We had such a wonderful stay at Villa Thalia. We stayed there at the end of August when the season was coming to an end. However there was still so much to see and do in Kefalonia! The villa is walking distance to a small shop that sells everything you need (food, drink, washing powder etc) and opposite is a lovely Greek Taverna. 5 minute drive to Lourdata beach which is beautiful, and has quite a few restaurants and bars next to the beach. Thalia came to visit us a couple of times to check all was ok. A lovely host who gave us lots of great advice and information on the local area. Her daughter kept in contact via email, so any issues she was prompt to reply. Some reviews mention the intermittent WiFi (which it is) however when on holiday and in such a beautiful place, it’s a relief for the teenagers not to be able to use their mobile phones . A lovely villa with a great swimming pool. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you
We had a wonderful stay here, the property is really well cared for and Katerina looked after us beautifully. The setting is just glorious and we all lived in the swimming pool when we weren’t out exploring! The beds are comfortable and we had excellent facilities, we made good use of the kitchen and the BBQ.
My family enjoyed our stay at the villa very much. There are lovely views to the sea, and one can walk to the nearby small supermarket or tavernas. We drove to the beach most days (Lourdes) which was wonderful. The manager and owner were very attentive.
The villa was delightful, as was the area. Short distance to a convenience store, a bar and restaurants. Thalia, the host was very welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend. Hopefully we will return....
We had a lovely time here. Easy walking distance to a small supermarket who sells most things and about 4 restaurants. Our host Thalia could not have been more helpful. Also easy communication with quick response from Katerina. The view of Zante was stunning. Thank you all and we hope to see you again.
We had a great stay, the villa was spotlessly clean, very well equipped great communication with Thalia shes such a lovely lady, very helpful and welcoming. Stunning scenery with the view of the sea and the island of zakynthos. The location is very good, i would recommend getting a hire car if you want to explore alot of the island, it can be quite hilly in places, the area had a well stocked supermarket, and 4 restaurants that were in walking distance, trapezaki beach is a 20 min walk down hill, walking back up would be a struggle for someone not very stable on their leg's.
A beautiful villa , with stunning views of sea and mountains. Great communication with owners. Check in straight forward. Just 20 mins from airport.
The villa was very clean, with all you need.
The outside area with pool is very relaxing.
Couldn’t fault it. Would highly recommend. Tavernas and mini market in walking distance.
Quiet location.
Will definitely return
The villa was clean the pool was great and the owner was lovely and very friendly. The aircon is set to a minimum of 24 degrees which was insufficient, the mattresses on all the beds were very hard, so night times became uncomfortable. We could not get Wi-Fi inside the villa only outside on one end of the property. We struggled to locate the property on our arrival, but took it all in our stride and had a lovely holiday.
My two adult daughters and I loved our stay. The house is beautiful and well equipped, aircon in the bedrooms was invaluable at night and it was a luxury to have three bathrooms too. The pool and the views across towards Zakinthos are perfect, with very peaceful surroundings (there are other villas close by but they are well screened by trees). There are 3/4 good tavernas within walking distance and the mini market is also close enough to walk but it was very useful to have a car for drives to the beach and to stock up with groceries. Thank you to Katerina for excellent communication and to Thalia for looking after us so well onsite!
Gorgeous location in the beautiful unspoilt rural town Trapezaki with the added advantage of being a short drive to the airport. The villa was spotlessly clean, well equipped and has stunning views of the sea to the front and the mountains to the back. Communication was very efficient, with Katarina, the owner’s responding to my queries very quickly and accurately. Thalia, the owner, is simply lovely and popped in to welcome us warmly on our first day. Within walking distance there are four very nice tavernas and a well stocked (although a bit pricey) mini market. We hired a car at the airport which was great as there is so much to be seen on the island. There are a number of beaches close by but it is advisable to travel by car. We returned home feeling chilled and relaxed and we definitely hope to return again. 10/10
We had a lovely stay at Villa Katarina which was really well equipped with a fantastic pool. The property and gardens were spacious and were conveniently located for a number of bars and restaurants in the local area. The property owner was extremely responsive and helpful. We had a small issue with some wildlife which, whilst obviously not the fault of the owner, was dealt with by them within half an hour which must be a record for speed!! We were extremely grateful.
