This was probably the most relaxing vacation we’ve ever had. The house is so cozy, and welcoming. We loved time to read, play board games, and just relax!
Clean, comfy, and cozy house, generously stocked with basics for the stay. The location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views of the canyon. Staying in this house made our wonderful visit even better. Interaction with Donna the property manager was easy, prompt and helpful. We LOVED this place!

Thanks so much and it was wonderful to meet you both and I hope you so come again next year. Again best wishes on the next very exciting journey in life😊
We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend. It was easy to get to Denver, Boulder and Estes Park. The first drive down the gravel is a bit daunting but you get used to it! We enjoyed dinner every OG Hy on the picnic table, hiked up and down to the creek and enjoyed the provided games, books and puzzles. We had an amazing family trip.
I visited this location with my (now) husband to privately exchange vows just the two of us. The views were breathtaking, we often found ourselves spending time just sitting outside or staring out the window. The house was extremely inviting with everything you could need available in the pantries. I will say the driveway was intimidating, we don’t have dirt roads or steep hills in Maryland but with four wheel drive and caution we got the hang of it and felt comfortable. This place will always be a cherished memory for us!

Three of us stayed here for three nights. Old guys trip. We were very comfortable. The cabin is only about 20 minutes from Boulder, but you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. The views are amazing. The property manager Donna was very nice and helpful. I hope we can stay here again sometime.
Probably one of the most peaceful locations we have stayed. The one concern for us was the driveway is tight and must turn to pull out. We did not know this and rented a larger vehicle making it a bit harder. Rent a smaller car !!!Lots of amenities thought of and available !!!!!Even found a guitar minis a string which we took to Nederland and had it worked on. Nice also amazing hummingbirds !!!

Usually the online pics over-sale locations. These undersold! The view is nothing short of spectacular! Beautiful, well furnished home and Donna was great to work with! Highly, highly, highly recommend!
My husband surprised me with a trip to Colorado, but we chose where we would stay together. We decided that a quiet getaway would be perfect and this was the house just for that! It was so peaceful, clean, and quiet. So much so, we waited until the last possible minute to leave before checkout. We didn’t want to leave this little slice of heaven!!!

Jennifer we are so glad you had a wonderful time in our slice of paradise. Come back again anytime and stay longer next time.
We had a lovely stay on Sugarloaf Mountain. It was a mountain retreat getaway for us and the place is perfect for that. Still so close to Boulder, but so private and peaceful. The whole place has the feel of being intentionally designed as a spiritual retreat and that’s exactly what it was for us.
Yes, the road down to the place is a very narrow steep dirt road, but totally manageable and totally worth it. We enjoyed a nearby hike down to Dream Canyon. We would love to return someday for a longer stay!
I want to keep this place all to myself!
Donna, property manager, was fantastic to communicate with. The house and location was beautiful and serene. The location was so convenient to downtown Boulder.
Our daughter and son-in-law moved to Boulder area in January and we will definetly be returning to stay at this location soon. Thank you again Donna!
This is a wonderful retreat for getting away from it all. The house is well appointed, lots of storage space, hangers (yay!), not too far to Pearl Street Mall but definitely out of the main drag. The house is decorated so nicely and it makes for a very homey feeling. We saw a rock climber, deer, chipmunks and bunnies. There is a birds nest over the front porch and mama bird was busy feeding her hatchlings the whole time we were there. Played Yahtzee and did 3 puzzles, took walks, and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet. Also very comfy main bed :) Thank you for a lovely stay.
It's truly impossible to describe the breathtaking view from this property and what it's like to sit out in the Adirondack chairs and listen to the water flow in the canyon in the creek below well you sip your coffee in the morning.Everything was well prepared and clean when we arrived. We felt welcome and inclined to treat this property as we would our own. There's a list of simple instructions to follow upon arrival and on checkout, there's laundry you can do if you need, letters and notes from past guests, as well as pantry items you can help yourself to, and add to.The drive into Boulder takes less than 25 minutes and is very easy if you want to stop at Trader Joe's or Whole Foods and get things to cook for yourself like we did.I've already shared this property with several friends in the family. I hope that we have an opportunity to return one day. If you choose to stay here, you won't regret it!
Enjoyed the stay. But have to be honest the 3K deposit was concerning. We paid a cleaning fee but the expectation of washing everything was over the top.
The price per night was very good. View and experience was amazing. Turning around in the driveway was scary but overall things were well explained in the notes. I would recommend for the first night be sure to show up before dark. I am sure my sister will send a photo or two of Bob the young Moose. That was a highlight of the stay.

