About the host

I was born and raised in the State of Maine living most of my life in Southern Maine. I was introduced to Moose Pond as a child in the early sixties as my grandparents purchased a lot here from Arthur Swan the developer of Swan Road and Cygnet Drive known as Swans Development at that time. They purchased a triple lot from Mr Swan which would be 150 ft of Waterfront and built their new home which is Two lots Down from Rob's place. That house still stands and is owned and occupied by relatives currently. I used to visit here during the summer with my grandparents and always look forward to a week or two in this beautiful place. I had the opportunity to buy Rob's place as it's called now from a friend in 1992. When I bought it it was a 17x22 building frame partially on tree stumps, a real Maine camp. It was complete with two light bulbs a wood stove a hand pump in the kitchen and an outhouse. After years of Renovations it's evolved into what the seen here today and it has been a great getaway for my family and young children as we had spent as much time here as possible. My children are now grown and on with families of their own. I gave Rob's Place its name in memory of my oldest son Robert A.Sylvester ll (Rob) who bought this place from me in the year 2020. I bought it back from his estate after his passing July 9th of 2024 and decided to use it in this way to preserve it so it would be available for the rest of my family in the future. I now offer it for others to enjoy and the opportunity to make memories of your own. Please enjoy the the calls of the Loons especially early mornings or at sunset this area is also a very popular Eagle nesting area and it's not uncommon to see Eagles daily also enjoy spectacular Sunsets beautiful Moose Pond the fresh air and mother nature at her absolute finest . I live in the neighborhood and enjoy all Mother Nature has to offer year-round.

Why they chose this property

This location has it all beautiful Moose Pond 40 ft from your front door some of the best fishing in Maine also a beautiful layout for family outside activities barbecues , canoeing , kayaking, boating or a good old-fashioned swim in the pond

What makes this property unique

Rob's place is a year-round house which still possesses that camp feel. You're only steps away from the water's edge and the Sandy Beach 40 ft to be exact . You can launch your boat or other watercraft from the property. And the dock provided will hold two up to 20 ft boats. Outside fire pit grill picnic table hammock two kayaks and a canoe for your use.
