there. We found this place was available, lovely and had a nice fenced yard for our dog. Dustin was very responsive, answered all our questions and made our reservation, check in and stay simple. The apartment is complete, part of a century old house, with a good kitchen, comfortable bed and nice bath. The location is great; a quick walk to the John Muir National Historic Site, and a few minutes drive to downtown Martinez. Lots to explore here, good hiking and beautiful views from the hills. We'll be back!

The space was very small. It was not obvious how to turn any heat on (remote didn't appear to function). After one cold night called owner (easy to reach) and he replied that other clients had pointed the remote towards the vent high on the wall near the ceiling (no thermostat) and that did work. We turned off the refrigerator at night because it was so loud. No hangers in the closet. Bath water could only get warm. Coffee maker, but no mugs. No mat for wet shoes inside by the door and there was carpet. Fancy washer and dryer but no detergent. Photo is misleading- there is now construction and construction vehicles surrounding the house.
