Wonderful home in a fabulous location

Simply fabulous. This is beautiful old townhouse in the heart of Rethmyno old town. It is immaculately clean and set up well for visitors. The layout is open plan throughout and kept cool with great air con. The terraces are lovely for sitting with a book and listening to the world go by. The roof terrace becomes very hot after mid morning but is great for an evening cooldown. The location is ideal for a short walk into the old town/harbour but far enough away to avoid any hustle and bustle that comes with a summer season. The location encouraged us to frequent local cafes and restaurants that were less tourist based. Communications with Manolis was great and he was quick to respond with really helpful information/answers throughout our stay.We will revisit (soon).

I cannot recommend this property highly enough - it was amazing. Not only is it stylish and beautifully decorated, it contains everything you would need and more. It was also spotlessly clean. Usually when on holiday, the time spent in our accommodation is minimal but this time we all enjoyed relaxing in the villa. The property is also in a fabulous location, right in the heart of the old town and minutes away from many shops, restaurants and the beach. We communicated with hosts via WhatsApp and they were very responsive. We didn’t have any issues but I felt confident they would have dealt with them efficiently if we had. The only downside was the car parking. There are several free car parks and road parking nearby but spaces were at a premium due to the number of tourists staying in Rethymnon who don’t have parking at their property. Given that we didn’t use the car all week, we will investigate getting a taxi from the airport next time and just hire a car for a day, as and when we need one..

The best stay!

I have travelled around Europe regularly for the last 8 years and stayed in many apartments and this was by far the best! I came to stay here for five days in early March, it's a beautiful old town and the apartment is right in the centre. 5 minute walk to the beach, great shops and lots of places to eat. I am a female solo traveller and felt very safe in the town and people were helpful and friendly. I also knew I could contact Effie if I had any issues and she would have helped me out! Effie came to meet me to let me in and showed me around. She recommended so many brilliant places across the island, to walk, to eat, to swim! These are places I wouldn't have found on websites or under my own steam. There was some food for me to cook as I had arrived around lunch time with the best olive oil made by Effie. There was a lovely bottle of wine from her vine yard and some raki to try, as well as fruit and a few snacks. The apartment is stunning, well equipped with anything and everything you could possibly need. Effie would keep in touch, she advised when there was a celebration happening in the town which was amazing fun. I cannot recommend this place highly enough, thank you for a beautiful stay.

Visit to Casa Vitae, Rethymnon (upstairs apartment) - Sep 2022

Our family of 4 (2 adults with 2 daughters in early 20s) had a fabulous holiday in Crete. The apartment is wonderful with all the charm of an old building which has been sympathetically restored and modernised to a high standard. All the rooms are large and we found having two bathrooms to be a bonus. The swimming pool is very small, so not ideal for keen swimmers, but excellent to cool down in whilst reading a book and drinking a cold glass of wine! This suited us perfectly! The location of the apartment is equally as impressive, being right in the heart of Rethymnon "Old Town' with less than a minutes' walk to the town's best shops and restaurants and 10 mins to the beach. There are several supermarkets within a short walk and a fabulous bakery about 10 minutes walk away. Communication was with a delightful lady called Athina via Whats App. She sent excellent directions to help us to find the apartment and then met us at there when we arrived. Athina showed us around and then talked us through some of the best places to go on the island. During our week long stay, Athina answered any questions we had very promptly and although we didn't actually have any problems with the apartment, I have now doubt that Athina would have dealt with them very efficiently if we had. I would say that the only downside is that there is no private parking so we parked in a public car park. Not a problem except that parking in Rethymnon is a challenge so it wasn't always easy to find a space. Having said that, there is so much to do in Rethymnon, we found that we didn't use the car much, other than to travel to the beautiful beaches which are on the south coast. I would highly recommend this apartment and Rethymnon as a holiday destination. We are already planning our visit for next year!

Very quaint comfortable house ideally situated for old town in Rethynmon

We have recently returned from a lovely week staying in Sophia’s house. Perfect for 2 couples & 5 mins to the restaurants of the old town. 10-15 minutes walk to the beach. Maria couldn’t have been more hospitable, helpful & generous. We were greeted with an array of food including breakfast foods, fruit & salad, a whole cooked chicken as well as a copious supply of Raki. Would highly recommend if you want to be in the centre of Rethynmon.
