Designer Waterfront Newly Renovated Cottage "ROXABOXEN"

Welcome to Roxaboxen | A Designer’s Oceanfront Sanctuary on Duck Cove

Inspired by the classic children’s book illustrated by Barbara Cooney, Roxaboxen is a beautifully reimagined, interior designer’s cottage offering the ultimate peaceful getaway. Perched privately on the shores of Duck Cove, this island retreat seamlessly blends coastal elegance with thoughtful, creative spaces—perfect for gathering together or escaping for quiet moments of solitude.

The Living Spaces:

First Floor: Steps inside reveal light-filled, open-concept common areas designed for effortless entertaining. A brand-new gourmet kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining and living spaces, complete with a dedicated entertaining bar, a spacious pantry, a coffee station, and a convenient powder room.

The Explorer’s Loft (Second Floor): Nestled between the two upstairs bedrooms, this relaxing library lounge is the heart of the home's creative spirit. It features bookshelves, a game table, and a built-in window seat overlooking the cove—an idyllic nook for reading, working on puzzles, or using the telescope for late-night stargazing.

Lower Level Hangout: Head downstairs to a vibrant, open-concept game room. Outfitted with a brand-new flat-screen TV and a ping-pong table, it’s the ultimate zone for movie nights and friendly competition.

Accommodations & Baths:
With three levels of curated living space, Roxaboxen comfortably accommodates families and groups of all sizes:

First Floor:
1 King Bedroom
1 Queen Bedroom
1 Full Hall Bath (Tub/Shower combo)
1 Powder Room

Second Floor:

While you'll feel worlds away in this peaceful sanctuary, you are only minutes from Acadia's best-kept secrets:

Recently updated and it showed! Beautiful kitchen and lovely decor. Plenty of beds and bedrooms for our party of 8. Brand new appliances - real treat! It’s Maine, so the mosquitos at the door were always ready for the buffet to open! The area was not bike friendly. Would 100% recommend getting bikes in Northeast Harbor and riding the carriage trails directly from there. Most Acadia trails and Bar Harbor were 35 mins away. But plenty of dining options in Southwest Harbor! Host was easy to contact! Loved our visit!

It was a pleasure hosting Gina and her family at Roxaboxen! They were wonderful to communicate with, respectful of the home, and left everything in excellent condition. We truly appreciated how easy they were to host and would be delighted to welcome them back anytime. Thank you for taking such great care of our newly renovated home, and we're so glad you enjoyed your stay in Maine!
