There is A/C throughtout the entire rental, not just in the bedroom. The bedroom has a king-size bed and there is a full size futon couch/bed in the living room for two more. A stainless steel gas barbecue grill with side burner is on the oversized 375 square foot covered deck that's another nice place to cook and eat or just to sunbathe on the two teak loungers.
This rental is just 100 yards from a 3/4 mile long stretch of sandy beach (legal beach access is at the end of the lane). It is a perfect place to walk, swim, or boogie board and the beach park restrooms and showers are close by. The Polynesian Cultural Center (with its luau dinners and hula shows) is just a few minutes away. The Turtle Bay Hilton is just 10 minutes north and offers a fabulous Sunday brunch and golfing. We really enjoyed staying in this pretty upstairs apartment in Hau'ula. It's beautifully decorated, with a nice deck for being outside while at home. The location is wonderful, near to the North Shore and the PCC, and many good places to eat.It was perfect.

Mahalo Jan for the great review. We just finished the roof over the deck this past fall.
Been coming to Hawaii for years and I’m just done with Waikiki. So we decided to stay on the other side of the island this time and it’s just so beautiful and so quiet over here. Within a half hour of all the best beaches in the place is super clean as well.

We stayed 6 nights at the Beach Lane Condo and enjoyed it very much. It was very clean, comfortable and well taken care of. The beach area was nice and an easy walk from the house. We would stay there again without any problem.
Close to the beach, CLEAN and had everything we needed! King bed was so comfy! Also it's the little things like quality TP and shampoo and conditioner.
I recommend 100% and would stay again!
My wife and I are from rural Colorado. We wanted to live on the rustic North Shore. It was perfect. The place was beautiful, people are friendly and the sun comes up over the deck every morning.
We loved tge local poke, and fish stand. Just beautiful.
It was a good place to stay that is not in a super busy area. There’s covered parking which was great and AC inside, which was also really great. The DVD player is broken and the mattress and couch leave something to be desired in terms of comfort, but overall it was a nice stay. No stove, but a microwave, toaster oven, and refrigerator which come in handy if you don’t want to eat put for every meal. Overall it was a good experience!

Aloha Sam and mahalo for letting me know about the broken DVD player, I will replace it. The bedroom mattress is fairly new. I try to purchase mattresses that are in the middle on the firmness scale but as you can imagine, everybody is use to their own preferred firmness.
Aloha,
Greg

We stayed in the Beach Lane Condo for five nights and found it very accomodating. Right away we noticed how clean and well kept it was. Greg has added some nice touches like: washer-dryer, snorkeling gear and even bouggie boards. The kitchen was well supplied and there was even a BBQ on the balcony for our use. We would rent again from Greg if we return to the North Shore!

Time at Beach Lane was so beautiful. Really was just footsteps from the beach. The place was spotless and comfortable, and I confrss the ac was lovely at night (or as needed)
The owners are super friendly and available.
It really had everything I needed..stores, restaurants and post office within walking distance. Polynesian Cultural Center just up the road...TheBus stop right on the corner at the property.
Pull-out futon couches in the space allow for company and small or large children or friends.
Really loved it.
We did not stay at the property because it was not what was advertised and location was terrible.
We did not stay at the property because of location issues but stayed in Waikiki at a hotel for the vacation. Sorry to say but the property was very misrepresented on VRBO. THANKS..
My wife and I spent our honeymoon(second marriage for both) at the Beach Lane View from August 7th to the 15th. We were thrilled at the cleanliness of the house and all the extras. We especially enjoyed being on the quiet side of Oahu since we have both been to Hawaii several times and wanted to get away from Honolulu. It was so peaceful and the short walk to the beach, and the beautiful sun rises was great. We have already recommended this property to friends because we know they will not be disappointed. Mahalo!
My daughter and I loved staying at the beach lane view. Our daily walk & swim in the ocean only a few houses away was the highlight of each morning. The Beach Lane view has everything you need for an awesome vacation. We were so relaxed by the time that we left that we didn't leave enough time to sign the guest book, we also couldn't find a pen; guess you could say we didn't have a care in the world! Thank you Greg for making it so easy and accomodating for us.

House smelled very musty
Bad communication with owner, we are still waiting for a refund as 1 of our people didn’t have a blanket for 3 days. This house was not a pleasurable experience.

We take our guests' comfort very seriously and even gave this guest a partial refund due to their complaint. However, this party of three really required three beds, but choose to rent a 1 bedroom rental with only two beds. There were enough linens and comforters for the queen bed in the bedroom and the full-size convertible futon in the living room. These two beds are clearly seen and detailed on our VRBO page and we feel this is an unfair review since there were adequate bed linens for the two sleeping beds advertised. This guest could have easily walked 5 minutes to the nearby shopping center and bought a third blanket for their extra guest who was without a bed, instead they complained and asked for a refund, then after getting a refund, posted an unflattering & unfair review. Pro tip: next time...try making your guests comfortable by renting a place with enough beds or, at the very least, ask the owners if they have an air bed for the extra guest - we have one & would have been happy to provide that to you along with appropriate linens before your arrival. But we didn't know you needed a third bed. As far as the "musty smell," all the windows were closed when you arrived due to high winds prior to your arrival. All you needed to do was open the windows or turn on the air conditioning and the air would have cleared.
Overall, we had a good experience. The property was as advertised and comfortable. The semi-private beach and access was great. Traffic on the road was a tad noisy but we just closed the windows. Internet went down the last two days... a bit of a bummer... but forced me to vacation and not "peek" at work. ha ha. We had the upper (back entrance) portion of the house. The "digital keypad" was a little wonky and hard to read... but we figured it out (would recommend replacing). Overall, we had a good time and would stay here again.

