Nestled in a mountainside neighborhood just outside of downtown Asheville, the Boho Haven in the Trees offers a peaceful yet convenient-to-everything experience. Want to walk or ride bikes downtown? We are just a mile away. Want to chill on a balcony in the trees with a mountain view and a fire pit? We got you. Come experience the luxurious Boho Haven and live life like an Asheville local
This is a private apartment over the carport of the home where we live full-time. You have your own entrance, your own space, and your own private outdoor balcony. You may see us as you come and go and you may hear us occasionally, but the actual space is all yours. Note as a second story unit, there is a set of approximately 15 stairs going up to the apartment.
NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN OR INFANTS. We have a very high balcony with widely spaced, flexible cables as the only barrier, a child could fall through. Also there are 15 or so stairs that are unavoidable and configured in such a way that they are impossible to gate, so an infant/toddler could tumble down. Also, we have multiple bears passing through the yard daily, and while the least of our concerns, add an additional safety concern layer to the scenario.
The back yard is reserved for our two dogs, Pearl (white) and Sprout (brown). Please do not call them to you or venture into the yard to try to interact with them, you are a stranger to them and they can be protective of our property. Many thanks!
We live on property and will be available should you need anything during your stay. We are often hanging out on our covered porch just beyond your entry door, and we'll say hello if we see you! Our dogs are usually there on the porch with us, but an Invisible Fence keeps them from getting to your door. Sprout, the brown dog, is very wary of strangers, so please do not approach us beyond your doorway if she is with us and barking. Pearl, the white dog, is super friendly and you may say hello if she heads your direction to greet you. :)
The house is perched on a hillside amid wooded backyards and low-traffic streets in a welcoming, safe neighborhood a mile from downtown and just over a mile and a half from the iconic Grove Park Inn. It's an easy eight mile drive along a beautiful ridge top road straight to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Bring your bikes (and helmets!) if that's your thing - downtown is a quick ride from here. Or you can heel-toe it as well - a 5-10 minute walk yields multiple dining options, coffee houses, and a wine shop. Walk another 5-10 minutes to the center of downtown Asheville. Ask us how to stay on quiet neighborhood streets and avoid some of the busier thoroughfares on the way downtown. Rideshares are always another option, the ride to town is a mile so it's super-cheap. If you choose to drive, here are the locations of five downtown parking garages:
Wall Street Garage 45 Wall St
Rankin Avenue Garage 68 Rankin Ave
Asheville parking garage 77 W Walnut St
Pack Square Parking 26 Biltmore Ave
College Street Parking Deck 164 College St

Thank you for your patience as we continue to recover from Helene. We lost lots of giant trees in our backyard and debris cleanup is backlogged for years, so you will see piles of wood still present as cleanup is underway. Your unit is not affected in any way.

About the host
Hosted by Kat
I am a native North Carolinian, raised in Charlotte and moved to the Appalachian Mountains in 1993. I have called Asheville home since 2003 and cannot imagine a more perfect place to live. My husband Benji and I are avid outdoor enthusiasts, always planning our next adventure on the river or in the woods. We are also just as happy tooling around town on our bikes, a favorite activity being tapas-hopping downtown for dinner - ask us about it! Why choose one restaurant in this foodie heaven when you can sample several in one night?? I have a passion for sharing this quirky little town with others - I am always happy to provide insider recommendations for food, beverage, outdoor adventure, and anything else you may need to know.
Why they chose this property
This is Asheville's best kept secret neighborhood! Totally safe, quiet part of town, situated between the downtown central business district and the iconic Grove Park Inn. Walk 5-10 minutes to several neighborhood restaurants, a wine shop, a butchery, and bakeries; walk 10 more minutes to downtown Asheville and all the vibrant offerings it has to share.
What makes this property unique
This property combines the best of both worlds - views and quiet you typically get being out in the mountains, but walkable to town in minutes.
