We loved this house. The kitchen was stocked well, and the bedrooms were really comfortable. We really enjoyed the decks overlooking the lake. We also liked that we could tie our boat up at the dock at the house. We enjoyed swimming and fishing off the dock. The driveway to the house was a little narrow for our boat trailer but we parked our trailer next door at Lake Shafer Boat rentals since that is where we launched our boat. We hope to stay here again!

This is the fourth time we have stayed here. It is the absolute best set up and communication is always a 10/10. The dock and fishing is always a highlight and the main floor is perfect for family hangouts. The smell of the water is always the only sore spot for us. Last year, the smell seemed so much better and we were so excited, but the rotten egg smell was back again. Everything else about this home and location is wonderful.

It was a very relaxing and quiet stay overlooking the lake. Really enjoyed seeing all the geese and other birds early in the mornings when they began talking off. I’m sure the experience during the summer would be much different than our stay over Thanksgiving week, but then all the possible water activities and the near by amusement park become available.

Pros: Gorgeous house. Great location near Indiana Beach. Good communication.Cons: light switches are linked to certain outlets so it’s hard to know which controls what. And the big problem is there is a 250 “cleaning fee” that is non refundable. It also wasn’t mentioned in the listing. We found out when we got the contract. So you have to pay a cleaning fee yet you are expected to leave the house in clean condition. So what is the fee for? We understand if someone leaves the house a mess the owner has to pay someone to clean it. But we actually left it cleaner than when we checked in (counters were super sticky). It seems like just a shady way to charge more for the rental than the already pricey 2,200 for three nights.But it was a great weekend in a gorgeous house in a great location.

Nice stay on Lake Shaffer

We stayed for 3 nights. The property was just a short walk from Indiana Beach amusement park. Watching the ferris wheel lights at night was a family favorite.

The house was spacious and lovely with a wonderful view of the lake. Location was easy to find and parking was ample. The bedrooms were good size and the bathrooms were comfortable. The kitchen, dining area and great room were very convenient and comfortable. The two decks and lakefront were excellent. I needed a spacious five bedroom rental and this was about perfect.

Family enjoyed our stay at this lake home. There was plenty of space and sleeping quarters. The house was very clean inside, would recommend outdoor furniture and spaces be cleaned up a bit before guests arrive, debris, leaves, spider webs, and bird droppings. I would reccomend this vacation home, beautiful views.

Had a great stay, house was clean and all of the furniture was very nice. Had 10 people, plenty of room for everyone. Rented a pontoon boat and was able to pull right up to the house at the dock. Would definitely stay there again. So close to Indiana Beach, too!

Overall the property was exactly what we were looking for to host our family vacation this year. Being right on the water and within walking distance to Indiana Beach (5 minutes) allowed our family to have a ton to do during our stay. The only two small critiques would be 1) the firepit area is quiet small and doesn't really allow for sitting next to it and 2) the decks could use a good power washing as they felt slightly dirty. Overall, the place was great and we would stay here again at this price point!
