Set in a very Spanish community, in beautifully maintained, mature tropical gardens with a large pool. Private patio offers shade under a flowering pergola, there is also a secluded front garden with a seating area. All 3 upstairs bedrooms are air-conditioned (sleeping 5). If needed, also a comfortable basement conversion (sleeps 2) with own bathroom, own air-conditioning & TV can be made available. Separate Central Heating for the winter in all rooms in the house. Upstairs bedroom has a small terrace with sea view.
Equipped with washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave oven, electric kettle, toaster. Located very near beach (3 min walk), all amenities, beach promenade, bars, restaurants, shops; water sports on a beach within easy walk. Historic town Mojacar Pueblo within 2 miles, Aqua Park within 10 miles, near golf course. A choice of easily accessible local points of interest.

An absolutely fabulous holiday. The house is wonderfully comfortable, the gardens are gorgeous, and despite high season (we were there in August) we often had the pool entirely to ourselves. The sea is just steps away, with an inviting promenade for easy strolls. A real treasure — we will definitely return.

Kitchen was well equipped for a long stay, however there was a sewage smell in the lounge that we caught not eradicated, even with bleach. Bed duvets were not adequate for winter stays.

Thank you for your review, Susan. I’m pleased to hear the kitchen met your needs. Regarding the smell you mentioned: the community gardens were carrying out maintenance works that week and managed to perfume the whole neighbourhood. This was entirely outside our control, but fortunately very short lived — certainly not a regular feature of the community. As for the duvets, the house is fully stocked for winter, though it seems our agent didn’t lay out the full set. We’ve asked them to be a little less ‘minimalist’ in future. The house has been recently renovated and is maintained to a very high standard, and we’re always happy to assist guests during their stay — we respond immediately when given the chance. We wish you more favourable external conditions and a more generous duvet arrangement in your future travels.

Lovely villa in quiet setting

Had a lovely time and the villa was as expected and nice and quiet as off season but still plenty of bars and restaurants nearby and sea only 100 yards away. Only comments I would add are that the beds need replacing with sprung divans as not comfortable, and we would have appreciated a basic welcoming pack (tea, coffee, salt, milk, water) as if arrived later then nothing in the villa at all! Also I thought the hire of a cot and high chair at 20 euros each item for the week was not on. Apart from these we had a great time and very clean and comfortable with super gardens , shared pool and terrace.

Super family holiday

I have just returned from a lovely fortnight staying at this property. the house was beautifully clean, spacious, had air conditioning in all the bedrooms and was set in well maintained shared gardens with a very clean large swimming pool. it is a 5 minute walk from the beach and supermarket with plenty of restaurants close by. It is set in the quieter end of Mojacar and appears to be a very popular destination for Spanish families. We had some problems with a group of noisy French 20somethings in the house next door however the key holders 'Agent Mojacar' were very helpful and dealt with them. We often found that we had the pool and gardens to ourselves for a couple of hours in the afternoon whilst the Spanish holiday makers/residents had their siestas. The price of food and drink very reasonable and there was a super choice of places to eat.

2nd Review and Appalled

We arrived with 3 children needing a sleep so put them to basement room. Unfortunately, there was an ant infestation happened overnight when the owner left (that is what owner said) they were crawling all over our grand children's beds, the floor, shower and whole area. My husband and I moved into a hotel for a night and gave our family our room upstairs (our cost not covered). The property manager said she would have area sprayed and set an traps, there was no way though our grandchildren could sleep down there while that went on. We decided to moved out! The agent said she could arrange a large taxi van because there was 9 of us, to let her know when ready. We tried calling and emailing because she said she would be there and she has not answered yet! We took 3 taxis again full cost was ours. The owner did say she would refund us but when we requested help with extra costs got upset with us, and then told me to contact VRBO to cancel. The owner did not feel it necessary to help with the extra costs we had so therefore we are substantially out of pocket, even meeting half way would shown some consideration. The dishwasher is rusty inside. We had to change the gas on arrival. The front door jams and I could not close it when there in my own. Could not lock the back gate to keep the children safe - the pool was out that gate. Stairs to basement are dark and just concrete. The sofas are unusable with bits sticking out of them, or else we would have slept there instead of going to a hotel. The crockery and cutlery had dried food on them, linens are well used and needing replaced. Every room is very tired. We had to hire a car because could only get a place on edge of town. We lost 2 days of our precious holiday time. I was still being hounded by the owner telling me to remove my review before she would complete the refund!! VRBO have said this kind of behaviour is not their policy and they will be following it up with her. They have in fact refunded me every penny. (Hoping it arrives soon). The house is in a tired state. Mojacar, is on long strip like Blackpool and is extremely busy with Hen/Stag nights over the weekend. Teenagers are also brought in by buses to the resort over the weekend. Just depends on what you are looking for resort wise, my advice though, avoid this place! I have photo/video evidence over everything.

Es lamentable que (después de la tormenta y las lluvias extraordinarias) había una apariencia desagradable en el corridor del sótano del garaje de la comunidad y que esto le oscureció la experiencia de los vacaciones en nuestra casa! Wonderful holiday! Loved this beautiful property!

