Charming Chilmark beach house with private Abel's Hill beach access

Lovely house at the top of Abel's Hill with access to private Abels' Hill Beach a half mile away. The house is wonderful for families with 5 bedrooms, three and half baths, two outdoor showers, well appointed kitchen, fire pit and lots of toys including boogie boards, kayaks, etc. There is an eigthy five foot deck with a seating area, dinig table for 12 and chaises overlooking a meadow. Our property also abuts the Sherrif's Meadow trail system. Newly installed A/C

Wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday

My family enjoyed our visit to Chilmark. The home was comfortable and set up nicely for family gatherings. Kitchen set up great for entertaining. The yard was beautiful and great place for kids to run around.

Cozy Getaway in an Amazing Location !!

The pictures do not do this property justice. The house has a great set up. It's clean and incredibly open, with bedrooms spread out and an amazing porch overlooking the beautiful property. The location is awesome- it feels quiet and cozy, but still close to amenities and access to great beaches- plus there is an extensive trail system literally right out the back door! The host was easy to connect with and very responsive when questions came up during our stay. My only complaint about the stay was that we couldn't stay longer!! We truly enjoyed every minute of our stay at this house!!

Look no further…

As another reviewer said, the pictures don’t do this place justice. It’s very spacious on the inside and has a generous sized deck and sprawling backyard. We were a group of college friends (go Catamounts!) visiting the island for a friend’s wedding and mini 10 year reunion. We really enjoyed our stay here. Several beaches are a short drive away and it does involve a bit of finagling to get to the private association beach.

Breathtaking property

Spacious property with beautiful views and amazing private beach (accessible via walk through pond). Kitchen fully stocked. It honestly could not have gotten any better.

Great location. We were on the island for my uncles funeral so not a real vacation. It would be fabulous in the summer.

A Woodland Retreat

The overall experience at this property was great. It was clean, comfortable and had outstanding views of the local forest. The only issue was finding it at night using a GPS which had us turn at the wrong pathway and basically took us to a dead end. However once we spoke to the caretaker he got us there and all was good. I would highly recommend the property and hope to return to it one day.

Beautiful property, great host. Perfect family vacation spot.

We had a group of 8 that stayed at this property.  The property is just as advertised, even better.  Nice and secluded, plenty of space indoors and out.  Beautiful surroundings, close to the beach.  Sleeping arrangements were comfortable, we all got at least 8 hours of sleep each night we were so comfortable.  Mimi is a great host and easy to communicate with.  We all felt like home at this place, which made for a special long weekend with friends.  Thanks Mimi!

Wedding weekend in MV

Four couples shared the house for 4 nights while attending a wedding on the island. Accommodations were clean and comfortable; we drew numbers for rooms, as each room was different. Outdoor showers were great! Access to Abel's Hill beach was enjoyed. We sat out on the deck for breakfast, enjoying the beautiful grounds, and late in the evening watching stars, fireflies and moonrise. Mimi was responsive to our questions. It was unusually hot on the Vineyard, and we found fans in closets which helped at night. We did have a small issue with some outlets not working. The kitchen and living area were great. It was great not having to bring sheets, towels, beach chairs and umbrellas. Thank you, Mimi.

Beautiful home, perfect for 8-10 people!

Mimi was a pleasure to work with - very responsive, helpful, and welcoming. Her home is beautiful and functional - it was perfect for our group of 10! The location is charming, but not ideal without a vehicle (however, Mimi tried to warn us of this). Fortunately, the Uber and Lyft availability is growing and Bluefish taxi was very easy to coordinate with. I would definitely rent from Mimi again!

Amazing property and we really had a gala time

We were a group of 8 people and we really had fantastic time at the property.. it's beautifully maintained with all amenities and the owner as well as caretaker did every bit to make us comfortable and well acquainted with all the things in the house.. I would really recommend this to stay.. Thankyou Mimi and Phil ..we would love to be back again for a longer stay. A big thanks to you Mimi & Phil from my group

We began coming to the Vineyard in college and have vacationed there every summer since. We discovered Chilmark in 1991 when we were guests of some friends on Abels Hill. We immediatley loved the warm community and the serenity of Chilmark. We bought our house in '05 and have been lucky enough to soend much of the summer there since.
