Decent place with a couple minor issues

Plenty of space just in a secure area up the hill from downtown Lugano. A couple issues: - Didn’t have hot water two days. Technician responded and fixed it same day we brought it up. Could not figure out the thermostat and don’t see the instruction book supposedly provided. - Garage is tiny and scraped the side of a compact rental even with my spouse guiding me. Mentioned to agency who said I could park elsewhere to include a paid spot. Found a free parking area instead. - TV: there was a Acer computer monitor, VCR, and other equipment. Didn’t even bother or care about it. Wi-Fi: fast and reliable. Laundry: Ad said: Laundry facilities. There was a 5 kilo washer and two half broken drying racks. Agency didn’t respond to my query. Hair dryer: broken and not functional. Agency do not address my message. Kitchen: all frying pans were cheap and very scratched. No idea what they were made of, but probably not very healthy. Decent overall, but ad could be more accurate.

2/10 Terrible

The house itself should be great but it is completely let down by terrible hosts and lack of due care.We were only there for 2 nights and it was only at the end of the first evening we lifted up the throw that was over the sofa. Not only was the sofa at the end of its days, with rips and stuffing falling out, it was absolutely infested with clothes moths. We happened to have insect spray with us but that didn’t guarantee anything other than that nights lifecycle was taken care of. This sofa was the only comfortable seat in the house (only kitchen chairs). As a family of four every one of us had been sitting on the sofa at some point. Who knows how many clothes moths may have been laying eggs on our clothes or around the rest of the house. The next morning I contacted the host “Happy” Rentals on their WhatsApp contact number. After a few hours I eventually got a reply asking what I wanted. I said that the sofa needed replaced. They eventually sent some poor guy around with a can of insect spray and towel to wipe up the mess. He did what he could do and sprayed as much as he could yet then just left after putting the throw back over the sofa. Said he would tell the office about it……. The host did less than nothing to rectify this and subsequently I have had no response to my complaint. Avoid this house and this Happy agency. There were other things bad about this place, not particularly clean, blinds on some windows not working, no blinds on two main windows

Franklin House

Anne-Valerie
