About the host

As a lifelong resident of Mason County I am proud to call Island Lake as my home. I’ve travelled all over the world and gave not found a place more beautiful than Mason County.

I was raised on a family farm in rural Mason County. During my career I was privileged to serve the health care needs of my neighbors. My passion was ensuring quality healthcare was available to my home community and neighbors.

I’ve travelled all over the world and always appreciate returning home to the beauty of Mason County.

Why they chose this property

Island Lake is a community of families that call this place home. I purchased Island Lakehouse from my longtime neighbor. He and his wife lived in the home from 1958 till 2022. He was a WWII veteran arriving at Normandy days after the initial landing. In the home, you’ll find a few of their things honoring them and their legacy. Of note, his wife was my dad’s secretary so I’ve kept her typewriter in the living room.

From the home you may see a variety of birds and wildlife - eagles and osprey feed daily. Otters and beavers, raccoons and deer are regular visitors around the lake. The lake is natural habitat for bass and is stocked with trout.

The lake is a great place to walk or bike. The trail around the lake connects to other paths allowing you to walk for miles. The YMCA and Anytime Fitness are nearby. The disc golf course is within walking distance.

What makes this property unique

Island Lakehouse is a well maintained and clean home suited for families. The detached garage has games, kayaks, SUP, life jackets and much, much more.

The home is close to Olympic National Park, Hood Canal, Olympia. Day trips to Seattle, Pacific Ocean, Port Townsend are doable - each being 1-2 hours drive.