Thank you for choosing to stay at Beach Lane View. We are sorry about the keypad confusion to enter the property and will take a look at it – it may be time for an upgrade. We have made the keypad instructions on VRBO a little clearer too. Unfortunately during your stay Spectrum (the internet company was having random service outages. We apologize for that inconvenience, but glad it gave you a good excuse to enjoy your vacation that much more! I know we love the beach at the end of the lane and that you don’t have to cross the busy road to get there. Thank you for your review!

Internet?
The property was ok but, included services were not. The listing included high speed internet, however it was down 80% of our 7day stay. Not having internet significantly compromised our stay. Phone reception there is terrible. It wasn't just us, the neighbors couldn't get service either. We had to leave the property to use our own data. The property manager was quick to text back, but they expected our neighboring tenant (also vacationing) to stay home to get it fixed. Maintaining their property is their responsibility. I understand things happen, but we should have been compensated.

Sometimes, Spectrum's cable internet and tv will go down. It's usually because a telephone pole has gone down along the coast road or heavy weather. The coast road traverses along the beach for many miles and any downed pole or wire will affect the most of the east side of the Koolau Mountain Range but repairs are timely with only a temporary outage with service returning within 24 hrs. in most cases. Guests are not required to "stay home" to meet the "cable guy" if other arrangements can be made.

Nice space but......
Nice and spacious and the deck was a nice option although it's right beside the highway so very noisy. If you value peace and quiet this will be problematic. Close proximity to north shore attractions. However be aware that the rental fee is based on 2 people, each additional person is $20 per person per day. This is not in the advertisement and only became clear when we confirmed our booking and were issued our payment breakdown. This can add up for a family of four depending on your length of stay. The nearby beach is definitely a nice option for a walk or quick dip but isn't really conducive to a day on the beach as the water is quite rocky and the north shore is quite windy. We were also a bit uncomfortable with the fact that some homeless people were camped in the bushes/trees along the beach. Overall it was a well stocked and comfortable space with one significant exception - the bed is very uncomfortable. If you're looking for quiet and to get well rested in a comfy bed, this is not the place for you.

Thank you for your feedback. We are always looking for ways to improve our home and we were just pricing out a new bed from different sources. As to our pricing, I think we are very competitive and we have filled out our rates according to the format of the website - there's is nothing we can do to change that. However, the total amount due is given to prospective guests before they click confirm - so it seems a little unfair to post a negative review based on this. We recently upgraded this unit with split AC - which is very nice for the summertime and does allow guests to close the windows if the traffic noise is bothersome. This is a two lane roadway and it doesn't bother us, but everyone is different. We also love the beach at the end of the lane. There are tide pools right outside the beach access and if you walk a little north there's a big break in the reef with a sandy bottom, perfect for swimming and the reef allows for some snorkeling. We have masks & fins stocked at the house along with boogie boards and sand toys for our guests.

Second Floor Apartment on Busy Highway
This apartment is right on the corner of a very busy highway and a side street which has several other houses and many parked cars. The noise from the highway during the daytime was so bad that we did not use the deck. The deck is in bad shape anyway, floors are very stained (not white as in the picture on the web), furniture is old and there was only a torn canvas covering which blew in the wind. We bought some cording and tied it down to some of the chairs to mitigate some of the noise caused by the canvas flapping in the wind. We had been told that the deck would have a permanent covering by the time we got there. We booked several months in advance, but no permanent covering.
This area on the north shore of Oahu is really up in the country. There are very few places to eat, and many are food trucks. Certainly not fine dining. There is a good grocery store just 2 miles north in the town of Laie. Plan to eat most of your meals at home.
The Polynesia Cultural Center is in Laie. It is well worth spending some time there.
Of course, the beaches are gorgeous.

