Serenity Lane, Kangaroo Valley

Serenity Lane Cottage is located in the secluded Cedars Valley at the very northern reaches of Kangaroo Valley. From the minute you arrive in the valley the rolling green hills and epic sandstone escarpment dominate the view. Serenity Lane is surrounded by farmland where cows and wombats graze together. Our newly built farmhouse has a modern vintage vibe, with heritage features and a modern spacious layout, featuring cathedral ceilings and picture windows to draw the splendid views into the living space.

Equiped with a modern kitchen, the farmhouse has plenty of space to entertain, flowing out onto the alfreso area where you can sit back and watch the mist roll in. The farmhouse has 3 double bedrooms featuring 2 queen beds and 2 single beds/ extendable daybed. The French provincial inspired bathroom offers a clawfoot bath for a late afternoon soak after a day of exploring the local area.

We had a wonderful 3 nights stay at Karen and Ben’s beautiful cottage, and we absolutely loved it.The location is so peaceful and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful greenery and stunning mountain views. One of the highlights was watching the fog roll across the mountains during the day — it created such a beautiful and tranquil atmosphere.We were also lucky enough to see kangaroos and wombats around the property, which made the stay even more special, especially for our family.Karen was incredibly kind, friendly and responsive whenever we messaged her, which made everything very easy and comfortable from the beginning.We would absolutely recommend this place to any family looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway, surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery. Exceeded expectationsThis is one of those places that is even better than the photos. Beautifully designed and styled, incredibly peaceful and set in the most spectacular location with views you could stare at for hours. We stayed for three nights with our two teenagers and felt at home the minute we walked in. Everything has been thought through, down to the smallest details, The fireplace was a highlight and kept the whole house cosy, although there's central heating if you need it. It is 10-15 minutes from Kangaroo Valley, tucked away down a quiet country road, it has that rare feeling of being completely removed from the world.

Relaxing retreat

Our family had a relaxing stay. Beautiful walking trails, wombat spotting and star gazing. Close to little towns for cafe breakfast or shopping to stock up and just stay in the beautiful accommodation. Would definitely stay again.

Great small getaway with friends

Wonderful place to stay. Saw many local wildlife including wombats (after dusk) and kangaroos. House very well furnished and we enjoyed using the fireplace. No issues whatsoever and internet plenty fast.

The location is fantastic. You feel like you are very remote, yet 15 mins from Kangaroo Valley. The house was perfect for our group of 3 couples, with everything we needed. Karen and Ben were the perfect hosts.

Serene Weekend

Had a lovely stay on this property, and was very happy with the booking, check-in processes. Hosts were super fast responding to any questions. Slight room for improvement with kitchen appliances and the presence of a BBQ (which was in the pics but not on site).

So sorry you missed out on having a BBQ - the old BBQ has been retired this winter. A smaller portable one is available on request - next time just give us a call and we’ll let you know where it is. Winter is not usually high demand for BBQ equipment so it was packed away. Re the kitchen appliances - not sure what we were missing for you. The near new SMEG cooker/oven has done some spectacular Christmas dinners and birthday celebrations for our family and friends, the Fisher and Paykel dishwasher is a luxury for a country house on tank water and the fully stocked kitchen (including Royal Doulton Crockery) and all the herbs and spices you need, is ample for a weekend getaway.

Outstanding wildlife viewing! Wonderful home to stay in.

Fantastic home in an amazing valley of beauty and serenity. Every evening at dusk, whether in the backyard or the fields just in front of the entrance to the driveway, you’ll see lots of kangaroos roaming about as well as those adorable wombats. Coming from the USA it was a special treat to experience this wildlife. Whether sitting on the patio with coffee in the morning or sipping wine in the evening, the scenery and tranquillity was exceptional. Karen was super responsive with any questions we had. Would absolutely stay here again.

An amazing location and wonderful house. A great weekend escape to the country.

Our family of 5 spent two days at Serenity Lane and loved it. The house is set up to easily accommodate 5/6 people and there was plenty of space. The kitchen made cooking meals easy, and the open plan layout downstairs was great. There were board games, books and DVD's to keep us entertained as the rain came down and the kids loved pointing out the local wildlife. Wallabies, Wombats, Echidnas, Cows and the odd crackle of cockatoos kept things interesting. Kangaroo Valley town is only a 10-15 minute drive away and Fitzroy Falls and Manning lookouts (less than 30 mins away) were the highlight of the trip. An afternoon cup of tea (or bubbles) looking out over the rolling grassy hills towards the escarpment brings new meaning to the word Serenity. Karen was a great and communicative host, and everything was as described. We truly enjoyed our time at Serenity Lane, and looking forward to coming back. The Cassis Family.

Weekend away

Lovely house and relaxing location to stay. Only thing was the road closure and difficulty of getting in and out when we had wedding commitments in town but this had nothing to do with the house or hosts.
