A 4 x 2 OR 4 x 4 vehicle can access this luxurious home which is located in the tropical southern zone of Costa Rica and is aptly referred to as “where the mountains meet the sea”. It is situated 900 feet above sea level thrusting 150’ forward from the mountainside like the bow of a ship. The site boasts a 270-degree cinematic view of prime rain-forest, fertile valleys, and a stunning ocean view as far as Manual Antonio (25 miles). Villa Desiderata might poetically be described as a penthouse apartment floating above the jungle canopy.

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION:
Villa Desiderata is a tropical paradise that sits on 3.5 acres in the upscale international community of Lagunas de Baru, just 14 minutes away from the ocean and restaurants and commercial services in Playa Dominical. It is adjacent to a 90-acre nature reserve and has a 120 meters waterfall and a delightful little stream bordering the property lines with a private sandero trail (235 steps) to take you there.(good exercise) . For those who wish to try loca fishing, the Baru River is located 8 minutes away and you can use a simple fishing line or a spear gun with a snorkeling mask giving you an experience you will always remember. Also available " Ocean fishing " with a local fisherman that charges affordable hourly rate .

A 4 x 2 OR 4 x 4 vehicle can access this luxurious home called Villa Desiderata and many other destinations in Costa Rica. If you plan to visit many local beaches or plan to drive in many side gravel road a 4 x 4 rental would be better suited for you .
Villa Desiderata is a two-story home and offers a surprising mix of international styles and moods with an eclectic blend of contemporary glass block, Egyptian columns, Japanese pavilion roofline, and cathedral ceilings. The staircase to the second floor is one way to come in and permits you to see a spacious bird aviary that can be viewed from the top ledge of the stairs and many second floor locations and some might prefer the private entrance located and found on one of the balconies on the second floor.

The rental property is located on the second floor of the villa and can be accessed either through the main entrance or through its own private entrance. It has two bedrooms , king beds with private balconies and adjacent bathrooms, it has a nice island combo kitchen for your cooking convenience (fridge/stove/micro-wave) with a nice eating area on a nice Guanacaste table and benches and large granite counter area on the isla to prepare the food , nice cedar cupboards and a large living Den area with a flat screen TV, and a nice 54 " pull sofa bed which can sleep an additional person or two childrens . There is an exterior rancho 15 x 15 for dining with a gas BBQ grill and seating area that can be accessed via a metal bridge from one of the bedroom balconies. Dine with spectacular views of amazing sunsets, relax with a good book or watch the abundant wildlife (monkeys, sloths, lizards, toucans, hummingbirds ,butterflies ,etc.).

There are many things to do in the area for entertainment and adventure. There are tours available for snorkeling and scuba diving, waterfall rappelling, whale and dolphin watching, horseback riding, mountain climbing, zip lining, viewing jungle canopies, white water rafting, hiking in Manuel Antonio, Corcovado, and Ballena Marine National Parks, quad rides, kayaking and many more activities. Enjoy golfing, fishing, mountain bike trails, Yoga and Pilates as well as many fine dining restaurants. A big groceries is at 12 minutes drive away . To note , Villa Desiderata is in between driving distance to 14-35 minutes drive from 6 nearby towns , a few hospitals , waterfalls and various beaches and If relaxation is also your goal, Villa Desiderata is a very peaceful private setting that allows you to get back in touch with yourself and nature. The owner retired lives on the main floor of the villa and loves to share the peaceful beauty of her villa. She will do her best to provide you with a memorable experience. The villa is open to singles, couples, retirees and alternative lifestyles. She has two dogs and 3 cats ( skittish) as well as a few birds in her outdoor aviary " Perico d"amour" . She has 2 dogs called " Fia & Thiana ( Blue Heelers/ Australian Bishops ) and are very friendly and love company . Fia & Thiana are in their dog coral in the day time with their own private dog pool and then brought in to spend the night in another sleeping quarter near the house from 4 pm - 6 am The girls do not roam freely in the day time or at night and are never allowed in the guest area.

For you cooking pleasure you find a nice island combo kitchen unit providing you lots of space to cook , (fridge/stove/micro-wave) that includes dishes and utensils, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender, rice cooker, electric frying pan, wok , and slow cooker; a large living area seats 5 that includes a 45” plasma TV with Netflix movies, STRONG wi-fi connection to a 15 x 15 outdoor rancho with 2 dining areas and gas grill. Also TV’s in both rooms. You will have full access to the grounds where you can pick any fruit that is in season and enjoy the large swimming pool which is solely used by the renters when they are renting here . Outdoor shower , adjacent to the house and perfect to use returning from a beach day , Gas dryer and washing machine (soap provided ). Also provided are board games, movies, sun chairs, chairs for the beach ,boogie boards and pool towels. There is FREE local calling as well to ANYWHERE in Canada and the US from the villa .
