Really enjoyed our stay, the Villa was lovely but slight lack of shade late afternoon. Pool area lovely. Great value for money and would highly recommend. Slept very well whilst there as the beds were very comfortable.
Local village had lovely Tavernas with home cooked food and very friendly.
Beautiful property, spotless and incredible views. Needs to advise car hire as impossible to walk back from the beach in Greek sun. Easily sorted though thanks to friendly neighbours 😀
2 weeks in this glorious villa, Maria and family came a few times to clean and change beds, they were very welcoming and lovely.
Pool was lovely temperature and clean.
Car is essential as location is a little remote (not a bad thing).
Beds are very firm but didn’t affect us. Simply glorious.
Lovely villa in a beautiful setting. Spotless and well equipped. Pool area is overlooked by a very close bedroom balcony from neighbouring villa that shares the grounds. Owners come regularly to clean and empty bins and check all is ok.
Everything was perfect. The owners very kind and always ready to help us. Wonderful view and location. Villa very clean and well equipped. Swimming pool superb! The only little negative aspect is the small size of the bathrooms. But we would like to be back to Villa Nostalgia!

Villa Nostalgia Plaka Crete
The villa was a lovely size with plenty of crockery etc and very clean. One day we went out leaving our breakfast dishes in the sink and Maria came and washed up even though she didn't need to. Outside area very well set out round the pool. Walk to Plaka for the restaurants was quite easy but need a torch coming back.
We loved it, beautiful villa with lovely views, s9 peaceful, well thought out provisions and a generous welcome pack. We had a lovely stay. Local village Plaka had a small selection of nice tavernas and Almyrida a further lovely choice with a good sandy beach, pretty views and not overly touristy.
My only slightly negative point is that it was described as a short walk to local shops and tavernas. This was a 5-7 minute drive to Plaka and a further 5 minutes drive to the beach, all downhill there and uphill on way back. We did not attempt to walk it but i would not consider it a short or easy walk at all. For us car was essential, which we had but didn't necessarily want to have to drive every day.
First, the Villa was beautifully set with absolutely stunning views over the bay of Souda to the north and to the White Mountains to the south-west. The kitchen was very well-appointed with the best electric Cooke I’ve ever used. The pool is a wonderful asset. The house is convenient for shops, restaurants and beach. Maria and Giannis are lovely people, very welcoming, and obliging, with Maria, especially enjoying a good laugh in Broken English and broken Greek.
But, the house is not without its shortcomings and irritations. Two of the bedrooms are too small for the furniture, so we couldn’t open the windows and the cupboards fully and the doors hit the beds when opened. We tried moving the beds together to give more space, but the lamp cable then didn’t reach the socket. A longer cable would solve the problem. Given the large site and the huge upstairs balcony, I am bewildered as to why the bedrooms couldn’t have been made a touch bigger. The beds themselves are like concrete, and even our builder friend wasn’t strong enough to tuck the sheets in. Moreover, the sheets on the double bed were too small to cover two average/small people, so we slept in separate rooms. It is not hygienic to have sheets spread directly on top of mattresses that serve sequences of guests. They should use mattress covers that can be laundered between guests. The downstairs shower is microscopic even by Greek standards. It is impossible to stand inside the tiled enclosure to shower because the huge tap protrudes halfway across it. A smaller, higher tap and a larger enclosure would help. We had to turn off the water pump at night because it kicked in every ten minutes with loud whirring noises, waking us up. The big water tank in the garden developed a bad vibration which sounded like a pneumatic drill outside the bedroom windows. Giannis quickly turned up to effect a Greekishly improvised mend with string and plastic bags.
Finally, by far the worst shortcoming was the smell from the drains in both bathrooms. We tried everything. Covering the holes with a plastic mat, pouring down dishwasher fluid, putting upturned bowls over them, but the smell was hideous enough to send us running out of the living room every time the shower room door was opened. It made the downstairs rooms almost uninhabitable and even woke me up in my bed upstairs one morning. It must be fixed, or guests won’t return. It’s a real shame; it’s a lovely place.

I am sorry that you found it uncomfortable with 2 bathrooms at Villa Nostalgia. Unfortunately you did not read the HomeAway/Arbitel listing correctly, because if you did you would see that there are 2 bathrooms in the house itself, and 1 shower by the pool. It does not say that there are 3 bathrooms inside the villa. We always want our guests to have a fantastic holiday at our villas and we do write a full description and supply many photos. It is a shame that not all of our guests read things in full. I do hope that you, at least enjoyed the fantastic views and the beautiful surrounding area. Best wishes, Frankie at Villas Crete Holidays.
