I stayed here while attending the Kachemak Bay Writers' Conference and it was totally my speed...cute, simple but well-equipped with those amenities that really matter (hot water; kitchen implements...) my only complaint, which is, of course, all on me, is that I didn't have much spare time during my visit to properly appreciate it fully! I would totally stay here during future Homer visits.

Wonderful through and through!
This is a cute Aframe cottage with a beautiful view of Homer and the mountains! Darren and Lorraine were such sweethearts and they went above and beyond to help us be comfortable and feel right at home. It's perfect if you're on the go exploring The Last Frontier and are in for adventure. I am definitely coming back next year!
Good A-frame, but it’s arañuelo when rains is not good
The accommodation is very good, you have all things you need to cook, but we had the rainy season, the end of August 2023, and it is very difficult to go to the bathroom or the common area, there are a lot of puddles. In the A- frame you don’t have wifi you have to ho to common area
We felt like it was false advertising- we thought we had a kitchen so we bought a whole lot of groceries and never used them. We thought we had a bathroom and running hot and cold water.
We thought we had a living room to sit and relax, we thought we had a view.
The outside was extremely messy and unkept. The shower backed up with sewer and stepped in dog poop on our trail. We would never have chosen this had we known.

The pictures and the description of the property is accurate, including “a short walk to the full amenity bathroom with a toilet, shower with hot water and deep sink. The cabin is supplied with all that you need to cook your meals.
This couple chose the smallest cabin on the property. We do have larger cabins with more amenities with living space and private bathroom.
When this couple arrived later in the evening, they immediately made demands for extra items not normally supplied. Interrupting five times, the grilled dinner I was having with other guests.
I supplied did them with everything extra they asked for, including bringing them a grilled salmon dinner because they arrived too late to eat out.
There is a project we are working on that may appear unkept but not in any of the guest areas.
The sewer did back up unfortunately, but we did get it cleared immediately and sanitized the entire bathroom.
The bottom line is; we bent over backwards to please this couple. We treat all of our guest with respect and we go the extra mile for our guest to be comfortable and have a nice stay. We also live on the property and it isn’t comfortable when guest are not happy.
Not once did this couple inform us that the cabin they rented wasn’t what they had expected. We have been known to upgrade at no extra expense when another cabin is available.
II we had known the guest would be unpleasant to host no matter what you did for them, we would have preferred to have the cabin empty.
We loved everything about this magical little getaway. The adorable A-frame cabin has a super comfortable mattress, generous number of pillows, and basic appliances inside. Distant glaciers peek out from the trees as you wander across the farm. A gentle soundscape of goats and chickens can be your morning alarm. Come here to have an artistic homesteading experience and connect with nature over wifi.
Host did not respond to messages or provide instructions on how to check-in, basically left me hanging.

Amey, sent me a message that she was excited to come, confident she knew where she was booked and also that she was on her way, so I was perplexed and concerned that she didn’t show up or call, I reached out to her.
We send confirmation receipts after booking so I am uncertain about what happened.
If any guest books with me and is not sure about check in or location, I encourage them to contact me directly.
Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. I would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone. The owner is Amazing and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and at home. Easy to get to all things in Homer or out on the Homer Spit. Clean and comfy. Great Vibes and Awesome Energy!!!
We loved our stay in the A-frame and will definitely be back to stay in the other units on the property. We loved the chickens, the common area fireplace/views, and the bbq was a great addition.
Thank you!

Quaint lil Homer place, great people, peaceful energy and AMAZING muffins!
We absolutely loved our stay here. The grounds are so authentically "Homer". The tree house was fabulous. We only stayed one night but now that we know about it, we will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Warm and welcoming cabin!
We stayed a week at the A-Frame cabin and loved it. The place was perfect for our trip. A cute setup that my wife loved. Had a small kitchen with stove and oven that we were able to cook every evening for the majority of our trip. One of our main concerns was if we would be cold at night for our first trip in alaska. The bed had plenty of blankets to keep us warm and a space heater close by that we never needed but good to have just incase. Darren and Lorraine were so friendly and accommodating. They had recommendations for places to eat and hikes. Made us feel truly welcomed to explore around their property. The back pasture and the tree house had amazing views of the mountains and Glacier. We would be glad to stay there again if we ever find ourselves in the Homer area.

Last resort.
The price is higher then what is asked on the site. The A-frame is cramped, the heater has to be turned off and back on because it gets too hot then too cold. If you have any plans for getting dirty and need to lay stuff out good luck. Very un functional if you plan on doing anything other then having a bed for the night. Spend another twenty bucks on a better place.
