Lake Champlain camp, spacious deck, sunset & mountain views, beach and dock
Our family's rustic, roomy cabin is located on scenic Thompson's Point, nestled among cedars with stunning views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks, close to the music of the waves and the clear, bright canopy of summer stars. The deck is the center of the action, with a grill and front row seats for magnificent sunsets. The great room features a full dining table, picture windows with lake view, and a newly remodeled kitchen. We have one of the few beaches on Thompson's Point and well as a dock for swimming. The cabin is close to hiking and shopping (Shelburne, Burlington, Middlebury). It's a lovely place to gather with family and friends and explore the rich cultural and natural life of the Champlain Valley and beyond.
The parking area can accommodate 3 cars. Please be aware that there are 36 stairs from the parking area to the cabin, and another couple of dozen from the cabin down to the beach.
Please note we have an 11% discount for weekly stays (7 days).

Our family had an excellent stay at the lake house. The views are just amazing, photos dont do it justice. We had plenty of space to enjoy time together. Bring water shoes if you plan to swim. The shore is rocky and slippery.
What a great time away. We really enjoyed the near perfect views of lake Champlain from this treetop wooded cabin that was full of many accommodations..
A wonderful beach house in 3 pods. When we were not in the water we were on the deck with the wonderful view. We had a great time on the lake and in the lake. A large well appointed main area worked for cooking and hanging out when we were inside. There are stairs.
This cottage on a cliff was the perfect get-away for me, my husband and our three young adult sons. Each son had his own room and we had our own suite in a separate but attached building. The main event is the deck with almost 180 degree views of Lake Champlain facing west for the best sunsets on the lake!
The updated kitchen worked nicely as it is open to the Great Room with expansive windows and an enormous picture window. We fished and swam off of the deck every day, took long walks along the dirt road, cooked and grilled stellar meals and played board games in the evening. Although the weather got quite hot and there is no air conditioning, the ceiling fans and attic-type fans kept everyone cool and comfortable.
I would recommend this for any reunion, special occasion or just a get-away with someone you love. It is beyond charming with just the right amount of family summer cabin kitch to add to the quaint atmosphere. And — there is no better view of Lake Champlain as we are avid sailors and frequently anchor at Converse Bay for the spectacular sunsets.
Charming location. The lake is spectacularly clear here. The water off the dock is crystal clear. We're avid swimmers so this was a big hit for us.
The bedrooms with openings to the deck also have back windows with screens, so the lake to land airflow for sleeping was delightful.
The bath linens were clean and fresh. All cleaning supplies (dish soap, dishwasher detergent, papertowels) were well stocked and quality items. This was terrific since it's impossible to remember everything one needs when renting a camp. There were labels when needed to direct us how to turn on a ceiling fan, turn on the outdoor lights, etc. It was clear the property owner took steps to make sure their guests were comfortable. This is a well run camp.
The camp is well stocked for cooking and family activities. The only negative for us was that the king size bed was too soft. I know this can be like the story of the three bears. Some people like soft fluffy mattresses, some like super firm mattresses.
The pictures can't quite capture this magical setting. It was a delight.
The camp has a SPECTACULAR view and very comfortable great room that accommodated our large group perfectly. Beautiful spot on the lake with wonderful views of the sunset. Highly recommend!

Beauiful rustic cabin with amazing views of lake Champlain and the adk's
Our family just spent four nights in this lovely rustic cabin while in the area for our sons wedding. When we arrived late in the afternoon we saw the most amazing sunset from the wrap around windows of the great room! The cabin was properly fitted with all the kitchen tools needed, plenty of towels blankets and sheets. The bedrooms were a surprise being that they are separate from the main house but that actually was nice for privacy. Beware that the house sits 36 steps below the parking and the dock is about the same below the house! Carrying in large coolers or bags are tricky but when your there it leaves you feeling as though your in a tree house!
We would definitely consider renting this home again!

Vermont at it's best
If you like camping and want to bring the family, this cabin is ideal. It was a great way to experience Vermont. Met so many nice people, just walking on the road with their dogs. And the lake is stunning, rain or shine! The history of the cabin was also an interesting read. Thanks so much for allowing us to share the beauty!

Charming, rustic home away from home
Can't say enough good things about this camp. It has all the comforts of home, plus much, much more. The deck, the view, the sunsets! Great location, quiet area, I could go on and on. Thanks to Matthew and Corrie for being so attentive and easily reachable. Would definitely recommend.

Two years in a row we have rented this cottage for a group of international visitors. Everyone loved staying here - beautiful views, great spots for conversation and for sharing cooking/meals. The owners are a pleasure to work with. Thank you!

The property was properly labeled as rustic and quaint. It had a wonderful cabin on the lake feel.
My family and I arranged a vacation at this wonderful place and it suited our needs perfectly for wonderful fall weekend on Lake Champlain where my family and I have vacationed for 2 generations. The property suited our needs for the weekend perfectly. Thank you for that opportunity to spend a weekend together on the lake that we all will remember forever. Sincerely, Deborah Olanyk

Wonderful, quiet, spotlessly clean rustic cabins with spectacular views
We (a group of 6 friends) loved our stay in the 3 cabins in October 2015. We spent most of our time in the 'great room', which contains the kitchen and fireplace with a gas heater. The lake/mountain/sunset view from the great room was absolutely spectacular, as were the sounds of the lake waves lapping at the bottom of the property. There are other cabins around, but the way the cabin is nestled into the landscape makes it feel very private, you will see nothing but lake lake lake! All the cabins were very clean and we noticed the owners provided a lot of thoughtful 'extras' for their guests. The kitchen was well-stocked in terms of cooking supplies utensils dishes wine glasses etc. Again, so clean and no musty smell, as you might expect from a 1940s cabin on a lake! We had to contact the owners at one point over the great room heater and they could not have been more nice and responsive and resolved the issue ASAP. One thing to know before renting is that there is a flight of steep stone stairs (with a rail) to access the property; if you have trouble with stairs this is not the place for you. Also it was quite chilly at night during our stay and only the great room has heat, which the owners warned us about fully in advance--but this didn't bother us. We plan to return!

Why they chose this property
My great-grandfather began building this cabin in the 1930s, and it has been affectionately cared for by members of our family ever since -- five generations now. The place is beautiful, restful, simple -- on a shady, cedar-quiet slope in the companionable presence of Lake Champlain. It has been the site of large, joyful gatherings and quiet retreats. It is an ideal location to cook, talk, walk, swim, disappear with a book, recharge the batteries, or catch up with loved ones. There are so many things to explore nearby: hiking, shopping, charming towns and winding, picturesque roads.
What makes this property unique
At the cabin, you are always in the presence of Lake Champlain, which can be comfortingly calm as well as exhilaratingly rough. Few things are more wonderful then falling asleep to the sound of waves on the rocky shore. The stars on a clear night are overwhelming. There are spots to be alone, with the deck and great room serving as common gathering places. The deck is open to it all and morning, afternoon, and evening one can sit and soak it the lake, sky, the fresh air, and feel a sense of rest and refreshment.