Just returned from a week's holiday at this lovely property. We were a large family of 8 adults. My husband and I, our three adult children and their partners. We all agree that the property was fabulous! It was spotless clean when we arrived. The kitchen is nice and big and very well equipped. Plenty of China, glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils. The fridge is large with a decent size freezer. I especially appreciated the dishwasher! The lounge was a decent size and the 'kids' enjoyed the TV occasionally. Loads of English channels and easy instructions. We all found the WiFi a bit slow and patchy at times. It worked best out on the patio or by the pool. But hey we didn't come on holiday to spend all our time online! The bedrooms upstairs were lovely. Our master bedroom was gorgeous. It had a small balconey which overlooked the rear patio and pool. Loads of storage cupboards. We slept well. The other two upstairs bedrooms were a double with a balconey overlooking the front pretty patio and large single bedroom. A large bathroom with a decent overhead shower. The downstairs basement conversion was a lovely surprise. We didn't know quite what to expect but all 3 of the other couples argued over who should have it! It is a lovely self contained apartment in itself (no kitchen). It's huge! A table and chairs, sofa, bed, own TV and a separate bunk bed. It's own shower room with the washing machine in an alcove. It only has very small basement windows so not much natural light but that didn't really matter. There is also a small loo and shower on the ground floor as you come in the front door. Very useful. Outside was a pretty front patio with a small table and chairs and at the rear a very large but pretty patio with a big table and chairs that all 8 of us could sit around each mealtime easily. There are a few steps leading from the patio to the garden and pool area. The gardens are so well kept and the pool was spotlessly clean. We loved the pool! It is one of the nicest we have ever used. Many times we were the only people using it. The air conditioning throughout the property was wonderful to have. The location is excellent. One road back from a nice quiet beach. Very close to Thomases supermarket and near lots of restaurants. Our one and only criticism is the beds! Our master bed was fine but all the others really struggled with them being very wobbly and unstable. Overall, a fabulous property which we would love to return to. Thankyou

Great family holiday

We have stayed here before so we knew what to expect. The complex is really safe for children as the only access to the gardens and swimming pool is through the town houses. We arrived on an early flight but were able to talk with the management agent. She came a short while later after we had eaten and met us in the local tapas bar and completed formalities before gaining entry. Luckily we came for our HoIiday during a really hot spell, thank goodness for air conditioning, the units in the bedrooms helped cool everyone down in the evenings and the main room one kept us all sane! There are a table and chairs on the terrace where we had some pleasant meals and which was only a few steps away from the gardens. One of the major plus points of this property is that it is literally only a hop skip and a jump away from the community swimming pool. We had a 7 and a 4 year old spending most of their time in the pool. It improved their confidence no end. There is a little supermarket very close by and also a local bus route up to Mojacar village ( well worth a visit, market day is on a Wednesday) We used a shuttle bus from Almeria airport which was excellent ( exclusive airport shuttles ). Pick up and drop off was right outside the supermarket. We will return again and dream of buying a property in this complex

We so enjoyed our stay in this lovely house, well appointed, beautiful gardens, and pool. Add to this that the beach & dozens of bars & restaurants are only a few minutes walk away, it was just perfect for us.

A little bit of Paradise

We stayed at this lovely villa for four weeks this October (2014). The complex is absolutely beautiful, the gardens and plants are amazing and the pool area quiet and relaxing. The accommodation itself exceeded our expectations. The basement conversion is very tastefully done and the rest of the accommodation has everything you could possibly need, a real home from home. Our grown up children came out with their partners for a week and they absolutely loved the house and the complex and of course Mojacar. We have been regular visitors to the area for about 15 years now and can honestly say this is the best place we have ever stayed. In fact I have already booked it again for next October. Plenty of golf courses nearby, great restaurants, reasonable prices and a beach that goes on forever. Mojacar Village, set back about half a mile from the beach, is enchanting and there are too many beautiful and interesting places nearby to mention. The agents that deal with house are extremely helpful and easily contactable is you need them. Loved everything about it, can't wait to go back.

Brilliant holiday!

This was our first time in Spain and the experience was overwhelmingly positive. This property was perfect for our family and we enjoyed the pool, the beach and the general atmosphere of Majocar Playa. Comfortable, well-positioned accommodation made it a perfect holiday for everyone. Would definitely plan to go again.

We fell in love with Mojacar long time ago and invested a lot of effort in finding this place that we cherish and enjoy with family and friends whenever we can.
We care about Mojacar, we like the fact that there are building restrictions that don't allow any high rise construction to spoil the area. We care about nature, I love plants and flowers, they make the place feel like a tropical oasis.
Our house and the whole community, is well looked after. We made our place as comfortable as possible, we like our comforts, especially on holidays!

Why they chose this property

We always wanted a place in Spain as close to the sea as possible, with a nice pool, where you could enjoy long walks without needing a car, easy to reach (airports/transfers), and one that was still very "Spanish", not totally taken over by tourists but full of character.
We didn't want to contribute to the massive over development of the coast and so wanted a house that was already there, set amongst lush & mature tropical gardens, a place that had real Andalusian flair.
We wanted to enjoy the sun, but also to have a cooling shade on the terrace, we wanted to have it really comfortable too!
We researched a lot to find such a place that ticked all the boxes, and were so lucky to find it! We spend all our holidays here and offer it to rent at other times for others to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

From our house you can still go to some places that are unspoiled, through stretches of the coast (towards Carboneras) where you can enjoy the pristine beauty of the coastal Natural Park landscape. It is unfortunate that the Spanish coast has been so overdeveloped, but Mojacar and surrounding areas still retain a lot of its original character and beauty, whilst Mojacar Pueblo is a real vibrant town celebrating its traditions, "fiestas", music and song.
You have it all here: you can stay in the house, enjoying the pool and the sea, no need for a car to get around to local bars, restaurants, shops. But there is also plenty to explore - the mountains, traditional fishing villages (Agua Amarga), as well as the attractions of Vera Water Amusement Park, Mini Hollywood or even Grenada (2 hours drive away).
