This was such a lovely stay. My family and I booked the place for a night but when we arrived and saw how beautiful it was, we had to extend for another night. They have an amazing collection of games and books to keep you occupied. And their music taste is amazing! It was calm, peaceful, and infinitely cozy. The hosts are wonderful and kind and generous. The location is beautiful and near the Karangahake gorge.

Restful, rustic and with many cute artistic touches. Loved the private outdoor bath. Close to the gorge with great swimming on a very hot summer weekend. Wonderful walking or cycling opportunities.

This was a great little place to get away from Auckland for a long weekend. Great location(right on the bike trail) and we had an amazing time.

Beautiful area and nice little shack

The property was quite nice, I would say a little overpriced for what is was, probably wouldn’t stay there again, but overall the location was very close to walks in karangahake gorge so excellent for that.

Thanks for your review. It was a little cheeky to only pay for 2 guests when you bought a child along, so perhaps in future dudclise all guests do you are prepared for the price

Rustic bush hideaway: Karangahake Gorge

Exactly what it says in the listing. Not polished or flash but cosy and full of character in a lovely setting, close to walks in the gorge, op shops in Paeroa and the Te Aroha thermal pools. Felt very welcome and nothing like an outdoor bath under the stars!

Quirky

A quirky, somewhat Heath Robinson setup, very charming and in fact well equipped, especially the kitchen. We didn't try the al fresco bath! All very colourful and comfortable. You really need a longer stay to grt to know it and enjoy it properly.

No staff. Didn’t know where to go . Lawns not mowed. Cleaning equipmment left in bedroom. Bathroom and toilet facilities far away from bedroom. Far too expensive compared to other motel accommodation
