Renovated oceanfront home with stunning view & pebbly beach - snowbird-friendly
Take in a truly stunning view of the ocean inlet, passing lobstermen, and the most beautiful sunsets you've ever seen from this waterfront home on the rocky shores of St. George. This is a place to spend your days swimming, hiking, and collecting sea glass on a private pebbly beach.
Tucked into a thicket of coastal pines, this single-story, oceanfront home sits at the end of a quiet country road that's wonderful for walking, jogging, and cycling. It's a serene spot yet only seven miles south of Thomaston and 10 miles south of Rockland. There's something to explore in every direction, whether you're taking the ferry from Port Clyde to Monhegan Island, visiting the Marshall Point Lighthouse, or dining out in Rockland, Rockport, and Camden.
Begin each day with a fresh cup of coffee outside on the brand-new, 50-foot deck, where you can listen to the waves lap up to the shore and watch the morning sun illuminate the surrounding conservation land. There's a gas grill and ample outdoor seating for lunchtime barbecues, a screened porch where you can retreat with a good book in the afternoons, and a firepit for roasting marshmallows with your loved ones beneath the stars.
Inside, the house has been beautifully renovated with new wood floors, new furnishings, and magnificent ocean views highlighted at every turn. Enjoy a lovely living room with a smart TV, an oceanfront dining space, and a kitchen outfitted with stainless steel appliances (including double ovens and a gas stove), a vintage New England farmhouse sink, and such bonus tools as a Le Creuset Dutch oven and a seafood cooker. High-speed WiFi allows everyone to stay connected and share prized moments during their stay.
The home is also particularly magical for children, offering endless spots to explore as well as an assortment of games, toys, a high chair, a booster seat, a white noise machine, room-darkening shades, a Pack 'N Play, and bunks in one of the bedrooms. The other bedroom is a primary suite that opens to the deck.

We had a lovely stay with our girls at this property. Apple trees in the yard, we walked across the street to the cove and played on the shore. It was a lovely time.
We loved our stay at Turkey Cove. The location close to Port Clyde was fabulous and the house was cute and comfortable. We especially loved the ever changing view of the cove!

Awesome.... loved it here
This is a lovely property and we were fortunate to have the Maine coast on five consecutive sunny, warm days! As we packed up the car to leave it rained briefly.
There are many wonderful walks nearby or a short drive or bike ride away. You really do not have to leave this peninsula to enjoy a holiday.
Perfect clean house with a wonderful view. It was apparent the owners care about the renters, the towels and sheets were crisp and the house looked and smelled fresh. Great morning runs to port Clyde for a captains breakfast at the general store. I loved it here!

COVID Getaway
Locked down for months, we needed a safe, comfortable place to get away and relax. This cottage was perfect as we rested and planned our daily trips to the surrounding local sites.

Charming and comfortable cottage with a great view
We absolutely loved our one week stay at Turkey Cove Cottage. The cottage is situated next to the water and we enjoyed a magnificent view while dining outside on the deck. The kitchen is very well equipped and we found everything we need to cook several meals. We enjoyed exploring the area including Port Clyde, Tenants Harbor, Monhegan Island, Thomaston, Camden, and Rockland. Lots of birds for bird enthusiasts. We will definitely be back!

Lovely stay at Turkey Cove
Beatific spot - quiet, peaceful, and scenic. A short drive from Drift Inn beach, which was perfect for a toddler, esp at low tide - very shallow, lots of sand, etc. Only thing to be aware of is that the location is a solid 25 minutes from Rockland and most other things, so it`s a bit of a drive to go out to eat or get anywhere. Recommend making the trip to McLoons Lobster Shack - so nice, we went twice.

All said and done, we had a great summer holiday in Maine, once again. We’ve been coming for over 15 years now, and Summer Maine has worked with us, year after year, to provide a great experience. This was not our original rental, and we were moved here mid-stay, due to issues with House #1. That said, the home was well appointed, well positioned on the water, and Lesley well cared for by its owners.

Reviewer Comments:
Lovely home with a fantastic location and view. Stocked very well with amenities that made our lives easier. Some updates are needed: the beds are all too short and uncomfortable/sagging. The coaches are old and sag, and there is no TV. We couldn't get the streaming Netflix and DVD player to work. Some cranks on windows were broken and no one came to fix them when requested.
We really enjoyed our stay at Turkey Cove Cottage. As rental property owners ourselves there were a few things we really appreciated and just a couple suggestions.
The things we liked....The outdoor shower is great and since it is on the east side of the property, it warmed up nicely on our Oct mornings! The cottage was nicely decorated and most items were updated. Having washer and dryer was great. The sunset views from deck were fabulous and even got to see the local flock of turkeys a few times! Loved the apple trees too and even enjoyed a couple.
A few suggestions-A smart TV wouldn't be missed. because there is no cable. (which also would have been nice)..the existing TV doesn't allow for the use of any applications not already loaded....Amazon Prime for example. The sofa and chair in the living room are in need of replacement. And, the properties "amenities" needs to be updated....the Washer/Dryer wasn't listed, nor was the coffee pot/hair dryer.....there may be others but these stood out.
All in all, we'd rent this house again!
