Thank you for your five-star review! "No See Ums" are coastal Florida's version of mosquitos. (They are so tiny, you "can't see um"). We don't get mosquitos on the beach, but if there's been rainy weather recently, the no see-ums will be out at dusk, just like mosquitoes elsewhere in the US). Although you had some bad luck with your trip -- rainy weather before your arrival, and a rare stretch of days with no ocean breeze (which normally keep the No See-Ums at bay), I'm glad that it was otherwise a success. Plus, there's good news: Effective Fall 2022, the owner installed a property-wide misting system (it runs on a clock, but also has a push-button remote control for instant relief) We'll see you next time!

Thank you for your five-star review and sharing your impressions about the "no see-ums" at the property in the days after Hurricane Ian stormed through our area of Florida, and our area experienced a couple of "no breeze" days. (rare in general, but common after a hurricane) While we don't get mosquitos on the beach, we do get "no see-ums", the tiny, nearly invisible cousin of mosquitos. After a lot of fresh -- and especially if there was just a wet hurricane -- these bugs bite the ankles & feet .. because they are so tiny the can't fly more than a foot off the ground, Sometimes at night, kids will wake up scratching their feet and ankles, because the stingers are so small most people can't feel the bite until the itching starts several hours later. Fortunately, in late October, the owner of the property installed a "MosquitoNix" misting system ... which helps cut down on the annoynace after there has been fresh rain. (If you are sitting poolside, just press a button on the remote control and the entire area gets misted). Thank you again for your review, and we'll see you again next year!
