We had a wonderful time at this house on Highland lake. Comfortable home with all the amenities. Great for canoeing and kayaking, swimming, lazing in the sun and visiting with family. This was our third visit, and we’ll definitely return.
The cottage was very comfortable, spacious and clean. The view over the lake was beautiful especially with the sun reflecting on to the water at sunrise. Simon and Brian(agent) were very responsive with questions and needs. The kayaks were useful to see more of the lake and helpful to fish. The area was great for hikes and golf too.
This is our second year staying here for the week of the 4th of July. The house is well stocked and a perfect location. We enjoyed kayaking and swimming in the water and lounging on the deck. We grilled out most nights as well. Aside from food and personal items this house really has everything you need including a washer and dryer which for me was crucial for a week long lake stay. Would highly recommend!
Cozy little cottage on the lake that was perfect for our family stay. We enjoyed the views of the lake and the fall foliage. Cottage was clean and well setup with everything you'd need--games, movies, kitchen supplies, bikes, kayaks, canoe. The weather was chilly so the gas fireplace in the sitting room/dining room was a nice touch in the mornings and evenings. Lots of nice hiking trails close by!
We enjoyed our stay at this stylish cottage. The communication with hosts and agent was excellent, they provide you a lot of information. It's really a home with a lot of space that owners welcome you to. A fully appointed house with a great high speed Wi-fi, a dishwasher, a washer, a dryer (hosts allow us to use it, it's in a different building), a grill, TV, big fans in every bedroom. Never have had problems with the hot water. The views of the lake are magnificent! My husband enjoyed kayaking and fishing, I was swimming all the time - water is crystal clear, calm and warm.
stop and get all your provisions first, but once there, it’s heaven. Great private beach for little ones as it’s a very gradual shallow start. Would recommend water shoes for sure though. Wonderful deck with great views. Absolutely all the kitchen pots, pans and appliances you would use. VERY clean and comfortable. Bring sound machines or use their fans for light sleepers. An abundance of books and games to use. just LOVED it!
Quiet. Cozy. Peaceful. Nice property manager. I wish we had known at the time we made the reservation that there was no cell service, Lilly pad overgrowth prohibited easy access to swim and water would stain clothes when using washer. We did get warning of cell service and staining in documents sent prior to final arrival but too late to book another place. We adjusted and still had a fantastic time.
Beautiful, clean, well stocked property. 10 stars! We really enjoyed the kayaks & nature on our stay. To say kitchen well stocked and all our linen/towel, supplies (dish soap, haand soap, bath needs) were met is an understatement. We truly enjoyed our stay! Very responsive hosts (we couldn’t find bath towels—-behind the door silly me!) Text response within minutes! Thank you for having us!
The Lake House was at a good location. It was quiet and it has a wonderful view of the Fall foliage. The house had everything thing you needed to be comfortable and enjoyable. Kayaks were conveniently placed to access them. Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom had everything you needed. Plus board games to play. Overall it was a beauitful place for my wife and I to go to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary.
The house was everything the pictures showed. The furniture and fixtures were in great condition. The house was clean. The books and games were a big hit with the kids (ages 8 & 10). The kayaks and canoes were used every day. The neighborhood was very quite and relaxing.
We have visited this property 3 times in recent summers.
We enjoyed the outdoor deck of this property the most! It provided us with many nature sightings including loons, hummingbirds and bald eagles. There are spots in the sun and shade and we loved to grill and eat outside. There is a small sandy beach for wading and swimming that was easy to launch the kayaks from. We would advise visitors to bring bottled water for drinking/coffee/ice. There are multiple fans to help with cooling and we were not too hot despite no A/C. Overall, this is a great location!
Very nice home, beautiful lake view. Loved kayaking and canoeing, visiting Keene, lounging on the porch overlooking the lake. Everything was very clean, the house was equipped with all the basics - and a great library!
I loved the place. I spent a weekend with my boyfriend. We enjoyed kayaking, fishing, grilling and just chilling with a nice view.
The place is clean and has all resources you need.
The only disadvantage of the place is that grocery shop and restaurants are 30 min away. There is a small shop close by for urgent stuff. However, if you bring everything for your meals, you will be fine.
Thanks!
This was probably one of the most relaxing trips my family has been on. Not only is the house spectacular but the views and surrounding land are as well. We were able to fish off of their beautiful doc and just let the kids run around. We will definitely be staying here again.
My friend and I travel from Florida to New Hampshire for my friend's wedding and we're looking for someplace a little different to stay instead of a normal Hotel. Neither one of us had ever been to a lake house so we decided to stay here! Not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable home feel of this place. I will say that the drive in is... not for us city types. I was white-knuckling the steering wheel driving at night on those small country roads. So just be aware of that if you live in an urban location and don't have experience driving through mountains, curvy roads, light fog and no street lights. It's the price to pay for a private, quiet location though! LOL Once you park the first structure is not where you stay. The house is at the end of 3 or 4 sets of steps (with handrails). I only mention that because I arrived at night and had to use my cell phone flashlight to see where I was going and was confused. Haha Also, once inside the house slants down a bit which tripped me up a little until I got used to it. No offense to the house, it's safe of course.. Just be aware of those types of things if you are mobility challenged in any way. I sprained my ankle hiking and had a few challenges with the aforementioned. The property manager was in touch with me via email and was very lovely in responding to all my questions beforehand. I do recommend this place. It's really different to what I'm used to living in Tampa and that was a plus in my book.
This adorable cottage is so much cuter than the photos. What a nice surprise! Our interaction with the property manager was wonderful. We lucked out and had decent weather. All in all it was a win/win situation. I would definitely go back again!

As a U.S. Foreign Service family often working overseas, we love to return to the lake in New Hampshire as often as possible.
Why they chose this property
After renting summer homes in southern New Hampshire for years, we finaly bought our own and turned it into the place we would want to rent. We hope you'll find living on the lake as relaxing as we do.
What makes this property unique
The 180 degree view of hills and trees across the lake from our front deck and nearly all the rooms makes doing a lot, or nothing, equally worthwhile.
