**Beginning April 1st, the spa will be temporarily closed to allow for core drilling of new plumbing. The construction phase is expected to take approximately three (3) weeks, weather permitting.**

HILTON HEAD ISLAND. Main Sail – a luxurious villa complex on Hilton Head Island overlooking Shelter Cove Marina in Palmetto Dunes resort. Each villa features water views from almost every room, screened porch, two master suites, and many upgrades. A private gated entrance leads to the centrally located Main Sail complex with beautifully landscaped grounds.

Amenities include an expansive adult pool and spa, children’s wading pool, grilling area, and a playground. Enjoy strolling the extensive walkways around Shelter Cove Marina, which offers an array of wonderful restaurants and shops. Convenient bike paths lead to the beach in Palmetto Dunes. Main Sail also has and elevators to all floors.

This beautiful Hilton Head villa offers great harbor and pool views. The entry features tile flooring and an eat-in bar for three.

Off the kitchen is a dining area for six and a living area with TV, Boston Acoustics stereo, sliding glass doors to a pool front balcony, and another slider to a screened porch overlooking the harbor.

This great villa boasts two master suites. The first has a king bed, TV, door to the poolside balcony, walk-in closet, and a private bath with jetted tub and separate shower.

The second master has a king, TV, door to the harbor view screened porch, walk-in closet, and a private bath with jetted tub and separate shower.

The third bedroom has two twins, a TV (streaming only), reach-in closet, and a private bath with shower.

The laundry room is located off the entry with a full size washer and dryer.

This fabulous villa is wonderfully equipped to meet all of your vacation needs.

Perfect getaway

We had a wonderful vacation at Mainsail! It was our visit to this location at Hilton Head and we would absolutely stay here again. The location was ideal with the beautiful pool, shopping convenient , and the beach a few minutes drive. I’d absolutely recommend staying here!

Loved our stay at 407 Main Sail. Loved the location with views of the Marina & pool. We enjoyed our evening walks around the marina with the boats lit up for the holidays, so festive. Was great having 2 master suites. All the furniture was comfortable & our family especially loved the multiple recliner options. It was perfect place to cook our Thanksgiving dinner & enjoy safe dining with the screened porch & covered patio. We would definitely stay here again.

The beds are worn out. Lump and bumps

Everything was great but the beds for my family were hard uneven with swaging in the middle. Slept mostly on the couch. Fix the beds.

Love the location and usually Mainsail but this condo desperately needs some updating and cleaning. The refrigerator had rust stains, broken ice maker and needed cleaning. The dishwasher looked like it was from the 70s and worked sporadically. Spent the first day we were in the condo cleaning. $2400 a week and had to go out and buy multiple cleaning products- especially during Covid! The furniture was rough, especially the living room pieces. If the rental fee was $1000 a week I wouldn’t be disappointed but expected way better for $2400 a week! :( Views were great though.

July 2020 Stay

It is an awesome location and we’ve stayed several times at MainSail. This unit is very tired. It looks like the original kitchen. It is due for an update. Neither porch has a ceiling fan. Every other unit we’ve stayed in at MS had a ceiling fan on the porches. The kitchen trash can was cheap white plastic and the bottom needed to be wiped out. Just wasn’t the caliber of unit we’ve stayed in at MS. We would not choose it again if other units are available.

The condo was beautiful and immaculate. There are two master suites and a Thor bedroom with twin beds. Three full baths. The balconies overlooked the pool and the dock. The complex was new and well maintained. We loved the pool, which was never crowded. We would highly recommend this property.

Beautiful week in Shelter Cove HHI

We had a great week at 407 Mainsail! The property is in a wonderful location in HHI and you can enjoy all of the shopping, dining and scenery of the Shelter Cove area within walking distance. The condo is very spacious and has everything you need. We loved the screened deck overlooking the marina and spent many pleasant hours there enjoying the sun and people watching! Of course we got plenty of exercise each day along the bike/walking paths in the area and walking to the restaurants and shopping! The property owners (Nancy and Kirk) and all of the rental agents at Island Getaway were very pleasant and helpful, making this a great vacation experience!!

Nice condo and a fabulous location but not what I was expecting. I liked being able to walk to the various shops and restaurants and the beach was an easy bike ride. The Dunes Buggy was also very convenient and the drivers were very nice. The unit was surface clean but needs a pretty thorough cleaning as it was very dusty and we found lots of what looked like pet hair everywhere. Piles of dust behind/under TV units, furniture and tables and the bottom of my feet turned black from walking on the floor barefoot. My asthmatic daughter had lots of breathing issues. Walls needs a paint job and kitchen appliances need an update. Garbage disposal didn't work and backed up everywhere and even more so when the dishwasher was running. Light bulbs were out and needed replaced. Ice maker in the fridge didn't work and one of the toilets was constantly running. We had two units for the week and this one was much lower quality for the same price. The pool area was beautiful and had a good amount of chairs.

