Love the location

Overall a nice place to stay for ages ranging from 80+ to a 1 year old! Could have been cleaned a little better but besides that, we enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect for all of us and not too far away from everything.

Fun Ski trip

The layout was great for kids! Older kids to the basement, younger kids on main level. The house was very dusty but other than that it was great. We had a wonderful time!

Great Get Away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great weekend away. Fun times with friends and away from the daily grind. Fun with the games but need some new ping pong paddles. Keep the fan on in the loft or you will roast.

Relaxing days

Open floor plan was nice for our family of 10. The family room in the basement was nice for those who wanted to get away from the noise. The door knobs are installed backward and caused problems with people getting locked into the bathroom. It would be an easy fix and only takes a screwdriver. The carpet going up to the 2nd floor and in the the master bedroom has a lot of stains on it.

Nice house with some issues

Overall the property was nice and spacious for our group of six adults and three children. However one of the big issues we had were the giant ants throughout the property. I know there were ant traps down but that didn’t stop the infestation. It just meant that there were also a lot of dead giant ants all over the place including on the bed when I first arrived. A couple of additional pain points are listed below. There was a NSFW game mixed in with the other family friendly games and puzzles. We had a damp basement because no one told us to empty the dehumidifier. Overall we still enjoyed our vacation!

Secluded cabin in the woods

Great cabin with tons of games and things to do. Very quiet location in the woods, great for stargazing! Heat works very well, well stocked kitchen with any small appliances you might need. Great for couples or families with kids

A great get away

This was a trip that will live with me the rest of my life. I was able to introduce my daughter I did not I had with my daughter and her daughter. Sister were able to meet such great experience to be shared Home Sweet Cabin. Thanks for the memories.

Very relaxing and quite.

We had a great time. Comfortable, cleaned, and enjoyed sitting on the deck . My husband loved the games and the hot tub. Definitely, we will come back next year. Thank you vrbo.

Great place !!!

Just me, my wife, and our two sons 12 and 17 traveled for the Spring Break. We love to have enough place and games to enjoy the stay, especially during this pandemics. The futsal table, ping-pong table, and air hockey table are great! Even during the spring, it is close to great state parks with a lot to see and activities to do. The cabin is very comfortable, two great Lazy Boys, TVs in each room (assuming you need them ... we did not), dishwasher, washing/drier machine, full equipped kitchen, etc., etc. Some people made comments about the thermostats. They are great, one in each room. The point is that if they show 60 °F, it becomes much warmer that that. With a temperature outside around 10°F overnight, just setting them around 55°F is more than enough. Not a big deal. Although it has space much more people, think about the logistics if the party includes two or three families. Upstairs, the master bedroom (king) with a big closet and a full bathroom is ok for say a couple, for example, in addition to a bed outside that bedroom. In the first floor, a first bedroom (queen) and a second bedroom with two beds is ok for a family of 4 or so. The bathroom has double entrance to the living-room and to the main bedroom. It may be ok. However, downstairs there is another bedroom (queen I guess) without a bathroom. So, they have to share the bathroom located in the first floor, which has a double entrance. It may be a good idea not to use the door that connects the bathroom with the bedroom. However, there is no lock. So, again, if the party includes two or three families, just plan ahead how to organize this. Of course, this did not affect us at all. Everything else was great. Thanks for sharing your place with us!

Sweet Home Cabin escape

The cabin was well supplied with necessities and entertainment gear. The setting is very peaceful. It is a little jaunt to get access to hiking and water sports, but it is still a very desirable location. It was very comfortable for 5 adults.

Girls Weekend

We enjoyed our stay. The upstairs shower door in the master bath is misaligned & does not open properly. Downstairs was very buggy & the mattress was lumpy, no support & leans to the middle. We appreciated that the facility had all the utensils & equipment needed for daily living. The hot tub was VERY nice after afternoons of kayaking, Hiking & biking. Thank you

Nice den in bear country

Nice sized loft in bear country. Wish we would have seen one. House was clean and spacious. Could benefit from a few subtle updates such as new living room couch (cushion spring blown), air hockey table (sounds like it may take flight) maybe new shower heads. Just a thought. The heating system was difficult to gauge, house heats up pretty easy and we found it to be very warm throughout, especially in the upstairs bedroom loft area. Overall, we had a very nice time in a private setting and would return in the future.

Not what we expected

The location was great. The house is in need of some serious renovations. Mattresses are extremely uncomfortable. Queen bed in the basement almost unbearable to sleep on. Thermostats in the house must be inaccurate. The house was set to 55-60 degrees and remained uncomfortably hot throughout our stay. Bathroom doors do not lock. With double door access, this was uncomfortable with mixed family rental. Gas fireplace had to be restarted numerous times during the stay, not user friendly. Family room furniture is outdated and uncomfortable. One cushion in particular is missing an area of padding. The hot tub is absolutely disgusting. There was a foul odor, scum on the surface and pink line along the water line. Doesn't appear to have been cleaned prior to our visit. Will not rent in the future.

great get away

It was our first time at deep creek. We selected this property bacause it was isolated from the other houses at a higher elevation in the woods. We loved the location. The main room with high ceilings was great. Basement is pretty isolated from the rest of the house, great for privacy. Linens were new and nice. We had a great stay

Great for families, Nice location, was near Lakes and State Parks.

Was clean, game room was a nice touch for the kids and plenty of space for each family member. During our stay, it rained but it didn't stop us from enjoying our stay. The house over all has some wear which could use some repairs like in the bath rooms. Easy Check In; Would rent in the future again.

Loved it would stay again. Everything was perfect once we got the right code to get in home.

We have stayed in so many homes here in Oakland. By far this was one of the best. Plenty of things to do in the home. It rained the whole time we were there. We also got a visit from Winnie the Pooh. Big bear It’s den is straight in the driveway there is a rock with a downed tree over it and his den is down inside.

It was spacious and had charm. I would say owners might consider updating one of the sofas on main floor as it is extremely uncomfortable and master bath shower head but overall an great cabin. I would like to add that the propert managers could stand to dust, clean cobwebs and spider webs more.

Wonderful Experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The home is clean and tidy. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking items and a few mini-sized cleaning items were laid out for our use. The heat works wonders and the beds are comfy as can be. We enjoyed watching classic Disney films on VHS and playing ping pong and air hockey. The drive to Wisp was a reasonable 17 minutes, however, I would have liked to have been a little closer. I was not made aware of the exact location of the home until 1 week before the vacation, a fact that I would personally have changed.

Get Away in the Woods with a beautiful deck and hot tub

The property was clean except for the top of the cook-stove and lots of cob webs. Only problems were the WI FY which was very poor and only worked on rare occasions and the gas grill that had not been cleaned for years.