With regards to the area further afield, there are more restaurants and beaches to be found in Loudas which costs around 35 euros for a return taxi trip. A return to Argostoli is around double that but we felt, worth it. We were there for a fortnight so needed a few more places to change things up a little.
Would not hesitate to recommend the Thallia Villas highly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Five stars!
We had a lovely stay in the Thallia villa. It was clean, well equipped and the pool area and views were amazing. Thallia, the owner, was always on hand if we needed anything and was kind, generous and accommodating. We had a hire car for our 2 weeks and felt it was necessary to drive to the local mini market and nearby restaurants as it was so hot and the roads were dangerous to walk along. They would've been at least a 15 min walk from the villa. The one negative thing for us was the poor "road " leading to the actual villa. It was an unmade track, more than a "road", and it was made up of loose quite large lumps of gravel which over a few days made ditches and became increasingly difficult to drive over. The signage to the villa could be updated and improved too, to give a professional first impression to its location. Otherwise, we had a fabulous holiday using the villa as a base to enjoy and explore the rest of the island. Thank you!
The Villa was really clean and well laid out with a lovely pool area and fabulous views and both things are real positives for this villa. As is the Mountain view behind. We would certainly stay here again for sure.
Whilst it's a bit of a walk to the nearest beach it's all down hill and safe, the walk back up is a lot harder and obviously so a car means you can also go to near by beaches easier.
There are a few restaurants close by and the standard was pretty high but again a car allows you to go into a bit further and I would say a car is essential just for those reasons.
There is also a small supermarket close by but it would be expensive for a full shop so again an car is useful to go a larger one.
The villa surroundings are quiet and private and you aren't overlooked at all so the pool area was really private and relaxed with amazing sea views and a large balcony big enough for us all to eat on.
There aren't any real negatives although it would be useful to have a handle on the outside of the patio door as you cant close it from outside and the aircon turns off when if its left open, but thats a minor thing. And maybe a few things need a refresh but this is being very picky and overall it's great value and we really liked it.
The host was lovely and helpful, and when we did have a small issue was quick to call and sort it for us even at the weekend. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again and the villa is great value for a full family.
Excellent service and support from the owner. The villa was as described; wonderful location and setting with great amenities. When travelling with a family of young adults be aware that the WiFi signal does not provide the speeds that the UK generally experiences. During the hotter days and nights the air conditioning does not provide as cool an environment as one would wish for. The information provided in the accompanying villa file is both useful and informative, however, it does highlight a maid service that is most welcome, especially with larger groups. We did not, however, experience this indicated service. We would certainly recommend this accommodation to travellers but with the cautionary points indicated above.
Our stay in Thalia Villa was just wonderful. The villa was clean and well equipped. Mid week it was cleaned, bed sheets changed and fresh towels supplied. The pool was lovely and the vistas amazing - 360 degree mountain and sea views. The setting was perfect. There are restaurants within walking distance and the beautiful Trapezaki beach is a five minute drive. You can walk but the return journey is up a very steep hill! Thalia, the owner, was attentive and helpful without being intrusive. We would wholeheartedly recommend a stay in this villa.
Fantastic villa - well equipped with everything you need for family holiday. Supermarket within walking distance and beautiful quiet, calm beach a short drive away. Lots of space around the villa and pool for up to 6 people to enjoy a relaxing holiday. Pool was brilliant and children (including the teens) spent all week in it. Also some great tavernas nearby. Host family were very kind and helpful.
The house is located 20 mins drive from the airport in a quiet neighbourhood - you can walk to restaurants but walking to the beach is not very realistic but is an easy drive. The house is nice but quite simple and would be so much nicer with some more kitchen equipment, a basic starter pack and a bit of modernisation. But it was priced fairly. We had a few problems in the house and the owners were very responsive and got things sorted quickly. We were disappointed to be charged EUR50 for a broken lock - it was wear and tear on an internal door but overall the owners were lovely and we had a lovely holiday. The house is good value for money compared to nearby villas owned by the big companies.