The upstairs Beach Lane View is on the corner of a beach lane and the coast road. The 2-lane road is the only road traversing up the coast, at a max of 35mph, to the North Shores popular surf spots which is a popular winter attraction during big wave season. So not much of a highway though in mainland terms. With the beautiful beach at the end of the lane, many locals (who know about this beach as it's not seen from the coast road or written up in Hawaii articles) will park on the lane on the weekends to enjoy it. The revitalized deck with a new roof project was delayed due to a conflict with the contractors availability so a temporary 100sq.ft. shade canopy was provided over the two deck loungers for these guests. A new contractor will start the renovation on the deck shortly. There are a handful of eating establishments and grocery stores within walking distance and another shopping center with the same a mile or two up the road so there are plenty food to choose from. No where outside of Honolulu or Waikiki on the island will you find "fine dining". All the dining in the beachside communities are mostly homemade mom & pop restaurants, food trucks and fresh fish & produce stands. Thirty minutes up or down the road in Haleiwa Town or Kaneohe Town has what I would consider "date night" restaurants with local music and "Aloha Casual" dress which is, in these parts, no tank tops, swimsuits or beach wraps. So if you're looking to stay in a laid back, beachside community, with no big box stores or chain restaurants and enjoy the beach, other attractions and what the island experience has to offer, then the "country" is where it's at.

Nice and clean, but with limitations
This place is very clean, and they try hard to make it nice and welcoming. However, the service is uneven: a barbecue without instructions that is temperamental (couldn't use it one night), hot water (from the tap) suddenly missing one afternoon, no kettle to boil water (because there is no stove). And it's a very noisy location, so sitting outside on the nice deck isn't an option. The bed situation was very good, as were all the bed linens and towels (except no kitchen tea towels).

The upstairs Beach Lane View is on the corner of a beach lane and the coast road. The 2-lane road is the only road traversing up the coast between the mountain range and the beach, many miles in either direction, at a max of 35mph, to the North Shores popular surf spots which is a popular winter attraction during big wave season. So I can see how it might be noisy at times on the deck. The grill ignitor has been replaced and the water heater timer has been reset and a kettle was purchased. There is no oven but there is a dual countertop burners and a gas burner on the side of the grill to use.
Great location for exploring the windward and north shore areas. We appreciate the snorkel gear, boogie boards! The kitchen was fine even without a stove, as there was a 2 burner stove, rice cooker, toaster oven, and more. The only thing we didn’t like was the close proximity to the highway. Kind of noisy, especially on the deck. Otherwise, we had all the comforts of home…even a washer and dryer!
There is a lot to love about the North Shore, and this property is close to everything we wanted to do from food to beaches. Being on the top floor made it feel even more like a private getaway. It was super clean and the perfect size for the two of us. The beach (about a block from the house) is wonderful! Being a bit picky: it is right on the highway, although the noise goes away at night. A table lamp in the LR would be lovely, especially for reading and a little atmosphere. I'm glad we had the lovely king sized bed and no one had to sleep on the tired futons. Oahu's country-side is pretty special!
I loved how easy it was to just walk down the lane to an absolutely stunning beach. Everything you need for a perfect beach day was provided - beach towels, a cooler, grass beach mats, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards.
I also really appreciated the really comfortable king bed, cute kitchen, outdoor shower for rinsing off all the sand, and the laundry facilities.
There is some Kam highway noise, the only drawback to being so close to the main road, so if you are a light sleeper, earplugs are helpful.
Excellent location away from the crowds. The beach was awesome. Some road noise but not really that big of a deal for us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We were impressed with our studio hale in Hauula. It was perfect for our 9-day getaway. The cute kitchen was stocked with enough appliances to cook a full meal. The entire studio was immaculate clean-no ukus! Not one! My favorite part of the hale was the huge deck. It was perfect for bbq entertaining and sunning. Beach access was a 30 second walk. We can’t wait to we can’t wait to bring our grandkids back to the soft sand, tide pool lagoon-ed area. It was a happy, restful vacay.
This was our first time in Oahu and after reviewing several properties I decided to book this property. The location in the island is wonderful as it is a few minutes from PCC, Keana Farms, and Kualoa Ranch. It is next to the highway and it can get noisy and you feel the vibrations but this didn't bother us. The property was cleaned and provided the necessary things we needed for our stay. It worked great for family; we had a child and teenager with us.
Communication was not the best and a bit frustrating. I tried calling with no success when I had issues such as accessing the property or when the keypad ran out of battery, this delayed us quite a bit. I was able to get a hold of the manager via text. The day we had to check out, I sent another message and this time I never received a response. When I sent pics of how we left the property, then I got a response. I did get notified of service in the property.
Keep in mind the property is in conjunction with other ones, so if there's anyone else staying beneath you, you can definitely hear the noise.
Overall, my family was happy to stay here especially because it was feet away from the beach. We will consider staying here again in the future and hoping communication improves.
The property was was very comfortable, its location close to attractions, shopping, and the beach!

Aloha, I'm a husband, father, jack of all trades and a coach of all sports. I was raised in Hawaii and I hope you get the chance to visit and explore this amazing state.
Why they chose this property
We love this beach property. It's so close to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores. The small town feeling and tight community on this beach lane is familiar since I grew up in a small town, on a cul-d-sac on Oahu.
What makes this property unique
The beach is great, the waves are always gentle, even in the winter when other North Shore surf spots are reaching 25 feet. A perfect beach for swimming and boogie boarding. The deck of the Beach Lane View rental is my favorite. Up high with a partial water view and those grand Koolau mountains on the other side. We love to cook and eat outside on the deck and relax.
