Everything about our stay was perfect. Our host Shirley was amazing and made us immediately feel at home. The cottage is beautiful and sits on lovely grounds surrounded by an amazing garden. The location is walking distance to a quaint town and provides easy on -off access to the highway making it convenient to access all attractions and downtown Asheville.
This is a very cute and cozy cottage located in the garden of the owner’s home. It’s quiet and private and located within a short walk to the center of downtown.
What a wonderful trip, with fantastic accommodations in the lovely little cottage out back. Shirley is a gracious host, along with little Sugar, who is such a sweet pup. The garden is unmatched for its peace, beauty, and quiet serenity. If you’re looking for a place to relax, easily walk to downtown, and just soak up the beauty of the mountains, look no further.
Lovely and relaxing oasis walking distance to all Black Mountain has to offer. Clean , quiet and perfectly appointed for a home away from home. Wonderful host.
This cottage was just right for a mother daughter weekend. It was very clean, had comfortable beds, and every detail was considered! It was also a very convenient location. We would absolutely stay there again next time we visit Black Mountain.
This cottage made for an excellent place to live and relax in while we spent the week on vacation. The owner, Shirley, was super nice and accommodating. If you're new or old to the area of Black Mountain or Asheville, this is definitely the cottage to enjoy your surroundings in.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Even though the cottage was small, it was perfect and had everything we needed. And the porch was so great to sit and enjoy the beautiful gardens and listen to the birds. We enjoyed talking with the owner and meeting her little dog Sugar.
Best place yet !!!!!! Shirley the host is the best
Perfect from start to finish

Charming cottage
We loved our stay at this adorable cottage. The interiors were decorated tastefully and the gardens just beautiful. The place is very peaceful and convenient to downtown, too. We hope to come back soon. Thank you , Shirley.
We were visiting Black Mountain to check on progress at our construction site. We have visited a variety of properties throughout our many visits. This property was extra special in that the cottage is located in the gardens behind the owner's primary residence. The pathway to the cottage and the garden in the backyard are magical and filled with many varieties of hostas, japanese maple, etc. The porch is lovely and the interior of the home was comfortable, clean, and well-decorated. The kitchen was equipped perfectly for our brief stay. We will definitely be returning to this property in the months ahead!
The cottage was as advertised. Fantastic place to stay, close to town and beautiful garden area even though it was the off season. We plan on coming back when its in full bloom. Shirley is awesome!! Can't wait ro go back, sit around the fire and have margaritas with her!!
GARDEN WAS MAGICAL DAY OR NIGHT . SHIRLEY WAS A GREAT HOSTESS AND GAVE US WONDERFUL INSIGHT INTO THE LOVELY TOWN OF BLACK MOUNTAIN . WOULD STAY AGAIN IN A HEART BEAT .
Excellent use of space. Had everything we needed.
Delightful owner. Beautiful cottage and garden. Walking distance to quaint town. Short drive to groceries.

Bathroom at night
Fell on the stairs in the middle of the night because the bathroom is on a different floor.
This is what non-hotel vacation is all about. All places should be like this. Great host, location, ambiance and relaxation. Quite frankly, adding more words is just a distraction. If in the Black Mountain area and traveling as a couple (as we were), this is the place.
My husband and I spent four nites at this lovely location. Accommodations were superb and hostess was most accommodating. The beautiful front porch and yard made us want to stay in most evenings, rather than dine out. Which is what we did.
Hope to return in the fall.

This property was as charming and welcoming as described. What is hard to put into words is the wonder of Shirley's garden, swing, water feature, and birdsongs! I loved the freedom of walking to nearby neighborhoods, restaurants, and lake, but especially the spacious covered porch to relax...even in the rain. Thanks Shirley for your kind welcome!
My wife and I visited Black Mountain for a mid-week getaway. The mountain vistas and the quaint town filled with outstanding restaurants were just what we expected. But, this cottage was an unexpected surprise. This cozy, beautifully decorated cottage and its wonderful garden, was the highlight of our trip. We had the best time relaxing in the garden enjoying the beautiful flowers, song birds, and fire flies. Can’t wait to do it again.
