My wife, our two teenage kids and I all thoroughly enjoyed our Normandie holiday last week. We had not visited the area before and although we were only there a week we got to see much of the local WW2 history - which was extremely moving - got to eat more oysters and beautiful fresh fish than we thought possible, toured the amazing "route de caps", did plenty of beach walking - and got to enjoy the local (liquid) apple delights of cidre, pommeau and Calvados!
Staying at Patrick's house for the week made our holiday that added bit special. We were very graciously welcomed by Patrick and we very quickly saw how beautifully presented and spacious it was and how absolutely ideal it was going to be for us.
So it proved.
Wonderfully situated and with a view of the sea it was gloriously peaceful. The house is large, immaculately laid out, airy and extremely well equipped. There was absolutely nothing that we needed or wanted that wasn't already in the house - including the good WiFi that kept the teenagers happy!!!
The area is rural, quiet and peaceful and the local facilities (including an Intermarche) in nearby Quettehue are great. Mention must also be made of the wonderful fish restaurants in nearby Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue - the 'plats du fruit der mer' are to die for!
The quality of the accommodation that you have is the basic tenet of a good holiday - Patrik's wonderful house gave us precisely that. Thank you Patrick.
