Fish Lake Cottage / Summer and Winter Fun

Welcome to Fish Lake Cottage. The cottage is located on all sports Fish Lake with a small sandy beach and a dock. Fish Lake is a small lake approximately 40 acres known for great fishing. The lake is quiet and water sports are allowed. The cottage is fully updated and has everything you need for a great relaxing vacation. Enjoy the beautiful backyard overlooking the lake or have a cookout on the back deck. So if your just here to sit and relax by the lake or shop in South Haven this is it. Cottage is fully updated and can be rented for summer activities as well as all winter sports. Area is great for downhill skiing at Timber Ridge and Bittersweet Ski Resort or cross country skiing on Kal- Haven trail. Guest wanting to snowmobile and bring their machines are also welcome as there is a great network of trails that you can ride to right from the cottage to the Kal Haven Trail Head 2 miles north. Guest in the summer are welcome to bring their water toys including boats and wave runners. The main level is open concept with the kitchen and living room having a view of Fish Lake. A full Bathroom is also located on the main floor which includes the full use of a washer and dryer. One bedroom is also located on the main floor which has one queen bed as well as a bunk bed featuring a full bed on the bottom and a twin on the top. Cottage has a Blowup mattress available as well to accommodate those who do not wish to sleep on the bunk bed. There is a staircase that leads up to the 2 bedroom loft. This bedroom has a half bathroom and has a queen bed as well. The west wall of this bedroom is full of windows that allow for a great view of the lake. The Cottage has central air / furnace. The kitchen has pots, pans, cooking utensils, plates, bowls and cups. There is a full size fridge, stove/ oven, microwave, coffee pot, Keurig and dishwasher for guest use. Towels and linens are supplied as well as hair dryer, iron and washer/ dryer.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
Please place all used towels and bedding in the bathtub across from washer and dryer.
Please empty all trash including the bathrooms. Place all trash in garbage can by the garage and place it at the end of the rocks near the private road.
Remove the kayak and paddle boat from the water and onto the beach. Place the paddles and seat backs for paddle boat and beach toys in the storage box on deck. Close the patio umbrella.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Violation of any rules or policies listed in listing or inside of house will result in immediate removal from property with no refund.

Perfect Getaway!

We had a wonderful late Spring stay at the lake house with our family of 4. The house was exactly what we wanted for our family and had everything we could have needed. House was in pristine condition! We enjoyed our time and can’t wait to stay again. Dennis was responsive and had great local recommendations for places to visit. Fish Lake House

We enjoyed our long weekend stay. It was the perfect size for the four of us, and we loved being able to walk out back and get into the lake. The water was very clean, and perfect for swimming, fishing and kayaking. We made use of the grill, fire pit and laundry. We spent one day in South Haven, and I would highly recommend that. The homeowner was super friendly and always just a text or call away.

Great summer stay

Dennis was MORE than accommodating with us . He reached out and sent multiple texts with great ideas of things to do in the surrounding area. However, this property had everything we needed so we stayed lakeside the entire trip. Neighbors were very friendly as well and even shared some lake toys for our littles to use. We really enjoyed our trip and felt it was perfect for our family. Thank you so much !!

Perfect family getaway

This is the perfect house and location for a peaceful getaway to relax and enjoy nature. The lake is only developed on one half, making for the most picturesque view. Lake traffic is primarily anglers and paddlers. All had a ton of fun fishing off the dock or from the host’s kayak, and playing in the sand. The home is clean, updated and better appointed than most VRBO homes we’ve stayed at. The host was extremely welcoming and informative, and his attention to detail in communication prior to and during our trip made us feel very comfortable. We hope to return and recommend it highly.

Relaxing Weekend

The property was exactly as it was in the pictures. My family (2 adults & 18 month old) needed a long weekend away to unwind and spend some quality family time and that's exactly what happened :D The home was clean and all necessities were supplied as listed. We made a lot of delicious family meals and made some good memories. We've sent the link to this house out to close friends and family telling them to stay here if they need a weekend away that's not too far. Would 100% recommend :D

Peaceful and wonderful!

First off, we went in November. So we didn't utilize the lake, but it was so incredibly peaceful to look at anyway. The house is so cute. The owner was very available and kind. We didn't have good cell service, but the wifi helped in that matter. We loved our stay and recommend this property!!

House and lake were amazing!

Great Fall getaway!

My husband and I stayed at this property for a weekend getaway to celebrate our anniversary. The property owner helped make this trip super easy and very enjoyable - he called us the day before to make sure we had all the details needed and asked if we had any questions, he gave additional info to ensure we had a great stay and was overall very hospitable. Upon arrival, the place was extremely clean, exactly as described, and perfect for what we were looking for - a secluded, relaxing getaway. The weather wasn't the best during our stay so we weren't able to fully take advantage of all the things the place had to offer (fire pit, paddle boat/kayak, etc.) however it was great to have as options. I would definitely stay here again!

Great Location and Beautiful View

We had a great time! Dennis was very easy to communicate with-we were in contact via the VRBO messaging service and via phone when going over the remaining few details as we approached the visit. The cottage was gorgeous! Fall colors were just turning. The lake is private but easy to fish! We caught plenty just from the kayak & paddleboat, including a few bass and a snapping turtle! Would definitely rent again with Dennis.

Relaxing family retreat

Our family (mom, dad, and 2 toddlers) enjoyed a relaxing mid-week stay at this lake house. Everything was as listed and communicated. Dennis was very communicative, welcoming, and hospitable. Our family would like to welcome you to our family cottage. We currently use our cottage to get away from the big city hustle and bustle and would like to share its peace and quiet as well as our love for this area with guests. Our family of 4 make many memories here and enjoy the peace and quiet along with all the nature that the lake attracts.

Why they chose this property

Our Family has just recently purchased this cottage but have been visiting the area for the past 10 years as we had another cottage in this area that we sold to buy this one. We bought this cottage for its great location. Its located on Fish Lake and is very secluded. We have been coming to this area for the fun summer lake activities including this lake as well as traveling the short trip to Downtown South Haven and Lake Michigan. The Cottage is also used in the winter as the Kal-Haven Trail is a short drive down the street for snowmobiling, cross country skiing and hiking. Timber Ridge Ski Lodge is also a short 10 minute drive by car or snowmobile.

What makes this property unique

We love our cottage just simply because of how peaceful and quiet it is. Sitting on the rear deck that overlooks the lake is such a stress reliever. The cottage is secluded on a private road with very little traffic and only a few houses on the lake.
