Pretty apartment with pool in stunning stone house in large quiet garden

La Marmotte is lovely fully independent apartment which forms a wing of a beautiful stone built traditional provencal house in three hectares of ground with chestnut trees. The house is approximately four kilometres from the medieval village of La Garde Freinet. The apartment is on the ground floor with a large stone terrace covered partly by a pergola with access to the grounds and the swimming pool. The swimming pool is private to the house and used by residents of the main house (rarely there) and the apartment. The house is situated close to vineyards and woodland with lovely walks with breathtaking views. The village of La Garde Freinet is a 30 minute walk from the property. The village hosts a market twice a week and has a full range of shops, including a small supermarket with cash point, bars and restaurants. This is an extremely comfortable apartment with everything you could need. Although adjoining our house, the apartment is totally separate and undisturbed. There is a private terrace with sunbeds and a table and chairs, all with cushions. The apartment is light and airy with good cupboard space. Living area with a sofa bed; Kitchen; Double bedroom; Bathroom. The private terrace is perfect for alfresco meals or just passing a quiet moment with a glass of wine and a good book. It is shaded by a metal frame pergola covered with wisteria. There is private parking adjacent to the apartment. There is flat screen TV

Cote d'Azure enjoyment

Very beautiful and cozy place with a large plot (garden) with southern pines and chestnuts, a large pool, you can enjoy breakfast and dinner with a beautiful view on the terrace under the wisteria and the sound of cicadas. Convenient location, 20 minutes by car to the beaches in Port Grimaund, Saint Maxime, Saint Tropez. Good communication with the owner and her assistant. For us, this is one of the few places we would like to come again.

Quiet property

This property is very small, you can not take much luggage. The wardrobe does not close properly. There is a lack of kitchen cupboard space, no room at all to put any food that you bought from supermarket.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt und die Ruhe dort genossen. Eine schöne Ferienwohnung mit einer gemütlichen Terrasse und einem großen Pool auf einem umfangreichen Gelände mit vielen Pflanzen und Bäumen.Der Check-In verlief problemlos.Es gab schönes Geschirr in reichlicher Anzahl, allerdings kein scharfes Küchenmesser. Das hatten wir aber selbst dabei.Leider gab es in der zweiten Urlaubswoche kein Internet und das Problem konnte auch nicht behoben werden.

Wunderbarer, erholsamer Urlaub

So, wie wir uns Urlaub gewünscht hatten:Ruhige Lage, ohne weitere Bewohner in den anderen Wohnungen, schöner Pool, tolles Ambiente der gesamten Anlage, gute Ausstattung der Wohnung und ein herrlicher Blick auf die umgebenden Berge, Wälder und vereinzelt liegende landschaftstypische Provence-Wohnhäuser.Zum Freiwasserbaden im Mittelmeer waren es nur rd. 30 Min. Fahrzeit.Unser bislang nicht einziger, aber schönster Provence-Urlaub!!Vielen Dank an Jenny!

Riesiger ruhiger Grundstück mit alter Steinhaus.

Das alte Steinhaus " La Marmotte" befindet sich angrenzend am Haupthaus auf ein sehr großer, schöner Grundstück, der "La Borie" heißt. Unsere Terrasse war mit einer Glyzine überdeckt welche Schutz vor der Sonne bietet. Einfach traumhaft morgens sein Café auf der Terrasse zu trinken und das Panorama zu genießen. Welcher teils atemberaubend ist. Am Haupthaus gibt es ein großer Pool, den wir täglich benutzen konnten. Auch eine Grillecke ist neben an eingerichtet. Es gibt 2 Feigenbäumen hinter dem Haus und wenn man Glück hat, haben die Eichelhäher Reife Feigen übrig gelassen, um zu essen. Wir hatten Glück und sie haben sehr lecker geschmeckt. Ein "Boule" Platz gibt es auch. Das typische "Pentanque" spielt man viel in Frankreich. Die Vermieterin Jenny, war sehr auf unser wohl bedacht und fragte zwischendurch wie es uns geht. Fanden wir gut. Alles in einem ist dieser Ort traumhaft ruhig mit viel Natur, Vögel und Schmetterlinge die das ganze abrunden. La garde Freinet ist nicht weit entfernt dort kann man durch die kleinen straßen spazieren. Port Grimaud ist auch ein besuch wert und alles nicht weit. Uns hat das Anwesen La Borie überzeugt und freuen uns auf la Marmotte nächstes Jahr wieder.

