Beautiful Mediterranean home. Top of the line kitchen: 48' Subzero refrigerator/freezer, Wolfe range, granite countertops. Cookware and utensils provided.
Large 2-story 'great room', perfect for relaxing with family and friends. Three bedrooms with queen beds. Two large bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom downstairs. All bedrooms have beautiful en-suite bathrooms, with marble and glass shower, heated marble floors. Bathroom #2 upstairs has clawfoot tub. Beautiful hardwood floors throughout (except bathrooms). Ocean views from most of the house. Kitchen nook provides extra seating / work space.

Two story great room with fireplace provides spacious area for relaxing, enjoying ocean view and sunsets.

High quality linens and mattresses (fully encased in zippered, quiet, breathable protective covers that protect from allergens, etc.) .

Beautiful stained glass pieces are displayed. Most are from early 1920s.

Conveniently located. Quiet neighborhood minutes from downtown San Diego, beaches, shopping, entertainment.
There is a studio/workshop in the back of the property; the owners occasionally stay there.
Our home sleeps 6 comfortably (3 bedrooms with queen beds); additional person(s) can sleep on queen inflatable mattress or single mattress in larger bedroom.
If there are young children, please state ages in your request so we can prepare accordingly (eg, put away breakable objects). Thanks.
This is a quiet neighborhood. We respect our neighbors. No excessive noise will be tolerated, and will result in dismissal.
NO SMOKING! One of our daughters is allergic to smoke residue.

Staying at Jennie and Richard’s home was an absolute delight from start to finish. Their European-inspired property is truly one of a kind — impeccably maintained, beautifully curated, and filled with warmth the moment you step through the door. We loved this beautiful house in San Diego! Very close to everything and stunning views of the ocean! Plenty of room for our family of 5. Loved all of the gardens and plants inside. House was clean with everything that we needed and the beds were comfortable. Jennie went out of her way to pick up some grocery items for us as we arrived late on Christmas and everything was closed. Great vacation spot!

Great location

We booked a few days here to move our oldest daughter into college at PLNU. The house was perfectly situated in close proximity to the campus to provide our daughter with a sense of what living in the area would be like and the opportunity to explore the area for places she might like to eat, shop and explore. The house was ideal to accommodate our family of 5 and the hosts were attentive and easily accessible. The daily views of the ocean were absolutely stunning. My favorite part of my time there was to sit on the front porch and watch the sunset. You can also enjoy the sunset from the dining room table!

Labor Day Weekend with College Friends

This property served as a perfect base for best gal friends from college to reunite for a long weekend. We appreciated the Spanish Tudor architecture, incredible view of the ocean, and long walks along the Sunset Cliffs. The home was extremely clean, the beds were comfortable, and we had all the amenities needed to relax and enjoy our stay. Jenny and Richard were on the property (guesthouse) while we were visiting, making is very easy to communicate with them. We would happily return for another visit.

Amazing home and area

We had a wonderful time at this home. It was absolutely beautiful and the area was lovely. We enjoyed walking down to the cliffs every morning and hiking. Everyone in the neighborhood was super friendly. Jennie was an awesome host and had super quick communication. We stayed as a family of 7 and were very comfortable. We hope to be able to stay again in the future.

San Diego Vacay

The house was everything we hoped it would be and more. Very spacious, very clean, and centrally located to the various locations that we were interested in. Close to the San Diego Zoo, Legoland and Sea World. Sunset Cliffs was just a short drive away. It was truly a home away from home with plenty of unexpected extras. We loved staying at this house - perfect for a group of 5-6 people. The bedrooms are comfortable and each has a beautifully updated bathroom. The living room is comfortable and beautiful and the kitchen is large, functional with nice appliances and well equipped. The house is a classic 1920s Spanish style - just what old San Diego should look like, but totally modern on the inside. Location is great - quiet and with a view of the ocean but only 15-20 minutes from downtown and Balboa Park. About 25 minutes to La Jolla and Torrey Pines. Great grocery store around the corner. The owners are very welcoming as well. Would definitely stay here again next time in San Diego with a group of family or friends.

Great Home for our Thanksgiving Gathering

Perfect location and home to bring our family together in a very nicely appointed location. Perfect looking at the Pacific during dinner and everyone had their own wonderfully appointed bedroom and beautiful bathrooms. The great room was large with soaring ceilings and windows and a large TV with seats for all to watch the parade and some football during our stay. The kitchen had everything a chef needed for our feast and many extras that were appreciated. Thank you to Richard and Jennie and their pup Buddy. Convenient to the Pacific coastline, and beaches, restaurants, the National park, downtown and even Torry Pines. Great location for walking. Highly recommend.

This is the nicest house I've rented. It was absolutely beautiful inside and out. Three really nice bedrooms with each of us having our own bathrooms. The house was very comfortable and everything you needed was supplied. The backyard was spacious, beautiful and we enjoyed use of the patio furniture. The owner was very easy to communicate with. Loved our stay here.

Great stay

The house was immaculate and incredibly comfortable to stay in. The neighborhood was quiet, and in addition to the ocean views the proximity to the water brought comfortable breezes to the house.

We love the unique character of the house, which is located in an upscale quiet residential neighborhood. We lived one block away for many years and admired it. We were excited when a For Sale sign went up, and bought the house as our own! We've lovingly renovated it, with particular attention to period-correct details. It has been officially designated as a CA historic property.

What makes this property unique

It is our home (not a typical rental) that we're willing to share with others. It is within close distance to grocery stores, restaurants, and all major attractions.
