Long Island Retreat at Sunset Landing close to Portland, Maine
Escape to a peaceful Casco Bay Island in Maine and still be only a short Ferry Ride away from Portland, an exceptional culinary and cultural destination!
About The Home:
This 3 bed, 2.5 bath townhome on Long Island has sweeping ocean views and two levels of decks. Two of the bedrooms have full bathroom en-suites and large windows so that the ocean is the last thing you see at at night and first thing you see in the morning. The second floor suite has its own oceanside deck to enjoy. The large first floor deck is off the living room and has a grill and outdoor dining set. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking equipment and utensils so that you don't have to leave the island again if you don't want to. The home also has wi-fi, 3 tv’s, Bose Bluetooth speaker and board games to keep everyone entertained.
The townhomes share a private dock (under repair, expected to be finished May 2026) where you can launch the 2 kayaks that are provided at the house; tie up your own small vessel, or just hang out on and dip your toes in the water.

Long Island, Maine is a year-round island community, established as its own town since it seceded from Portland in 1993.
This home is next to the The Long Island Bakehouse where you can get fresh coffee, baked goods, pizza, great sandwiches, ice cream and discover all the latest island happenings. At the end of the row of townhomes is the island post office- perfect for mailing your postcards!
Other town amenities include a library, historical society, golf cart rentals, and a variety store.
If you want a break from the tranquility of island life, Portland is only a ferry ride away. Hop into town to enjoy one of the country's coziest (USA Today and Travel + Leisure) and best food (Bon Appetit andTravel + Leisure) cities with a great local music scene and artisan shops.
Getting Here and Getting Around:
Mark the start of your stay with a ferry ride to Long Island. You can leave your car behind and settle in to a slow island life. The homes is only 0.2 miles from the ferry terminal. If you wish you can bring bikes or a car, just plan accordingly with the ferry. The island also has golf cart rentals available.
Starting in May 2026 there will be two bikes provided at the house so you can travel around the island with ease.
For the boaters, you can arrange to arrive by your own boat and dock it on the private dock associated with the townhomes. The dock is under repair and expected to be finished in May 2026. Contact the owner if you would like to arrive by your own boat.