Love Shelter Cove

Shelter Cove is a lovely area in Hilton Head South Carolina with everything nearby. Our condo at 407 Mainsail was perfect for our group of 6. We each had a private washroom and the bedrooms were spaced apart so no one was ever bothered. The unit was clean and roomy. The bonus of a screened in balcony was perfect.

Rental property nice...weather not so nice!

We enjoyed our three week stay at this Main Sail property as it was spacious, nicely equipped and a good location with nice views and a beautiful pool area. We tried to spend as much time out on the screened in balcony but, the extremely humid and wet weather was a challenge at times. We always enjoy Shelter Cove as great walking for our dog Lucy, and my wife who has accessibility issues can better navigate the boardwalk with its many park benches located around many harbor sites. The condo owner Nancy and her management representative Island Getways were easy to deal with. Would recommend to anyone and definitely plan to book again.

Sun Filled Living

Such a clean and well furnished unit. Big kitchen for family cooking. Best of all was wrap around windows which gave you great view of pool, and sitting on the screen porch made you feel so close to the harbor, listening to the birds and smelling the air. Restaurants, entertainment, and shopping just feet away from this villa. I will stay there again.

Beautiful and pet friendly

It was difficult to find a pet friendlyVilla in a good location We really licked out! It was beautiful . We just happen to leave the water. To have a screened in porch with a view of the harbor while we enjoy our coffee was real treat. We also had an open porch looking over the pool where we could call to the children and watch them play. All we had to do in the evening was decide which of the many restaurants we would like to walk to for our evening meal. We hate t o leave, but we will be back.

A very luxurious home away from home.

I thought the condo was very nice. I love the big kitchen, big bedrooms, and the great convinience of having a balcony that looks right out onto the marina. I also loved the big 55" samsung LED TV, and the lovely 5.1 surround sound system made by Boston Acoustics. Overall I had a very lovely stay.

Wonderful Villa

Everything about this villa exceeded our expectations which were high before we arrived at Shelter Cove. The amenities, spaciousness, and appointments in this unit were top notch, and the location is the best on Hilton Head Island. Not only do you have the convenience of being on the cove with the restaurants and shops, but you are only a short, pleasant bike ride from the beach, golf and tennis courts at Palmetto Dunes. The two balconies suit any kind of day, whether sun or shade is in order - beautiful views of either the pool complex or the marina. We especially loved having our tea and coffee on the sunny balcony over the pool in the morning....and a couple of cold ones in the afternoon was a terrific way to unwind from the stress of trying to decide whether to play golf, tennis or walk the beach! We can't thank the owners enough for their hospitality and assistance. Having rented other units in Hilton Head over the years this has not always been the case. We would definitely recommend this villa to anyone, if your experience is anything like ours, you will thoroughly enjoy 407 Mainsail, and come back often as we hope to do. Don and Debbie, Ottawa, ON

A wonderful month's vacation

Our most recent Hilton Head Island stay prior to this was Sea Pines, and I was a little apprehensive about the location, but that disappeared immediately when we first drove into Shelter Cove and then walked into the villa. WOW is our best description. The villa is very spacious, luxuriously appointed, and located with quick access to shopping, golf, restaurants, and the beach is a short bike or car ride away. My wife and I enjoyed coffee and tea on the balcony in the morning and a glass of wine or beer there in the evening. We ate lunch at numerous restaurants and, for fun, compiled a log of She Crab soup reviews with Hugo's, across 278, the best. Redfish was our favorite restaurant, and Paulie's our favorite pizza. The bike catwalk under 278 greatly expands your range. The staff at the 3 golf courses in Palmetto Dunes were very accommodating. There are also lots of tennis courts a short bike ride away. The owner worked with us to enable starting a day early due to a funeral that changed our itinerary. That was greatly appreciated. We stayed in touch with the owner via e-mail throughout our month's stay and even afterward. The wireless worked very well, enabling us to stay in touch with our family, friends, and work. Great Vacation Property

This unit is even more luxurious than the pictures portray. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The furnishings are very high end, as well as the technology. The complex is really nice. Great pool and great view. You have a front row spot for the weekly fireworks. I thought I would miss being near the beach, but it’s easy enough to get to and we spent most of our time at the pool anyway. My husband loved the Jacuzzi tub. The owners are very accommodating and nice to work with. I can’t wait to come back!

Great Vacation Experience

My husband and I were just here recently in late February and our stay was nothing less than perfect. The shop and galleries downstairs were a real treat. Staying in Shelter Cove offered numerous amenities without having to get in the car (shopping, dining, pool, harbor and boat trips). Although we biked to the beach there is a free shuttle bus to take you to the beach. The condo is cozy and comfortable. The outside patio/deck is wonderful to enjoy coffee in the morning and watch the ships and canoes and we absolutely adored sitting on the porch at night, listening to the music over a glass of wine. Our stay was quiet, romantic and the trip of a lifetime. I have already recommended the property to all of my family and friends. We cannot wait to return to this beautiful place, hopefully this summer when we will have a front row seat on our balcony to the fireworks every Tuesday night.
