Modern Lakefront Home on Burt w/Optional Pontoon

This is a custom built home on the northeast side of Burt Lake. Located near the tip of Greenman's Point, you will have some of the most spectacular sunsets the lake has to offer. The 5 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath home has an open floor plan featuring a large gourmet kitchen, perfect for family gatherings and entertaining. The windows surrounding the home make it feel as though you are sleeping on top of the water. Views of the lake can be seen from almost every room in the home.

Just 15 minutes from Burt Lake State Park, 30 minutes from Petoskey and 20 minutes from Mackinaw City. The house is located a few minutes from the North Central State Trail (“rail trail”), which is an excellent biking/hiking trail. Area ski hills are just a half an hour away.

The house sleeps sixteen in beds (However we only allow a max of 10 adults!) Both main floor bedrooms have privacy bathrooms. Upstairs bath is a three room bath, separating the toilet, shower, and main sink so all can be used at once. A fully equipped kitchen comes complete with all of the amenities needed for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner: gas range and oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, drip coffee maker and bean grinder, toaster oven, and an assortment of pots and pans. A gas grill is also available for your outdoor grilling. Utility room has front loading washer and dryer. Fire pit for your evening, lakeside fires. Free WiFi.

$1795/wk ($260/day if you are staying less than a week)

**Personal watercraft of any kind may NOT be moored in the water or tied to the dock. All boats and PWC must be trailered in and out as needed or docked overnight at an offsite location (nearby marina, etc...) If you plan to bring your own boat, please be aware of this rule and you MUST notify us prior to bringing any PWC.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Leave used beds unmade
Wash and dry all beach towels. Start a load of white towels.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
We do not allow the mooring of any boats or PWC in our waterfront, nor do we allow boats to be tied to the dock. Doing so may result in eviction.
You must alert us prior to bringing any personal water craft or boats to the property.
We have a strict no-pet policy. No pets will be allowed.

We had a wonderful week and enjoyed the home and boat. Weather was perfect for boating, swimming and outdoor activities. Spent a day at nearby Petoskey and also a trip to Mackinac Island. The house was great for our large family of 8 adults and 2 small children. Loved the large kitchen and dining table for family meals. Beautiful sunsets every night too!

This house is gorgeous. It is set up perfectly for families. Lots of private spaces and lots of open space to gather inside and out. This house has everything you need. Simply Amazing! Dream home Cabin, Dream Home Setting.

The owners of this cabin really thought this out. The cabin is perfect for large families, and is nested deep inside some Cheboygan Forrest. Burt Lake (4 largest inland lake in Michigan) is beautiful. We were able to stargaze right from the backyard. The cabin is fully equipped (no joke) with everything you need. Kitchen (10/10) Bathrooms (10/10) Backyard (10/10) Rooms (10/10) I rarely give 5 stars, but this cabin deserves it.

Our best VRBO rental EVER!

Wow! This property and location were perfect! A spacious home located right on the shore of beautiful Burt Lake in Cheboygan, Michigan. The owners were generous with their time, guidance, and water sport equipment (paddle boards, kayaks, etc). We opted to rent their pontoon boat for the week, and it was the absolute highlight of our stay. Even without the boat, there is plenty to do and enjoy, or simply hang out in the hammock and read. We really enjoyed our evenings around the fire pit roasting smores . The home was spotlessly clean and very well stocked. It is perfect for an extended family gathering or several couples/friends vacationing together. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

My family had a great time staying at this property. Matt and Jenna’s home is beautiful, clean, and large enough to accommodate all 10 of us comfortably. The location right on Burt Lake can’t be beat. We enjoyed the pontoon boat, kayaks, paddle boards and bikes, as well as the fire pit at night. This is a wonderful spot for an up north vacation!

Great Time - Beautiful Location

This is a great place to stay! Our family had a wonderful time. It had plenty of room to accommodate our family and during meal times we could all be together. The only thing we missed was the dock still being in the water though I understand it is about to winter! I would definitely stay here again. Both the arrival and departure were extremely easy. Making memories

Our annual fall family getaway at Burt’s Hideaway was awesome. Perfect size for our combined families. It can get noisy with our crew but the spacious house and yard allowed us to spread out. The house was tastefully decorated and had all the amenities we needed. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and recommend this location. My only sadness is it seems to be totally booked for summer 2024. Thank you!

We both grew up in Northern Michigan. Jenna was raised in Charlevoix, and Matt spent his summers in Lewiston. We currently live in the Ann Arbor area, but we knew we needed a place Up North to bring us back to our roots. We found the perfect setting on beautiful Burt Lake and we were able to build this house to accommodate all of the family and friends that we wanted to share it with.
