Historical 1902 house with off-street parking. We are three blocks from the beach. Features include a private back patio with a tropical setting and Gas Grill, Wi-Fi, Smart 32" TV with DVD and Google Chromecast, washer/dryer, central air and electric heat. 1 BR with an additional pull out couch in the LR. It is located in the historic San Jacinto district of Galveston and within walking distance of many of the island's feature attractions. Free parking on the beach, with free beach umbrella and 2 chairs; on beautiful Poretto Beach. This applies to everyday for our guests; all Summer and weather permitting in the fall.

Brilliant!

This place was absolutely perfect for what I needed. Rhonda made everything incredibly simple, and the place had all the amenities I could require. The location was even better - working at UTMB meant I was only a 10/15 minute walk away from work (and being 2 minutes from the beach on foot was a great bonus as well). Couldn't recommend this place any more! Thanks Rhonda!

just a little getaway

the cottage was cheerfully decorated and cozy. The bed and couch were comfortable and there was very nice seating for six on an outside patio. It has a great location very near the beach and also convenient for the downtown district. The neighborhood was nice and we always felt safe. There are plenty of nice eateries close by. We will stay there again if it's just the two of us. One or two more people could be manageable but it's best for just two. Host was very responsive and welcoming.

A lovely two months

Rick and Rhonda, were the perfect host and we so enjoyed their cottage. It was close to the beach close to downtown and had a nice neighborhood feel. I could go on and on, but suggest you try it for yourself.!!

Fabulous little mermaid house

Rhonda is amazing. She answers right away and so easy to work with. The house is so clean and comfortable. She did some personal things to make our 10 year anniversary special! The neighborhood was great! Walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The pass to Porretto beach with chairs and umbrella were a great bonus! The beach is really nice as well as the people that run it! We are sad to say goodbye, but we can’t wait to plan our next trip to the little mermaid house! Thank you for your hospitality and making this such a great anniversary trip!

We loved staying here. Very short drive to the beach. Loved having the free beach access, umbrella and chairs!! Saved us $50 each day! Cool and comfortable. Convenient to the Strand and to the Seawall and to all restaurants.

Wonderful Host

Rhonda makes sure you feel at home and goes above and beyond to accommodate. We have stayed at the little beach house twice and both times it’s been a perfect place to spend the weekend. Close to everything and Rhonda has everything you could possibly need for a great beach getaway.

Loved this little house!

This is the cutest little house! Very clean and stocked with everything we needed. Keep in mind this is a small, very old home so if a large bathroom or large kitchen is important to you, it might not work. However, the charm more than makes up for it because we love older homes. The host, Rhonda, was friendly and communicative so we would definitely love to stay here again the next time we are out this way.

Nice place to winter

The house was as pictured. Close to everything and so walkable to beach and many great eating places. The birds kept us company in the back garden, the front porch a great place to read. If you want a sweet home away this is it.

My Husband and I came down to Houston in 2005. We are originally from Kentucky. We fell in love with Galveston many years ago, while visiting. Of course, as soon as we moved to Houston, we made a "bee-line" to Galveston! We first became week-enders; and now live in Galveston!

Why they chose this property

We became week-enders down from Houston in 2006. We fell in love with this little house for it's 1900 charm. We went into the back yard and saw the beautiful sitting area under the giant oak trees and were SOLD….we have had many wonderful times here, with family and friends! Our Little House is in the quiet San Jacinto neighborhood on the desirable East End of Galveston. We are 3 blocks from the beach, and close to private Paretto Beach.

What makes this property unique

Large, private outdoor sitting area with OFF-STREET parking. Washer/dryer. Walking distance to restaurants and bars and beach! WE WELCOME SNOW BIRDS. Contact me for off-season rates: December, January, February (Mardi Gras) and March. i have added special rates for September and October for monthly rentals. Please choose at least 31 days to avoid hotel taxes.
