My mother and father walked the beach on the Isle of Palms when my father was on leave from the European theater in WWII. They found the prettiest spot on the island and marked in with a giant X in the sand. Then they went directly to the Beach Company and bought it...I think they paid $5,000 for it which was an enormous sum at the time. After the war they built what came to be known as a "J.C. Long House." It was a small cinder block house--3 bedrooms, 1 bath, side porch but it suited our young family just fine.

What makes this house unique
Spectacular location, views and amenities. Upstairs and downstairs living rooms, wonderful screened porch and upper deck. Plenty of room to spread out for a multi-generational group.
