About this property
Coastal Oasis: Modern Retreat near Halifax Harbour
Welcome to Coastal Oasis, a bright, newly renovated 3-bedroom home in historic Purcells Cove. Surrounded by ocean, lakes, and scenic trails, the home offers a peaceful retreat with beautiful views while remaining just minutes from downtown Halifax.
The home features 3 bedrooms, 6 beds, and 2.5 bathrooms, with generous open-concept living spaces and flexible sleeping arrangements for families and groups. The primary bedroom has a king-sized bed, while the other bedrooms and living areas offer queen-sized beds and additional pull-out sleeping options.
Large windows fill the home with natural light and showcase the surrounding landscape and water. From the custom windows in the primary bedroom, you can stargaze from bed and enjoy views across the Northwest Arm.
Outside, relax on the large deck overlooking the water or enjoy the landscaped grounds with a grassy lawn, picnic and BBQ area, stone seating, and a fire pit that may be used when local conditions and restrictions allow.
Coastal Oasis sits at the top of the hill in Purcells Cove, between the Atlantic coast and a protected wilderness area filled with forested hiking trails and lakes. It is an excellent base for walking, cycling, swimming, and exploring the natural side of Halifax.
Nearby Dingle Park offers coastal walking trails, a small beach, and the historic Dingle Tower. Several nearby lakes are popular for swimming, while Crystal Crescent Beach and Lawrencetown Beach are approximately a 25-minute drive away.
Public transit is limited to weekday peak hours, so a car is recommended for convenient access to groceries, restaurants, downtown Halifax, and other amenities. There is also plenty to explore directly from the property on foot or by bicycle, and bike rentals may be available with advance notice.
The home is supplied by a private well with excellent drinking water. With larger groups, if several showers, sinks, and appliances are used at the same time, you may notice a temporary reduction in water pressure during periods of peak use.
Guests have private use of the entire 3-bedroom main home, its 2.5 bathrooms, large deck, and outdoor lawn and fire area. The property also includes a separate, independently occupied lower-level residence with its own private living space and entrance. A detached music studio on the property is reserved for the host's use, with studio time potentially available separately by request. Purcells Cove is a quiet residential neighbourhood, so parties and loud music are not permitted.
We invite you to enjoy the peace, space, and combination of nature and city access that make Coastal Oasis a unique place to stay in Halifax.

Our host was awesome. The location is easily accessible to downtown Halifax but away from the hustle and bustle. We loved the woodwork in apartment. You can see the care he's put into the craftsmanship.

Why they chose this property
Purcells Cove offers something we think is increasingly rare: peaceful coastal living surrounded by nature, just minutes from downtown Halifax.
The neighbourhood sits between the Northwest Arm and a protected wilderness area filled with lakes and forested trails. You can walk, hike, cycle, swim, or simply enjoy the water views from the property, while downtown Halifax is only a short drive away.
We especially love the quiet pace of the neighbourhood, the proximity to the ocean, and being able to watch boats come and go along the Northwest Arm and Halifax Harbour.
What makes this property unique
Coastal Oasis combines the space and tranquillity of a coastal retreat with convenient access to Halifax. Large windows bring in abundant natural light and showcase views across the Northwest Arm, while the primary bedroom's custom windows let you stargaze from bed.
Inside, the renovated home blends modern finishes with warm handmade wood details and generous open-concept living spaces. Outside, guests can enjoy a large water-view deck, landscaped lawn, BBQ and picnic area, stone seating, and a fire pit when conditions permit. What makes the property particularly special is the setting: ocean views in one direction and forests, lakes, and trails in the other, all while being close enough to easily enjoy downtown Halifax.
