House was very accommodating especially for young kids. Location is great very close to Granite Peak. Owners were fast to respond to any questions we had, definitely recommend it.
The house was fantastic with beautiful bathrooms and plenty of space for big group and it was very clean. Christina extremely helpful and easy to work with!
Can sum it up when my 9 year old walked into this place for our second stay... "I love this place!"
Great place to stay with a family. Big yard, private, but close to anything you need.
Great house and location for skiing at Granite Peak
With only being a few minutes from the ski mountain this was really a great location for us. Plenty of space, fully stocked kitchen for all our cooking needs. Also, it was nice we could fit our two trucks into the garage.
A group of five adults stayed here for the second time for a state pool tournament. The house was perfect this time like it was last time. Actually, the day was a little better because there is a new couch in the living room that is simply fantastic. We will definitely stay here again next year if possible.
Very nice house. Clean. Plenty of space. Check in was very easy. We were 5 adult men ranging from early 40s to mid 60s in town for a state pool tournament. This house was perfect for us. We’d stay here again.
This was our second time staying in this home. We absolutely love it. Plenty of room for everyone and kitchen has everything. Even crockpots! Most likely we will be back next winter and checking the availability for this home again.
After experiencing a family emergency that kept us in the Wausau area for an extended period of time, we were desperately looking for somewhere to stay, other than hotel rooms. When we found Christine and her home, we were so thankful! This house is a home away from home, and the yard is breathtaking! The large trees make you feel like you’re tucked into a little sanctuary, a much needed feeling after long days at the hospital. Needless to stay, this property is worth a visit, and the owners are beyond accommodating!
The family members who stayed in this house for our week long reunion really had only good things to say about the rental. It fit all their needs. Kitchen big enough for food preps. We had such wonder weather we ate outside in front of the garage so plenty of tables and chairs. Toys for kids was a nice bonus. Unfortunately the refrigerator was starting to fail towards the end of the week, but held up until we were finished using the house. Owner was contacted about this.
Have one suggestion and that is maybe the hot water heater should be turned down some. Extremely hot water coming out of the faucets. Over all it fit our family reunion needs just fine!!
This is a beautiful, roomy home nestled in a dense woods in a rural-suburban type neighborhood. It may not be on a lake or river but it is close to nearly everything you might want to do in the Wausau area. We were a party of six needing four bedrooms and this home fit the bill perfectly. It is a very modern home with all the comfort and amenities you would expect including high speed internet and access to the two-car garage. The kitchen has all the tools you need if you want to cook but there are also plenty of restaurants less than 15 minutes away if you don't. This was our second year here and if we end up visiting the Wausau area again in the future we definitely will book this home again.
This beautiful home could not have been more comfortable while we were in WI for a week preparing for our daughter's wedding. It was the perfect taste of WI country yet not too far from the city.
All our children came from different states to celebrate their dad's retirement with us. The house was perfect. Very clean, great yard for playing, and nice sitting areas to sit and chat. Christina went above and beyond to smooth out a little problem we had. I highly recommend this home for a little r & r.
This full-sized home is ideal for a family retreat. We were there for skiing in Wausau and the 10 minute drive was quick and easy. The home was spacious and would easily accommodate their guest limit of 14 but four our family of four, all we needed and then some. The home was nestled in a wooded lot just on the edge of everything. Would definitely stay there again.

About the host
Hosted by Christina Raber-Jehn
I grew up in Wausau, WI and after college, moved away to Phoenix, AZ. We missed this beautiful area, the seasons, the people and all of the fun things to do here year round. We decided that we wanted to come back and also give the same opportunity to others like us who believe this area is amazing! We hope you enjoy the peace and comfort that this secluded property can provide.
Why they chose this property
Of all of the properties we looked at, this one was the complete package. There was the privacy of being in the country yet we were only minutes from all of the attractions in the area. No longer 25-40 minute drives like I was used to when commuting to Wausau from the country when I was a kid. The house is huge and now it that it is basically brand new, it has everything we could dream of. The property itself is so pretty with wildlife in abundance.
What makes this property unique
Huge unique trees for swinging/climbing, many bird feeders and birdhouses, apple trees in back yard, huge grassy yard, large rooms in house with room for a large group, all new furniture and amenities inside home, completely remodeled.
