The cottage/duplex was absolutely perfect for our needs. It was spotlessly clean and well appointed. We were especially impressed with the thought put into the layout of the property. It was hilly and had a lovely pond with a fountain and lights. The entire area was beautifully landscaped and each unit had a grill and private evening fire circle. We will undoubtedly return! This is our 4th trip to the quiet side. Now when our wealthy friends ask us “where do you winter?” - we can proudly say that we “summer in Maine”!

This property is conveniently located about 30 minutes from the main entrance of Acadia and 9 minutes from the Bass Harbor Lighthouse. There is no cell service in the area, but the Wi-Fi worked fine. Parking was plentiful. The home was nicely updated. The other couple that was with me did find that the mattress in the main bedroom was uncomfortable because they could feel the springs in it. Perhaps a mattress topper would help. Also, there were only 4 coffee cups and no small glasses, only large ones. A minor inconvenience, but we ended up buying some disposable cups so we wouldn’t be washing glasses all the time. The host also provided coffee cups to go, so we used those as well.Other than the cup situation :), the kitchen was nicely stocked, including Ziploc bags and plastic containers for leftovers. We also felt that a second set of towels would be nice. We stayed at this property for a week, so we laundered a load of towels mid week. All in all, though these were minor inconveniences and we definitely would stay here again.

Highly Recommend !

This was our second year renting at Orchard Hills and we had another great stay. Huckleberry was comfortable, very clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. It is the perfect location on the Quiet Side ! We traveled w our pups and it was such a relief to find a pet friendly place that didn’t compromise on quality. Customer service was also great; communication was smooth and any questions we had were answered quickly. Overall wonderful vacation - we’d definitely stay here again !

This apartment was great. It's a new build "complex" that is made up of duplexes that aren't right on top of each other so you still feel like you've got privacy. The downstairs/basement was still unfinished. I'd be interested in staying once it is because the walk out area under the pergola is lovely. We haven't stayed on the "quiet side" before but would recommend for people who are going there!

Great place to stay

This new apartment was the perfect size for the two of us. It was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything you’d need. We had a great view looking out the kitchen window and enjoyed watching the deer in the morning and evening in the back yard. We also liked having outdoor access to the basement for our bikes. We had a little difficulty finding the place at first as Huckleberry Lane is a private road and does not show up on the GPS. Our cell service was spotty, so we couldn’t open the dropped pin that was sent to us. Wen we finally got that opened we were good go. Location was great if you don’t mind driving 1/2 hour to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We preferred being on the quieter side. If I go back, this is where I’m staying.
