I had to think a bit on how to write a review on this house. We spend four days in early August as guests. If you are looking for a place that is tucked back in the woods on a beautiful lake in Maine, this would be a house to consider. Very rustic, peaceful setting. Great screened porch and dock/lake access. Host/Mgmt. company was super responsive. Also, easy access to Ellsworth and short drive (30 min) to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We took the kayaks out and swam extensively. WiFi worked great, although is only one older TV. Our only challenge was that we gambled on a house with no AC and lost the weather bet! It was 90 degrees the first few days! Very unusual for that area. We are Southerners used to our AC! That being said, the basement is (recently) finished with four extra beds. We slept down in that cool environment which saved us. House also has plenty of fans. If you are looking for a rustic lake cabin in Maine, this one fits the bill. Just make sure you visit during some cooler months.

Nice lake side cabin

We had a great stay here. A perfect lake side cabin with all the amenities you'll need. Our kids loved casting off the dock. It was nice distance to go to Acadia as well.

Beautiful view

Great place for us to relax and drink our coffee. Close to Acadia , we spent 3 days there. Also, close to Boothbay Harbor and other scenic and pretty towns. It was always good to return to the cabin and relax.

Beautiful view and peaceful vacation

Stunning locale, full amenities, owner responsive to request to check on shower heat. Only suggestion would be to have clear instructions for thermostat and garbage removal. Great for large groups. We hope to visit again!

Beautiful water access, home needs upkeep

We stayed two consecutive years but will not return. It feels the minimal is being done for the home in upkeep and care. The access to the water is the highlight of the stay. If the home is maintained as a rental property it will be a lovely place to stay, but it needs work and a deep, deep clean.
Response from VrboOwner on 2 Aug 2025
Hi Megan. Thank you for your honest feedback. We're sorry to hear that your most recent stay did not meet expectations, especially after returning for a second visit. The home needs more attention in both maintenance and cleanliness. We'll make sure this is passed along to the appropriate team so they can address these concerns and restore the property to the standard it deserves. Your input is appreciated. We look forward to having you again with a much smoother experience.

House on the lake

House was nice, needed some minor repairs, but overall - we had a very good time there. Secluded area, lots of privacy, beautiful lake, we had kayaks, canoe and paddle board available for our use. There was everything that we needed. Would really recommend the house who wants privacy, piece and gorgeous views!

Nice location

This was a beautiful home. It is very secluded but still close to everything. We were not far way from Bangor or Acadia National Park. Easy drives to both. We did experience issues with the heat and delivery of gas but Vacasa did make it right.
