About this property

Sevenstones at Lizard Lighthouse The Lizard, near Helston , Cornwall

In association with Trinity House, we are pleased to present Sevenstones at Lizard Lighthouse. Located on the southern-most tip of mainland Britain, the six adjacent cottages of Lizard Lighthouse present guests with dazzling scenery and coastal walks right from the doorstep. Rare and beautiful flora and fauna make this cliff top location particularly special.

Arranged over two floors with a ground floor bedroom and en-suite, along with two further bedrooms upstairs, Sevenstones is a spacious dog friendly property with sea views, an enclosed courtyard and allocated parking. A generous entrance hall leads to the cosy sitting room with its comfy leather sofas inviting you to curl up in front of the electric living flame fire in the evenings, the well-equipped kitchen; the separate dining room; a family shower room; and a ground floor twin bedroom with its own spacious en-suite bathroom. Upstairs are two further bedrooms, another twin room and a king-size, both with sea views.

Outside, relax or dine al-fresco in the enclosed courtyard garden with picnic table.

?Lizard Lighthouse is a fully working lighthouse, first established in 1619. The distinctive two white towers that it is known for today were built in 1751 by private entrepreneur Thomas Fonnereau, and first lit on 22 August of that year. Trinity House gained control of the lights in 1771 and continues to look after its operation to this day. It became electrified in 1924 and then fully automated in 1998. It has a 26 mile light range and an automatic 3 mile fog signal if conditions are misty.

The nearby Lizard Village provides shops, restaurants and a friendly pub only ¼ mile away. There are an abundance of other small seaside towns and beaches to explore including St Michael's Mount, St. Ives, Mousehold, Newlyn, Penzance and The Helford River.

Additional Information:
This is an operational lighthouse with an automatic, electric fog signal. During occasional periods of fog and mist, ear plugs are provided for your comfort.
Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge).
A travel cot and highchair available on request.
Please note, WiFi is not available at this property and there is very limited mobile signal.
Guests should be aware that the lighthouses and equipment need regular and sometimes emergency maintenance. Therefore visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. However, staff will do their best to ensure guest privacy at all times.
Access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places and, dependent on the season and site, there is the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions during bird breeding seasons or other environmental reasons.
Guests are reminded they are renting a heritage building, therefore certain features such as steps, stairs and floor levels may not comply with that of a modern building. As such, we would advise guests to acquaint themselves with the premises on arrival and exercise caution accordingly.

Incredible location - good quality property

If you like your outdoors, this is an epic place to stay. Climbing, surfing, fishing, swimming all within walking distance (the surfs abit of a walk mind). The house is good quality, nice kitchen, everything you need, comfy beds etc. The only reason it's not 5 star is the fog horn. You have been warned!

Stunning setting for a holiday

This is a wonderful cottage on the lighthouse proper of lizard point, the most southerly point in England. You cannot beat the location as you are essentially part of a working lighthouse. There are several walking paths around the lighthouse which allow walks along the ocean or into the town of lizard which has shops and restaurants. The welcome basket provided is flowing with fruit, scones, cheese, crackers, cereal, milk, tea and wine. A really nice touch which allowed us to have many nice snacks during our stay. I would absolutely recommend this cottage.
