About this property
Mountain Log Cabin Getaway
Back on the rental market. Our 4-season log cabin is located on a cul de sac in a quiet section away from the main roads in the Chimney Hill Resort Community. It is fully furnished 3 bedroom 2 bath and can sleep 9+ people (master (up) bunk room, queen size lower and loft sleeping area). It is a perfect getaway for a family or to entertain groups of friends. The décor is rustic and cozy, with a wraparound deck and the use of a soapstone wood stove during the winter months. There is a partially completed basement with a large screen TV and table tennis. Other amenities for your convenience include an outdoor grill, full-range stove, microwave, high speed internet, washer dryer and refrigerator. The cabin was built on two lots and backs up to the Green Mountains.
The Clubhouse & amenities include indoor and outdoor (seasonal) heated pools, hot tub, tennis, bocce, basketball courts, horse shoe pit, shuffle board, pool table, ping pong table, and game room for the kids and young at heart. There's also a reading and lounge area with WI-FI. BYOB bar and kitchen overlooking the indoor pool and hot tub. Open use grills and decks with outdoor tables. Of course, there's a large flat screen TV room (Friday night movies for the kids) and a kids play room. During the winter months, there is a groomed ice skating pond and warming hut (fully packed with second-hand skates. The V.A.S.T. snow mobile trails can also be accessed right from our location! Up the hill (about a 5-minute drive), you will find the Haystack hiking trail entrance and a fully stocked trout pond.
Enjoy a quiet stroll through downtown historic Wilmington Village with its charming restaurants and shops only a mile away. Come join the fun and convenience our community offers. We are 7 miles from Mount Snow Ski Resort offering ski/snowboarding, ski school/day care programs, tubing, scenic lift rides, and downhill mountain biking. Mount Snow also presents the “Tough Mudder” and various seasonal festivals.
If golfing is your choice, we are 1.5 miles to Hermitage Golf Club at Haystack and 5 miles to Mt Snow's Golf Course and school. Great location for spring, summer and fall golfing
You are also within close distance to antiquing and outdoor flea markets; wine tasting; hiking in The Green Mountain National Forest; Twin Brooks Snowmobile Tours; boating/freshwater fishing at Lake Raponda and Lake Whitingham; horseback riding; and sleigh rides at Adams Farm. If you have a bit more time, venture out for a short day-trip to Yankee Candle or to Bromley Mountain Ski Resort, also featuring an alpine slide and adventure park in the summer months (one hour away). Let’s not forget the apples or maple syrup.

Why they chose this property
This property was purchased as a present to my new Yankee wife. She wanted a place that she could come back to reflect on her New England upbringing. It was a perfect gift since we moved to Atlanta and then Texas. We did not rent the place out much since it was "her house" but later thought other people would enjoy it also. She put her own decorating touch on it and we continue to visit once a year, hoping that upon retirement we will stay forever. So enjoy it while you can because soon it will become home again.