Perfekter Rückzugsort

Wir waren bereits zum zweiten Mal bei Jenny hier zu Gast und werden sicherlich wiederkommen. Die Wohnung hat Charme und das Haus ist ideal gelegen, wenn man etwas Ruhe und Natur sucht. Gleichzeitig ist man schnell im mondänen St. Tropez oder am Hafen von Grimaud. Die Weingüter in der Nähe sind auch einen Ausflug wert. Wir waren mit den Fahrrädern da und haben nur wenig MTB-erlaubte Strecken gefunden. Ansonsten muss man hier mit dem frequentierten Autoverkehr zurecht kommen. Von den sympathischen Besitzern bekamen wir Restauranttipps und sind auch sonst begeistert von der guten Küche Südfrankreichs. Jenny und ihr Ehemann pflegen das Areal sehr und es ist eine Wohltat, am Pool zu liegen und den schön angelegten Garten zu betrachten. Das Frühstück kann man wunderbar auf der Terrasse direkt vor der Küche genießen.

Heerlijk rustig huis met zwembad

We hebben hier twee heerlijke weken gehad. Het huis zelf is klein, maar goed uitgerust. Het terrein is enorm groot met een fantastisch zwembad, dat we privé konden gebruiken. Het huis ligt op een berg, dus je moet wel een kronkelweg afleggen om er te komen en boodschappen te kunnen doen, voor ons geen bezwaar. De communicatie met de eigenaar verliep bijzonder goed en vriendelijk. Kleine problemen worden onmiddellijk verholpen.

Wer schöne Natur und Ruhe mag ist dort richtig.

Wir hatten eine sehr ruhige, gute Zeit an diesem etwas abgelegenen Ort. Das Haus bietet alles was man braucht. Die Beschreibung für die Nutzung war deutlich. Bei der Ankunft erwarteten uns Erfrischungen im Kühlschrank das fanden wir toll. Allerdings war es in der Nacht schon sehr heiß im Haus. Der Pool war das Highlight und eine gute Möglichkeit um uns zu erfrischen.

Cadre préservé plein de sérénité

Nous avons passé 10 jours à la Marmotte et nous avons particulièrement apprécié le cadre très préservé de la propriété, avec une végétation magnifique et variée, beaucoup de calme, et de sérénité. La piscine est superbe et nager avec uniquement la nature comme environnement est un vrai privilège. La maison est lumineuse et parfaitement adaptée pour un couple. Une location parfaite si on recherche du temps et du silence pour se ressourcer, retrouver le plaisir de se détendre loin du bruit... Tout en étant très proche du très joli village de la Garde-Freinet avec de très bons petits restaurants Une parenthèse de bien-être, bienvenue après une année compliquée avec la crise sanitaire

Ein wunderschönes Anwesen mit einer tollen Lage zur Küste

Wir haben eine tolle Zeit in diesem sehr schönen Anwesen verbracht. Es war alles da, na ja kein Geschirrspüler, aber das wussten wir vorher. Auch wir haben den fantastischen Pool und die Nähe zur Küste sehr genossen. Für uns, die seit mehr als 10 Jahren nach Frankreich reisen, ist es einer der schönsten Gegenden in Frankreich. Auch das kleine Bergdorf La Garde-Freinet hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Danke für die schöne Zeit.

Summer Paradise

Jenny’s house in the mountain is the perfect place for a calm summer holiday under the sun. The house is tastefully decorated and the kitchen is fully equipped. The swimming pool is huge. We would definitely recommend it and come back if we have the chance.

This house was my permanent home until I moved back to the UK in 2013. Many happy memories of living here with great friends in and around the village. I try and visit several times a year, as work allows. I currently have a small biotech company just outside Bedford and this is taking up a lot of my time. I moved to France in 1989 with my husband and absolutely love the country and this area.

Why they chose this property

We both loved farmhouses. We had lived in a farmhouse in Sussex prior to moving to France. My husband had been educated in France as a child and it was an ambition to go back to live. This house had the right 'feel' as soon as we saw it - we had made the decision to purchase before even going inside.

What makes this property unique

The quiet of the area is amazing. Close enought to the bustle of the beaches if you want it but the silence and the birdsong is lovely. The light, particularly in the evening, and the chestnut trees combine to make it a very beautiful spot.