Eric thanks for your review and feed back. The check out lists requests start / run a load in washer of sheets and towels everything usually fits in one load not to do all he laundry as it helps cleaner stay on schedule if there is multiple loads, the laundry takes the longest to do. As for the 3000$ you have an option to buy the insurance which is only 69$ for that.
We received the photos thank you for sister sending them.
The view that this house has to offer is unmatched!! We’re taking a family trip going to 6 different locations in colorado and this one is by far our favorite place. The home was beautifully decorated and peaceful. Sitting outside we were able to see more hummingbirds in 4 days than I have in my life, it was so magical being on that mountain!! Donna was so helpful and sweet! We will definitely stay here again. The only thing I would caution anyone to is the driveway, it is a dirt road which was ok, but as you get closer to the house it does go down hill a bit which made my mother in law very nervous but once we did it a couple times she was fine, just make sure you arrive during the day the first day. Also if you have little ones in diapers make sure you are taking them to town when you go to dispose of them yourself - these are minor things that are so worth it to stay here!! It’s a dream!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was lovely to meet you all and host your family. I hope the rest of your trip goes well. Donna
House was great and had everything you need. The hostess was great, checking to make sure that we arrived and periodically through the week. The views were spectacular, and could be seen from everywhere in the house. I enjoyed sitting outside the house listening to the river below and the winds sweeping through the canyon. Didn't check, but I swear my BP dropped a few dozen points. We enjoyed hiking during the day, the trails in Eldora were some of the best we have seen and only 10-15 mins away. As others have mentioned, the driveway is not for the faint of heart but easily mastered. We were in a 4wd truck, which required some additional maneuvering due to length, but manageable. I would definitely drive a vehicle with some ground clearance. If you want to get away from it all... this is place. I hope to visit again.

About the host
Hosted by Donna Eberle and Richard Skeie
Richard Skeie began in business as an entrepreneur, eventually co-founding and presiding over a public company for many years. Following a profound spiritual awakening in 1992 he left the company and began many years of study that included self-awareness, heart-centered healing modalities, Jungian psychology, dream interpretation, and awakening. He graduated from Sancta Sophia Seminary and was ordained in Light of Christ Community Church and is a Professional Practitioner of Quantum Energetics Structured Therapy through the Association for the Advancement of Energy Medicine.
Richard built his house at Dream Canyon in the Sugarloaf Mountain area west of Boulder, Colorado. He had a Healing Practice helping people with personal awakening and energy medicine until he met Denise from Brazil. He now spends summers in Brazil.
Why they chose this property
I didn't intend to buy property or build a home. I was house-sitting for a friend in the area. The first day, I took my dog for a walk. At the end of the driveway, I took a right and walked down N. Gulch Rd. In a forest area, I looked across the canyon and saw a beautiful area with a burned-out house. I thought, "I wonder if this land is for sale." The second day, we took a left. Coming down a deserted road, I saw the cliffs. Very moved by the sight, I caught my breath. A couple minutes later, I was at the burned-out house and I realized I was across the area from the day before. A month later, I house-sat again and met the landlord. I did not tell him or anyone else about the land or the house. A month after that, the landlord called me. He said, "How would you like to come look at some property I have for sale. I met him and he drove me down the road. He stopped at the area where I caught my breath at the sight of the cliffs and said, "This is it." So, I didn't choose. "Life" chose this property for me. It took six years to build my home. I received the Certificate of Occupancy last year -- May 2017.
What makes this property unique
The home is at ~7,600 ft. In the summer, the area is 10˚ cooler than Boulder and inside it's 10˚ cooler than outside. So, 90˚ in Boulder means 70˚ inside. By opening windows you can regulate the temperature. The area will transmit its peace and quiet within you. There's wildlife every day. They've all run from me, but beware; don't feed or approach them.
