Really good stay, the only thing is that the house was not as clean as it looked in pictures which is fine because we cleaned for our comfort once we arrived either way. As well the heater unit broke , and the host definitely went out of their way to get it fixed on a holiday and brought temporary heating units for the mean time so it meant a lot to see them go above and beyond especially during the holiday times. I would simply ask the communication team do better at responding time since we were a bit stressed at first not knowing when they would respond to our concerns but overall we enjoyed the home and the stay. Home was very cozy and beautiful!
We arrived to this home with a family of five only to find about three or four bath towels two of which looked like beach towels left by another guest, and underclothes thrown in a closet apparently left by the last guest. Three of four bedrooms had top spreads and no sheets the fourth had sheets and no spread. Needless to say after a full inspection of the house we found a washer full of laundry and a dryer load of bed linens. The place was full of dust and the shower still had the washing sponges, I’m guessing from the last guest, although the owner, whom I immediately, contacted assured me that they clean the shower with steamers. Since we had access to a stove I thought it’d be good to bake some chocolate chip cookies for a snack one evening but when I opened the oven storage rack to find a cookie sheet, it looked as if it had not been cleaned in months and I’m not exaggerating! I’m thankful for a family dollar where we purchased towels and wash cloths, as well as pillows for three rooms that looked like they were purchased from a yard sale. Lastly the air conditioning worked very down stairs but as soon as we climbed the flight of stairs it became a sauna. To the owners/renters of this property I’d like to let you know that we left the pillows, and wash linens that we couldn’t pack up and we left your property in better shape than we found it!
House is for sale with the sign up and the yard of rocks has many weeds growing through. The rooms were spacious enough, but I'm not sure if there was any clean up after the last people. Beer bottles behind one bed, wet towels in the washer, no face cloths or hand towels, only bath. Spilled juice, I hope, on the inside of the bottom of the freezer. All plug in air fresheners were empty. Major dust under TV, all light switches and wood by the doorknobs were filthy with prints and dirt smears. After 5 days of thinking there were only a few plastic silver wares and a few silver knives, found all the other utensils and dishes still in the dishwasher from before us. The headboard with the king bed had a fake leather look that was peeling off onto the bed sheets, looks horrible and should just be removed. Long blinds from Dining room into backyard and in master room were missing a few blinds each. Kitchen table had white stuff on it. Back yard and BBQ was dirty and gross and not taken care of at all. Master sink had some stuff..bug or what ever stuck in in. Yellow dripping from bathtub, not sure what it was but didn't take one. The sliding door to veranda didn't lock. Bad info was given on wifi, couldn't contact host until later. Got locked out coming back from late dinner due to battery on lockpad. Took awhile to get responses from host through expedia. My phone wasn't upgraded enough, so luckily I was able to finally get in by someone elses phone.
